21.01.2022 Just a little snapshot of what I love to do the most

18.01.2022 Logo design for @piers_one. Awesome producer and beat maker from Brisbane love his work Great to work with a fellow creative and local of Brisbane. Hopefully get the chance to do more work together in the future in some way or another If you love hip hop and want to hear some crisp production or just something new check out his work on Soundcloud ... https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/YQGDyFMiDUC6x2Wb6 #austalianhiphop #beats #beatmaker #blackandwhite #brand #branding #brisbane #brisbaneartist #brisbanehiphop #design #graphicdesign #hiphop #illustrator #lettering #logo #logoinspiration #music #musician #type #typeinspiration #typography #producer #script #vector #vectorart

16.01.2022 Finding the time to do personal projects like this one can be hard. I push to find the time and get all the mundane stuff that is required in the day out of the way fast and efficiently. Once that is done I have the time to create and put my ideas into action. Working hard in other aspects of life to create time for the good stuff. Working to become a freelancer is challenging but it does give me added motivation when I’m at my day job. Having that side hustle and having som...ething to work towards outside of my normal job makes things easier. They both feed into each other if that makes sense? While this is all good I still need to be mindful and realise that some nights I should just go to bed. Rest is important. I used to stay up too late and suffer the next day, it’s a balance between going hard when you can and easing off when required. Finding that balance, a bit of planning and a little sacrifice (not binge watching tv series) is the best way I can put in the work when the opportunities arise. That’s my version of the Hustle I guess. Hustle Harder is something that you’ll see on social media often. I’m just chucking in my two cents and giving a little insight behind my work. What does the hustle look like for you?

14.01.2022 Put together a bunch of footage taken on my iPhone from over the last year or so. Starting to use premier pro a bit and loving it! Music: https://soundcloud.com/dixxy-2

14.01.2022 A little inspiration post for the start of the year. I heard this quote when I was listening to Atomic Habits by James Clear. It was a coincidence for me listening to this book and hearing this quote at this particular time. As we all know the resolution wagon can steer off course by the time we get to February. It’s happened to me a few times. I’d just pick a goal and see what happens, nothing. ... So, I stopped the resolution thing. I wasn’t creating the habits and daily rituals that contribute to achieving my goals in the longterm. Listening to this book I’ve unknowingly adopted some good habits over the years so it turns out. Getting better 1% every day was the main take away for me. This is going to be a big year!!! yeah nah. This year will be more of, getting better slowly but surely. So what are the habits and daily rituals I’ve adopted? Diet, exercise, meditation, reading and sleep are the fundamentals that I try to adhere by every day. Sleep is a big one, even The King, Le Bron James say it’s the only thing he doesn’t compromise on. Outside of my fundamentals would be lettering/drawing, study, photography and writing. Bad habits include checking social media (which you’re reading this on), haha and watching a T.V. series for too long, I’ve been avoiding that Mandolorian guy for weeks now. Not to mention looking at my phone while people are trying to talk to me, are you doing that now? I forgive you. On a personal level, things I want to do more of and improve in would be boxing, surfing, travelling and photography. So this year its just business as usual for me no new years resolutions and no unrealistic goals. Just working on becoming 1% better every day while walking slowly but never backwards. So, What habits would you like to adopt? What’s the most important habit/ritual you have? Have you seen the Mandolorian yet? All the best in your new habits, Piri

11.01.2022 Finally got around to posting some pics of my backyard project. Will be making more of an effort to get more pics up in the near future! Kinda forgot about these haha #typography #graphicdesign #muralart #art #lettering #type

10.01.2022 There is detail in every piece I create. Whether it is a mural, logo, branding package or anything else. My goal is to communicate your message through typography and tell your story. Get in touch if you have a project in mind!

09.01.2022 A recent submission for the latest Typism book. I made the shortlist but didn't make the final cut. Ironic it says Never Give Up haha I'll have another crack next year. I got a copy at the Typism conference and there is some amazing work in there! They have done a great job of compiling all the work and making the book a complete body of work. There are so many great lettering artists there it must have been a hard job to pick the final pieces. ... If you want to check out anything Typography check out the Typism Global Community page they have built up an amazing community and you can see all the awesome lettering artists from around the globe.

08.01.2022 Here's a project I did recently at The Lodge. This cafe is well known in the area as "The Gap's Local". It was a pleasure to immortalise this message in their cafe! If you are a business owner looking for something similar or know of someone who this may be of interest to, drop a comment below!

07.01.2022 Playing around with some type composition. I read this in a book not too long ago and thought it was pretty useful. And of course, something cool to draw! I'm sure everyone tends to rush things so it's a good mantra to say to yourself when we do tend to rush things. On further research a term used in Jiu-Jitsu by Navy Seals and Mark Walberg when he's a sniper ... Hope everyone had a good holiday break. Ready for the New Year!

01.01.2022 A logo and branding job from not too long ago. A fair bit of detail but it works well this kind of industry. The branding assets are a lot more basic which compliments the logo. ... . . . . . . . . . #badge #brand #branding #brisbane #brisbaneartist #brisbanebusiness #boar #boarsofinstagram #design #logo #logoinspiration #graphicdesign #hunt #hunting #huntingseason #illustrator #knife #knives #knivesofinstagram #wild #wildlife #wilderness See more

01.01.2022 Another inspired piece from my recent trip to Bali. Tried to recreate some styles of a lot of lettering I saw around, stickers etc.. Awesome spot to surf or just kick back, watch the sunset and have a beer love it, can't wait to go back! Bintang or San Miguel?

01.01.2022 I’ve been working on chiselled letters lately Love the shading and detail you can put into them. More so when there’s a double drop shadow not that I used in this number but I will be using that technique in the future. Also, I’ll be doing a lot more photography. This post got the most interaction I’ve ever had on Instagram so if that works I should just probably keep doing it ... I never liked putting finished work into a photo, I thought peeps were trying to pass it off as real sketches But it’s just a better viewing experience and I guess if you want to get your work out there you gotta go with what the platform rewards. I still chucked in some vector work though of course
