21.01.2022 Does your company have a LinkedIn presence? From my experience over the last few years, company pages got little traction for most SME’s. But the game has now changed, and I’d suggest it’s mandatory to now have one. A critical part of your companies presence is through content. So, what should you consider when posting?... Short and Punchy: Updates are more appealing to audiences when under 150 words. Audiences are also more responsive to stats, quotes, images and videos. Relevance: Don’t make it all about you, share case studies, stories, highlight your team members and most importantly, keep most of it interesting to your page’s followers. Visual Appeal: Attention spans rarely exceed a few seconds these days. Use this to your advantage by including inspiring and to the point images and videos. And finally Consistency: Posting irregularly tells your audience you don’t really care about them. So too does posting too often, it positions you as no more than a content spammer. I recommend three times per week as a good number to aim for. Follow these suggestions and you’ll see your LinkedIn audience increase in no time. Im getting more reports and personal experiences of people having their posts spammed with irrelevant content and links. There can only be one response to stop these people: cut them as a connection. The first one is really simple:... 1) Use your 100 credits each month to invite connections to your page. In the settings you will see you have 100 credits each month, it works similar to how Inmails operate. You lose a credit for each person that does not accept your invite. So be strategic in who you send them to. 08.01.2022 Does the idea of appearing on video scare you? Me too, but it’s now a key element of the content I create. I was a long way out of my comfort zone when I started creating LinkedIn videos. So if this is scary territory for you, relax, you’re not alone.... I made lots of mistakes in the beginning, but that’s all part of learning. I didn’t know how to hold the camera (in my case that was my phone); didn’t know much about lighting and wasn’t very good at keeping the content both tight and engaging. Imagine my frustration when I get random invites to connect with people who have no message, and no real reason as to why I should accept their invites. This is utterly pointless. For as long as I can remember I’ve been fielding questions about how to get better insights into who is following your LinkedIn company page. The short answer was you couldn’t.... They were faceless followers to you the page owner, but that’s now changed thankfully. You can now view the profile of each follower on your page. Additionally, you can filter by: Location, Job Function Seniority Industry or Company Size If you have been neglecting your company page it’s time to start showing it some love and attention. But not too much, I still believe your personal page should get 95% of your time if you’re a Small to Medium size business.
