23.01.2022 Work has commenced on the $1.5 million replacement of the Abercrombie River Bridge. The project will replace the existing low-level single-lane timber bridge, which was constructed in the 1950s, with a new two-lane concrete culvert bridge and involve the construction of new two-lane road approaches approximately 450 metres long. The $1.5 million project is jointly funded by the Federal Government, NSW Government and Upper Lachlan Shire Council, with work carried out by Oberon... Council. Yesterday, I alongside Wendy Tuckerman for Goulburn, Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor John Stafford and General Manager John Bell, Oberon Council’s Mayor Kathy Sajowitz and General Manager Gary Wallace visited the project. The Bridge is the most direct link between Oberon and Goulburn. It is wonderful to see work commence on this vital local piece of infrastructure, which, when completed will encourage economic and tourism opportunities. The NSW Government is delighted to invest to $675,000 in the project under the Fixing Country Roads program, which ensures our roads are able to carry the food, produce and raw materials that support the local community. The Abercrombie River Bridge replacement project is expected to be completed in June 2019.

19.01.2022 Who else watched the debate last night? The fact is Labor has only committed $25 million in new TAFE funding NOT $3billion as Mr Daley claimed. He also got i...t wrong when it comes to our schools. Parliamentary costings have revealed Labor will only invest an extra $495m over the next term of government compared with the Liberals & Nationals commitment of $917m. Interesting, don’t you think ? Labor cannot be trusted.

18.01.2022 Thank Heavens: Devil’s Elbow Now Open The $1.52 million upgrade to the notorious ‘Devil’s Elbow’ hairpin bend on Grabben Gullen Road is now complete, making the... road a safer, more efficient route for heavy vehicles, such as 25-metre B-doubles. The road’s alignment and its steep descent made it unsafe for freight vehicles, school buses and general commuter traffic to share this section of the road. The upgrade was jointly funded with $460,046 from the Federal Government, which included $266,546 from Round 5 of the Australian Government’s Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Programme and $193,500 from the Black Spot Project Programme. A further $540,000 was funded under the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Roads Programme, with the remaining $519,954 funded by Upper Lachlan Shire Council. Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor MP said the upgrade will open up the region’s freight access and improve road safety. The Shire’s producers and livestock carriers will especially see the benefits because they can now use this road for improved access to the South Eastern Livestock Exchange in Yass, Mr Taylor said. Straightening this hairpin bend means a safer journey and vehicles with larger loads making fewer trips. Member for Goulburn Pru Goward said the NSW Government is proud to have supported the project through the Restart NSW Fixing Country Roads Programme. Freight is worth $60 billion to the NSW economy, so building, improving and maintaining efficient freight transport networks through our region is crucial, Ms Goward said. We are dedicated to boosting local industries through targeted investments into key road and bridge upgrades, such as the Devil’s Elbow Corner. Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor John Stafford thanked the Federal and NSW Governments for their funding contributions. Upper Lachlan Shire Council had been seeking funding to fix ‘Devil’s Elbow’ for several years, Cr Stafford said. It is wonderful that the Federal and State Governments have been able to assist us in making the stretch of road safer for all road users, including heavy vehicles. I would also like to thank Council staff for their skilled work in bringing this project to fruition in trying conditions.

15.01.2022 So proud of our $10million commitment to a new Goulburn aquatic centre. Wendy Tuckerman really drove this and I know how appreciative Goulburn families will be. With our commitment to provide before and after school care at every school, including some of our smaller schools, and our increased Active Kids rebate, life for families in regional communities like Goulburn will be so much better. I’m proud to be a member of a strong NSW Liberal Nats Government that can deliver for all of us.

13.01.2022 Sarah Baines is Goulburn’s Woman of the Year and it was great to be at the NSW Awards breakfast with her husband Matthew. Sarah’s work as a financial counsellor with The Salvation Army Goulburn to vulnerable people in our community is legendary and powerful. The Governor of NSW and Mrs Hurley attended, as they always do. So proud to see these Awards grow over our 8 years in government to a stellar occasion with wonderful sponsorship and almost 500 guests at 2019 International Women’s Day Breakfast in what is now International Women’s Week. Balance is Better.

08.01.2022 Today I was with the Health Minister, the Hon Brad Hazzard MP, to announce drug and alcohol rehabilitation services for the Goulburn region. This is a $4.5m investment that has been driven by the local community with the support of the NSW Liberals Government.

07.01.2022 The Liberals are set to take Goulburn, says Goward.

02.01.2022 Loved being at the very famous Bushranger Hotel in Collector with Wendy Tuckerman for Goulburn having a great time! Publican Rob Carter and daughter Hannah produce a mean bowl of chips- the beer wasn’t bad either, I think I like Great Northern. Anyway there’s a fabulous photo of Ben Hall in the pub- and lots of fascinating 1860s memorabilia- and Wendy got to draw the meat raffle. Thank you for a wonderful night Collector!
