25.01.2022 Throwback Thursday to 2017 taking #ledstarfalltubes on the road for the Australian Megan Washington Orchestra tour. A mammoth build in each city with 140 LED tubes suspended over each orchestra and the heavenly voice of Megan Washington made for a very special and memorable show for me. Here's what the reviewers had to say; transcended by the multitude of LED light poles that were placed across the stage and hung from the rafters like stalactites in a cave from which Washing...ton performed. Becoming an integral part of the performance, the lighting conveyed the emotional tone of each song from cascading or pulsing pinks and blues, to the bloom of golds. Melanie D Griffiths, Amplify / Megan Washington Album Tour her beautiful hand movements flowed in harmony with the spectacular sound of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and mesmerising pendant-lit stage. It was a sensory smorgasbord. Mikaela Knight, Musicinsight / Megan Washington Album Tour The concert benefited from excellent design values and superb lighting. It opened with the concert platform swathed in deep blue and purple light. Shimmering lights that changed colour, according to the songs sung, dropped from the ceiling to create an evocative mood. 23.01.2022 It may have been a very cold evening, but it was a great fun challenge and very special to take our show outside for a night and for my first time at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. #tinaarenatour

22.01.2022 The opportunity for lighting designer Peter Rubie to join this tour came off the back of a special project last year where he worked with Tina and the Melbourne... Symphony Orchestra. That project was filmed with a nine camera setup (with no audience) back when Melbourne was first coming out of lockdown and the brief from Tina for that production was that she wanted to create something beautiful, exquisite and theatrical that would enhance and help convey the emotion in the music and production as a whole.... https://alia.com.au/lighting-and-staging-for-tina-arena/

22.01.2022 Throwback Thursday. Given there are no new shows to share photos of with you for a while, I thought I'd start posting an image or two every Thursday of memorable past Lighting Designs. Here is 'TV on the Radio' in 2015 at the Sydney Opera House. #lightingdesign #lightingdesigner #stagelighting #concertlighting #beams #throwback #throwbackthursday #contemporarymusic

22.01.2022 I had such a great time working on the Reservoir Room developing some new skills. I don't normally get the chance to light purely for broadcast and it was very rewarding to build up a family of new colleagues and friends in our Season 1. I'll be sharing some photo's from that season, starting with the very talented iOTA.

21.01.2022 Throwback Thursday to 2018 lighting NED an Australian musical for Plush Duck Productions. Like the final line from this show sings 'Such is life' we should reflect on this as we experience our minor inconveniences happening around us. Yes a lot of us are still without work and are doing it tough but we must see the positives and remind ourselves of those who have it much worse in this time. Upon reflecting, one of my wishes is that hopefully as we come out of this Pandemic we can take the opportunity to develop more Australian works and support local production companies like this one.

21.01.2022 Little write up on a show earlier this year when Covid-19 was just a murmur!

20.01.2022 Some photos that have been released so far of our production of A Chorus Line produced by Darlinghurst Theatre Company with all new direction and choreography by Amy Campbell. This show has been such an incredible process to work on and we sadly did not get to open it before the government enforced regulations forced us to postpone it until further notice. The whole company is incredibly proud of what we created and we really want to show it to everyone! DTC needs your he...lp to stay afloat in this tough time though. If you can spare even a small donation (tax deductible) we might have a shot at helping them do that and get this show back on the stage after all this is passed. https://www.darlinghursttheatre.com/support/make-a-donation Hope to see you at the opening night, whenever that may be! 17.01.2022 A little production write up about A Chorus Line. We can't wait to show this new version of of the production to the world!

17.01.2022 Throwback Thursday! Yvette Lee reminded me today of this awesome George Michael tribute show we created with Craig McMahon and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra back in 2018. It went on to tour to the Sydney Opera House and most recently the Gold Coast and featured the incredible voices of Rob Mill, Casey Donovan, Hugh Sheridan, Andrew De Silva, Bobby Fox, Sheldon Riley and Prinnie Stevens under the baton of the ever brilliant John Foreman.

15.01.2022 Sometimes you get to work with artists you're not so familiar with and are immediately taken aback by their talents. Ursula Yovich was one of those. Her angelic voice and her original songs blew us all away on Season 1 of the Reservoir Room.

14.01.2022 Tonight we go live at 8pm! Head to the website. It's only $5 to watch tonight so join us! You can also get your ticket on ticketek now!

12.01.2022 My favourite performance from The Reservoir Room S01 would have to be Rai Thistlethwayte. Most people would know Rai from Thirsty Merc, but he is incredibly talented as a solo musician. On a late Saturday night he had us all in awe of his funky beats and catchy music which was a delight to light! Photos by Lila Neiswanger Do yourself a favour and watch his show here; https://live.reservoirroom.com/event/83 Best $10 you'll spend on a Saturday night in!

05.01.2022 Throwback Thursday to Paloma Faith with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Normally the Concert Hall is draped in a plain black wool canopy to help with the acoustics but for this show I added a custom led canopy driven by Madrix that scollaped over the entire Orchestra to provide an eye popping backdrop to match Paloma's upbeat and funky style.

05.01.2022 Throwback Thursday to Avi Avital with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. A concert of lightness and beauty, virtuosity and romantic sonority. #lightingdesign #lightingdesigner #stagelighting #concertlighting #throwback #throwbackthursday #classicalmusic

04.01.2022 Another Throwback Thursday to a past design. Here is Kate Miller-Heidke with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra back in 2017. One of Australia's most impressive voices along with always equally impressive headgear!
