25.01.2022 We now stock Prop Shield, a propeller anti-fouling suitable for propellers, shafts, rudders, P&A brackets, trim tabs, inboards, outboards saildrives etc etc. https://bit.ly/propshield It is compatible with all metal and painted surfaces and eradicates barnacles and hard growth while minimising electrolysis and oxidisation.

24.01.2022 Although Prop Protectors are razor sharp they will not harm marine wildlife. The blade is located forward of the prop in the gap between the hub and the stern tube and is much smaller than the prop itself.

22.01.2022 Dangar Marine applying Prop Shield anti foul to his propeller. Relevant section between 7:18 and 13 mins. Great work fella.

18.01.2022 Sometimes you just dont need a Prop Protector

18.01.2022 If you are in the Gold Coast take a look at a Prop Protector at Marine Trade Supplies Chandlery Superstore. Be careful though as the blade is razor sharp and the protective cover is there for good reason.

16.01.2022 Whilst on South Stradbroke Island recently we were fortunate to be a part of a new documentary called The Great Global Clean Up that will air on Discovery Channel on April 22nd. Read more here. https://realscreen.com//discovery-sets-earth-day-special/

14.01.2022 Prop Protectors are not just for recreational vessels. Four of the larger (Dad) ones have been sent to Hart Marine in Victoria to be installed on two new harbour patrol vessels bound for the Middle East.

08.01.2022 Get in quick and grab yourself a bargain. For a limited time and while stocks last Prop Protector Australia is offering a 20% discount on a selected number of rope cutters. For more details about the numbers and sizes available click on the following link - https://bit.ly/July_Sale_Items The Prop Protector is a simple shaft driven rope cutter, rotating with the shaft and instantly cutting any rope, weed or debris picked up or snagged by the propeller.... Manufactured from high grade (316) Stainless Steel, the Prop Protector is easy to install - fully installed in minutes - with your boat out of the water or between tides. The clamp-on version can even be fitted by a diver if underwater installation is required. The Prop Protector sits on the shaft, between the propeller hub and the stern bearing, waiting to cut anything that threatens to entangle it. There are no moving parts to fail - just a razor sharp marine grade stainless steel blade - ready to slice through most marine debris. Every Prop protector comes with a 5 YEAR GUARANTEE against faulty materials or workmanship.

06.01.2022 So I read this a few years ago, and recently it was posted again on one of the many sailing/boating sites I follow. If you enjoy water sports and swimming, it could be important to a loved one to understand the real signs of someone drowning; not the TV dramatic adaptation...

06.01.2022 Are you working on your boat? Have you put her on the hard? Why not consider installing a Prop Protector rope cutter to protect against rope, line and weed fouling your propeller. 10 minutes to install a lifetime peace of mind. Priceless!! Made of high grade 316 stainless steel and guaranteed for 5 years against faulty workmanship or materials. The cutters come in two versions; a slide on and a clamp on (which can be installed without taking the propeller off and even in the water). Prop Protectors are available to suit propeller shaft sizes from 20 mm (3/4) up to 100mm (4).

03.01.2022 Sailing in NSW is back baby (well, kinda). The Boating Industry Association (BIA) today welcomed the relaxation of restrictions on recreational boating in NSW f...ollowing encouraging signs of containment of COVID-19. Darren Vaux, BIA President, thanked the NSW Premier and Health Minister for their support for boating. The State Government today confirmed that members of a household can go out boating in all forms of recreational craft. This means a typical family household can go out together as there does not need to be 4 square metres of space for each person onboard. Meanwhile people who are not from the same household can also go recreational boating but should maintain a physical distance of 1.5 metres from others, as is reasonably practicable. The Boating Industry Association welcomes this news for the boating public, businesses and jobs while maintaining a conservative approach to the protection of public health and safety. It has been proven that recreational boating in all its forms is good for both mental and physical health and is a low-risk activity that can be enjoyed whilst adhering to physical distancing and hygiene rules, Vaux said. With more than 20 per cent of all Australians engaging in some form of boating activity annually, getting out on the water is a way of life for many Australians and an important part of the social, physical, mental and economic recovery from COVID-19. Recreational boating is now permissible under physical distancing criteria in States and Territories across Australia. Reactivating boating will also start to repair the boating industry, which is closely aligned to tourism and discretionary spending, and is hurting with staff layoffs and business closures as a result of the pandemic. In 2018-19 the industry had a turnover of $8.65 billion, directly employed more than 28,000 people with more than 14,500 contractors. Seventy-five per cent are in small businesses, employing local workers and supporting local communities distributed around the Australian coastline. The BIA reminds boaters to practice safe and responsible boating which includes: ensure the weather and sea conditions are suitable ensure your boat and equipment are suitable and your safety gear is complete and in-date tell someone where you are going and your estimated time of return wear a lifejacket, especially for children, those 60+ or if going out alone be COVID Safe and follow physical distancing, gathering and hygiene advice.
