Even if you didnt get the Game of Thrones reference we can all agree, winter has arrived and most of us dont like it. Gone are the long summer days, hours at the beach and backyard barbies. Winter is traditionally the time to rug up in your slippers, trackydacks and dressing gowns while watching too much television and eating hearty food but why stick to tradition?

23.01.2022 At the age of 16, Heather Troupe received a diagnosis of chronic severe depression and a prescription for an antidepressant. Eight years and nine kilograms later, she was sleeping poorly, felt a lot of anxiety and had lost her therapist because of insurance complications. Looking to "fix herself", as Troupe, of Knoxville, Tennessee, put it, she began using an elliptical machine every day at the gym, hoping to sweat away what was ailing her. Today, Troupe, 33, has been medicat...ion-free for nine years and credits her daily exercise habits with helping her achieve mental health. "Exercise has been the biggest piece of the puzzle for me," says Troupe, who is now a fitness instructor. "Its a place for me to funnel all that extra energy energy that would otherwise turn into sadness or anxiety." http://www.stuff.co.nz//can-exercise-cure-depression-and-a

18.01.2022 The study, published in the journal Cancer Research, found a reduction in the levels of a blood protein involved in angiogenesis when overweight and obese women experienced weight loss through diet and exercise. Angiogenesis is the process by which damaged blood vessels are repaired and new blood vessels are formed. Without oxygen and nutrients, both healthy cells and cancer cells cannot survive. These cells send out signals, called angiogenic factors, and it is these factors that encourage new blood vessels to grow and cancer cells to grow into a tumor. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/311663.php
