20.01.2022 Now that we're all staying at home we need ways to keep the kids entertained. So we'll be sharing some simple craft activities you can all do with supplies you most likely have around the house. Today's project is these paper flying whirlies! All you need is 3 strips of paper, we used the short end of an A4 sheet, cut strips about 3cm wide. We didn't measure or rule, just tried to make them fairly even. Play around with different lengths and widths to see what difference it m...akes I might need to work on my videos, but hopefully you get the idea have fun!!

19.01.2022 It's Make It Monday!! Is that a thing? It is now Today we made slime!! My daughter made some with her friend via Skype while my son tested a few different recipes. The goldy orange worked the best, made with borax, glue and paint The blue was glue, dishwashing liquid and bicarb soda not really slimy, more like a kinetic sand but sticks to your hands and used heeeaaapps of bicarb. Pinky orange was his own recipe with glue, borax, conditioner and corn flour worked OK but not stretchy. The small blue is my daughter's, she added glitter and little hearts but too much borax and it went too hard Do you have a go to slime recipe that the kids love?

17.01.2022 Due to the health risks at the moment, our amazing venue Little Play Cafe have made the decision to close their doors for a while. As I'm sure you all understand it's not worth the risk to their little customers. So for the time being Project: Creative Kids will be taking a break. Hopefully it won't be for too long, and I will use the time to test out all the awesome projects I have planned! With that said, our competition winner will still receive a free session when we return. And the winner is..... Nichole Spaull who voted for bath bombs

14.01.2022 Make it Monday! Today we had a go at an online drawing tutorial from Fiona Kennedy Art Gallery and Studio We loved it so much and check out our artwork! Have a look at her page for the videos, I think we'll try another one tomorrow

10.01.2022 Hi I'm Sally I'm a mum of 2, and the maker and crafter behind Project:Creative Kids! As a maker, I believe that all kids should have the chance to get crafty. Participating in art and craft activities is great for relaxation, building fine motor skills and boosting self esteem. And most importantly it's so much fun! But.... as a mum I know craft time is not always as easy, or as fun, as it sounds!... It can be expensive buying supplies that might only get used once, then take up storage space in our homes. We all lead busy lives and don't always have the time or space to dedicate to crafting. And sometimes just the thought of cleaning up all that mess (glitter, glitter everywhere! ) can be enough to put anyone off! That's where Project:Creative Kids comes in! We provide the time, the space, the supplies and a new project to complete each week. And we'll even clean up all the mess! The kids get to have the fun, and get all the benefits of crafting, while parents can just relax and enjoy watching their kids create Next week we will create sculptures using air dry clay that we will make ourselves too! 08.01.2022 We tested out a new painting technique today. It took a few adjustments but I think it turned out awesome and it was heaps of fun! This will definitely be added to our list of projects

03.01.2022 Today's session was super fun! The kids were awesome and had so many ideas of what to make. We had hearts, rainbows, butterflies and koalas! Two boys told me they've been learning about volcanos at school so that's what they made. And they're going to take their sculptures to school to share with their class
