25.01.2022 So what’s ProvYouth all about anyway? At Providence Midland, we have an amazing team of dedicated youth leader who run a fortnightly youth group for high school ages kids, and it’s been pumping! We see some amazing activities and fun stories come out of this group, but we also know it’s not all about the activities. Youth Group is an opportunity for young people to gather with like-minded friends and mentors, to learn and grow in their love for Jesus. We’re interviewing Mel and Tiara, our Youth coordinators about what it’s all about and how we can support them today. This afternoon, come along and support these guys with us at Prov Midland. We are so blessed to have them! Then we’re going to hear from our very own Glenn Wylde who’s going to preach from 1 Corinthians 12. see you there!

25.01.2022 Our guys had a great time at the Young Adults Supper on Sunday night! 24.01.2022 This week Rory Shiner joins us to share in our series on 1 Corinthians, 'Church # NoFilter". We're excited to have Rory come visit us, to open God's word and encourage us from the scriptures, and to share fellowship over a cup of tea after the service. As the Providence Church Network Director, Rory has been hugely supportive and influential at Prov Midland for our staff and Eldership team, so why not come along and say hi - this Sunday!

24.01.2022 Prov Ladies! Come join us for afternoon tea to see through the end of 2020 and to raise money for the Allen family on mission in Fiji. It'll be a great afternoon with delicious food and fantastic company. All are welcome, so feel free to invite a friend to join us.... Grace and peace, Maddy Rhodes

23.01.2022 Join us this week as we commission our new Bayswater church plant! 2021 will see a third Providence church in the city of Bayswater, to plant seeds of the gospel giving rise to Christ’s church. We’ll spend time hearing from the planting Pastor, Paul Young, and one of our very own members who’s moving to the church plant. Come along to Swan Christian college tomorrow at 4pm to pray for and praise God for Providence Bayswater!

22.01.2022 A great piece written by our very own Providence Network Director, Rory Shiner. These are some of the questions tackled among our community, and great encouragement is found when we consider the enormity of what Christ has done for us in his life, death, resurrection and exaltation! Worth a read when you get a chance

20.01.2022 Reminder, this Sunday the 15th marks our second Young Adults Supper! Young adults at Prov Midland are invited to share fellowship after church over a cuppa tea and some cake at the Pitman’s place. 20.01.2022 The sacrament of Baptism is a sign of union with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. This union is an assurance of our salvation from sin and death, and into new life. The sacrament is like a seal that reassures a person that they are bound to Christ, washed clean, a sign of the remission of sin, and commitment to trust in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and the free gift of salvation in Christ’s work on the cross. On the Sunday before Christmas, we’re celebrating those in our community who have given their life to Jesus this year. We invite you to join us to witness and celebrate those being baptised. We’ll also get to sing songs of praise and have morning tea together after. Time to pop it in the calendar!

18.01.2022 This is happening, this Wednesday night! We're getting together to consider how Christians can share and stand firm the gospel in our secular culture of self-determinism and general suspicion toward christian belief. Join us for a cuppa tea and some light dessert as we catch up, hear from Steve McAlpine and have some Q&A after. ... Hope to see you there!

17.01.2022 Did someone say pizza? In light of having our first young adults supper last Sunday, this Sunday kicks off our first pizza night for our more mature crowd! Ian and Julie are welcoming the 50+ crowd at Providence Midland into their home for fellowship and food after the service this week to encourage each other and build community. Come along, be encouraged in your faith in Christ, and get to know others as you break bread together (a pizza base counts as bread right?). ... More info in the link below, pop it in the calendar! https://providencechurch.org.au/m/older-adults-pizza-night/ See you Sunday.

16.01.2022 Picnic after church this week! Hang around after the service and join us as we gather together over a meal. Bring a plate of something to share, we’re looking forward to spending time together as God’s people in Prov Midland! ...let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24,25... See you Sunday

16.01.2022 From the 15-29th of November, we're blessed to have Ed Surrey visiting to preach at Prov Midland! Prior to that, he spent 6 years training and working at St Matthew's Anglican Church in Perth. We're super excited, and very fortunate to have him come and dedicate his time to go through God's word with us! Thanks for joining us, Ed! See you all this week at 4pm at Swan Christian College.

10.01.2022 Meet the Elders - #4 Last, but certainly not least! Kevin and Jodi Hayward ... These guys are originals at Providence Midland, attending with their family when the church was planted in the McAlpine's home in Swan View. Kev and Jodi are extremely servant hearted and gifted in pastoral care and hospitality. Along with their three kids, they foster a few extra and still manage to support young families and young adults at Prov Midland, welcoming others into their home and always encouraging people's faith in the Lord Jesus. 08.01.2022 Today is the last day of our 1 Corinthians series: Church # NoFilter at Prov Midland. This letter by Paul has been deeply pastoral, and personally challenging. Paul flips the Corinthian's understanding that to have knowledge and spiritual gifts is a sign of spiritual maturity, and reminds them that LOVE is the foundation of true, spiritual wisdom and maturity from above. Love is the means by which God grows and edifies the body of Christ. We're looking forward to reflecting... on what we've learned this past few months, and how we can honour and glorify God in his church as we finish off the series today! See you at 4pm at Swan Christian College

06.01.2022 Hey, what's the Big Idea? On Wednesday 30th Sept, we're having our first Big Ideas night post-COVID! Come along for a cuppa tea and a catch up as Stephen McAlpine shares the topic of his new book 'Being the Bad Guys: How to Live for Jesus in a World That Says You Shouldn't'. The church used to be recognised as a force for good, but this is changing rapidly. Christians are now often seen as the bad guys, losing both respect and influence. How do we offer the Gospel to others ...as a message of hope, to a culture that is hostile and might even see this message as potentially dangerous? Steve's new book offers an analysis of our current 'Post-Christian' culture and explains key points of tension between biblical Christianity and secular culture. He encourages Christians not to be ashamed of the gospel as it is more liberating, fulfilling and joyful than anything the world has to offer. He also offers strategies for coping in this world, with its opposing values, and for reaching out to others wisely with the truth. Join us as we throw around ideas and discuss how we can be equipped with love and truth in our community as the people of God - right here, right now.

04.01.2022 Yesterday was a good day! Come join us next week for more time together, encouraging each other towards faith in Christ and spurring one another on in perseverance toward the hope we have in Jesus’s life, death and resurrection. Next week, older adults pizza night! And the week after, a church-wide picnic after the service. Check out our website events page for more info.... Yay, summer is here!

01.01.2022 Today, we’re back into our 1 Corinthians series! Picking up from where we left off last year, we’re going to be looking at the second half of the Paul’s letter to the Church in Corinth. This letter doesn’t shy away from hard topics and corrupt morality that ran rife through the Corinthian church to whom it was written. Hence, the title of the series #NoFilter - the letter challenged its audience and continues to do so today. Yet, in true Pauline fashion, Paul also provides firm assurance of the salvation we have in as we believe in and follow Jesus Christ. Join us as we get stuck into our first sermon of the series with Steve McAlpine this afternoon! 4pm at Swan Christian College, see you there

01.01.2022 Paul Young is preaching for us this afternoon at Prov Midland and continuing our series in 1 Corinthians, ‘Church #NoFilter’. See you at 4pm at Swan Christian College

01.01.2022 We’re celebrating the amazing people in our Church who have blessed us with their gifts of serving! This week’s shout out recognises the ‘pass the baton’ of the music team. Thanks Dan for serving us so faithfully over the past few years as Music Ministry Leader. Let’s welcome Aimee as she steps up to the role, and keep them both in our prayers in the coming weeks! God is so good to encourage and uplift us through our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is always worth celebr...ating, praising and thanking God for! Grace and peace, Maddy Rhodes
