Make sure you are aware of the signs that your dog (or cat) may have been bitten by a snake: - Sudden weakness followed by collapse - Loss of bladder/bowel control - Blood in urine... - Vomiting - Dilated pupils - Weakness or shaking of the muscles & difficulty blinking - Salivation, drooling, or frothing - Respiratory distress - Paralysis See more

18.01.2022 Correct socialisation and boundaries between the age of 6-16 weeks old for puppies can greatly reduce fear and dominance aggression in your older dog!

16.01.2022 These are some pictures from our classes in puppy school! Owners can learn useful information to help them raise their puppy the best they can, and puppies can learn great socialisation skills along with some tricks!

13.01.2022 The first PuppySchool for 2020 is one day away! Sunday 16th Feb 10am. It will be great to see some new socialisation, adorable sits and discuss tips and techniques to guide your puppy into becoming a welcomed member of the family!

12.01.2022 Hello everyone, It is with disappointment that I must inform you of the cancellation of the upcoming Puppy School classes at Tuggeranong Vet Hospital. We hope you can understand that this is a part of our response to COVID-19. Unfortunately, Puppy School involves a lot of close contact and shared toys/materials. Along with this, our waiting room currently remains open to the public for essential treatment of client’s pets. Due to these reasons, Puppy School currently does not... satisfy the health restrictions being implemented by our practice to ensure we can continue to stay open during recent events, and, therefore, cannot go ahead. I feel very passionate about giving every new dog owner the best information and advice to help their puppy become a valued member of the family. Please remember to find safe places and other vaccinated puppies/dogs to expose your puppy to during their crucial socialisation period of 8-16 weeks. Use positive reinforcement and ignore unwanted behaviour.

11.01.2022 Have a look at the video below to further understand more about your brachycephalic dogs, e.g. Pugs, French Bulldogs, and Boxers. This shows that the problem cannot always be seen, as it can present in the soft palate area of the mouth, and is not always due to the size of their nose being too small, as is commonly misunderstood. Make sure to speak to your vet about possible early interventions (e.g., brachycephalic airway surgery).

11.01.2022 Happy New Year! Puppy School at TVH will be restarting in February 2020. Looking forward to meeting more beautiful puppies and their families! Classes will be held on Sunday mornings, with a possible night class during the week or on a Saturday afternoon, depending on interest. Please send any questions or enquires to the email below if you are interested in booking for February (your pup should be between 8-16 weeks old when attending puppy school, so please keep this in mi...nd when choosing a booking date).
