23.01.2022 Here’s a snippet from a corner of our home that’s almost finished... Imagine a fresh coat of white paint I had a lot of messages last week with comments and questions about styling shelves, buffets and coffee tables. He’s an example of one of our shelving units. It’s far from ‘insta worthy’ but for us it needs to be functional, practical and stylish. However, it’s a good example of some rules to follow when styling your own areas.... Use a common colour theme throughout but allow pops of colour Play with different sizes and heights to make an eye catching cluster If your using books twice, try mixing up their positions or adding an item on a stack Start with your larger items and add your smaller ones after Remember decorating works better with odd numbers I hope you find these tips helpful!

22.01.2022 Tip Tuesday Todays Tip Tuesday is sharing the triangle theory with you. This is a method that I use as a base when styling coffee tabes, bookcases, buffets, mantles and really anywhere that it can apply. It’s really as simple as it sounds Creating a triangle with your decorating pieces to create a connected vignette and giving visual order.... The triangle theory can be applied and formed in many ways; as a stack, three different decorating pieces or three of the same items. Items can also be layered to add depth, so they don’t always needs to be set in a horizontal line. Have a look at how I’ve used the triangle theory is some of my vignettes around our home.

20.01.2022 Tip Tuesday. Storage for the little people in our lives.Keeping kids areas neat and tidy can seem like mission impossible some days - I know.. I’ve got two little boys who seem to have a trail of toys from their bedrooms to the toy room all day, every day. The key is to make it fun and easy for them to help with the packing away with simple solutions. Baskets are my number one must have for the boys. They can throw what ever they like in a basket, and I don’t need to look... at it anymore. They area also great for labelling if your kids are old enough. Harry knows we have a basket for cars, train set, characters; you name it, it probably lives in a basket. There are such fun and stylish baskets available these days that hiding away toys will actually look nice as well as being functional and practical. Getting things off the ground is also key, so having hanging options for items like hats, jackets, dress ups etc will make it super quick and easy to pack them away. I love using cool wall hanging hooks. They look like a great all feature when they’re not holding items and they’re super easy for kids to hang things on. Just remember - hanging them at a lower kids hight is what’s going to help you! Bookcases are another great storage solutions for kids, whether it be in their bed rooms or a toy / lounge room. Again, baskets are a winner here, especially on those lower shelves but utilise the kids cool toys. Make a feature of them on the shelf. And let them have a home. There are lots of ways to store kids belongings on shelves. @hmhome

20.01.2022 Shelves. They can be a tricky piece to style. Too much? Too little? Wrong colours? Wrong sizes? No repetition? No flow? There is so much to think about when it comes to styling your shelves. But remember, negative space is your friend. Try grouping objects together and using a variety of colour, texture and size to create a effortless look. Part of my REVIVE YOUR HOME package is 60 minutes together where we can look at ways of styling your spaces. We can work on anything fro...m styling shelves to dressing beds. This is your opportunity to have support and guidance to bring out the potential in your home! @ur_place

15.01.2022 WE’RE IN! We are absolutely in love with our new home and can’t wait to settle in and start the renovations. From the minute we unpacked the first box we have instantly felt at home. I look forward to many years and lots of memories in our new home! #newhome #renovation #sold #movinghouse #unpacking #happilyeverafter

14.01.2022 Bathroom and kitchen mood boards off to some very happy clients! I have been fortunate enough to work with a beautiful family and support them on their new build. Styling bathrooms and kitchens along with choosing selections can be a difficult task when you can’t visualise everything together. I see a lot of people spending time and effort choosing their selections (as they should) but then forget about the importance of styling to compliment their new spaces.... If you’re someone who has recent built/renovated, or are building, get in touch so I can help you to create the space that you are dreaming of! #interiorstyling #moodboard #kitchendesign #bathroomdesign #visualisation #selections #support #styling #newhomes #renovations #realhomesdonebetter @ Renmark, South Australia, Australia

12.01.2022 TIP TUESDAY There is nothing nicer than fresh flowers and we’re lucky enough to have these lilies growing in our garden. By no means am I a florist but I thought this week I’d share a few rules I follow when arranging flowers. Decide where your arrangement will be. Will the flowers need to be visible from all angles, like mine? Or is it against a wall where they’ll be one sided.... Start your arrangement by placing the large, heavy flowers first. And fill in spaces with medium stems and then smaller flowers or foliage. Try to have your bouquet taller than the vase to make the width balance height. Cut longer stems than you think you’ll need. You can always make them shorter, but you can’t add height back to them. And always remember to keep your water fresh! See more

12.01.2022 All business have to start somewhere. I’ve been inspired lately by some pretty incredible women (Ebby @ebbydesigns and Bec @becshawcreative I’m looking at you two! ) Some women I follow are starting out and smashing it, while others are more established and now looking back at where they began. But this week it’s reminded me to keep fighting and to keep focused. Baby steps are better than so steps at all. I had big plans for Project Forty this year but as 2020 has unfolded... things haven’t quite happened as I planned. But I’m still plodding along! I’m still here and I’m still building a business that I love. Whilst I sit at my kitchen bench or drag my only office item - my chair - out to our kitchen table to work, I wonder where Project Forty could be in 1, 2 or even 5 years time. Will my business change? Will my focus shift? I’m excited to see what is to come but i’m even more excited to be able to help wonderful people create their dream spaces! @westelmaus

10.01.2022 Wow-o-wow! What a three weeks it’s been. We’re officially unpacked and settled into our new home! From the minute we unlocked the door for the first time we instantly knew we had made the best decision for our family. The home instantly felt like ours and had that warm, fuzzy and homely feeling about it. We feel like we’ve been living here for months already - we’re so content #fullhearts My absence on here has been due to how busy we’ve been settling in and getting thing...s to a point we’re happy with. We’ll be busy for the text ten years but I think we’re at a pretty good place for now. I’ll start sharing some snippets of our home and I’m aiming to share my packages with you all quite shortly So stay tuned! @ouwenscasserlyre See more

10.01.2022 Sunday bedroom inspiration for our littlest man!

08.01.2022 Our office is going to be the next room we tackle and in the meantime this little bit of motivation is going to keep me excited!! Because at the moment, there’s nothing too exciting or inspiring about our office...

08.01.2022 If only my laundry looked this amazing, maybe my washing would get done a little faster. Well, let’s be completely honest... it probably wouldn’t I’m on the hunt for laundry renovation ideas and inspiration. We’ve got a good space but it needs some serious attention and love! @katythomasstudio

05.01.2022 Hello! We’ve been little quiet on here of late. I guess you could say life got busy and Project Forty was unfortunately the one to take a seat on the back burner. But if I’m completely honest, I guess I’ve also been in a bit if a business ‘funk’ so to speak. Not really sure where it was I wanted this business to go and how we were going to get there. I’ve been lucky enough to have the support from some wonderful people (more on them later) to get me back on track and to find ...my spark. And for that I’m very grateful It can be hard work starting a business. Let alone on top of working a regular job, running around after kids and a family and then keeping up with the regular outings of a busy social life. But I’ve found my groove again! Admiring beautiful spaces like this one by Labb Designs is what I love and adore. I love helping others achieve their dreams; it’s my happy place

04.01.2022 Welcome to my favourite corner in our home (well, one of my fav corners) Do you have a favourite spot in your home? What makes it so special? Our lounge room has been one of the rooms that we are prioritising to get complete first. It’s where we spend most of our time as a family and with friends

03.01.2022 New face A new house, a new focus and new branding colours. I’ve chosen colours that follow through into my life - they’re in my wardrobe and they’re in my home. They’re the natural colours that I’m drawn to. For anyone who knows me will know that navy and white stripe is a ‘sever uniform’. I’m looking forward to using these colours through my feed! A huge thank you to Kristen from @ksea_design for working with me! She was an absolute star and was able to put up with my indecisiveness and constant changing ideas. She absolutely nailed!

02.01.2022 Here’s a sneak peak of one side of the office. It’s a work in progress but we’re happy with how this desk is starting to look! We made up the bench tops using a @bunnings laminated oak panel, which we sanded and varnished. Then to add a bit of ‘wow’ to the desk we decided to create a shadow line underneath by painting MDF black and cutting it to sit just short. An idea that takes it from a classic DIY to something a little bit extra. A simple way to create a customised desk that looks good and doesn’t break the bank! @ Renmark, South Australia, Australia

01.01.2022 Tip Tuesday breaks down some simple ways to get your bed looking as incredible as Daniel and Jade’s from @theblock I share a few tips and tricks over on my Instagram stories so head over and have a peek. @danielandjade
