25.01.2022 Bit windy today Preston and myself. Same same but different

24.01.2022 Happy International Day if the Dog!! I thought it was about time I introduced these two cuties and what better day than today Daisy is a 3yo Border Terrier who’s a little timid about the new world she’s found herself in. She was a very much loved pet who unfortunately is not suited to young ones. She’s been an absolute dream for her foster family who has tween boys. She comes from an only dog home and is good with other dogs but honestly not fussed in being with them. Daisy... will hopefully looking for a home soon. Lahnee is a 14wo English Bullterrier. This little wreaking ball is an absolute snuggle muffin. Lahnee came into our care as she is deaf. Her breeders reached out and asked for our help, and I had the perfect foster home for her. She’d become a little bit of a terror head and needed a lot of work to make sure she understands what is appropriate. As you can imagine, it’s very hard to teach a puppy that they can’t bite when they can’t hear you. Thankfully her behaviour is improving in care and her training is going really well too. So please join me on International Day Of The Dog and welcome our little ladies into care. Please note that they are not currently available for adoption.

22.01.2022 !!ADOPTION APPLICATIONS CLOSED!! NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS WILL BE TAKEN AFTER THAT TIME. PLEASE READ...Continue reading

Can’t even begin to tell you how much I miss my babies but I’m ever so grateful to their new families for keeping me updated.... It’s certainly a lot quieter here.

11.01.2022 Meet Zappa, he’s our newest addition to come into care from our local pound. You wouldn’t believe it but he’s our 5th 13yo old dog in care over the last few months. Other than old man ailments, I don’t think Zappa will be in our care very long at all. ... Zappa will be listed for adoption once his carers work out what type of home will suit him best. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Zappa into our care

11.01.2022 Hi Facebook people. My name is Duke and I wanted to let you know that I passed my final vet assessment with flying colours!!! I’m so excited to tell you that me and my 2 brothers will be looking for new homes. Our foster mumma said that we will be listed on the Facebook page tonight!!... We are 13 week old greyhound pups. I had two sister too but their foster families decided they wanted them to live with them forever, so it’s just us boys still looking. So keep an eye out on this Facebook page in a couple of hours (5:30pm 18/8/2020) for our adoption post. Mumma says there is a lot of people waiting for us. Can’t wait for my forever home.

10.01.2022 Daisy is now ready for her forever home.

10.01.2022 !!ADOPTION APPLICATIONS CLOSED!! NO FURTHER APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE TAKEN. OVER 60 applications in less than an hour ... We will be inundated with applications as there are a stack of people waiting. Applications will be closed as soon as we have enough to assess, if there is not a suitable application in those we will reopen the link. We apologise in advance if you see this post after applications are closed but in fairness there is only one dog for hundreds if not thousands of people. Rocky SOURCE # - RE100217 MICROCHIP - 956000006430248 DOB - 1st May 2017 COLOUR - Black and White BREED - Poodle/Maltese/Shihtzu ADOPTION FEE - $600 Rocky is desexed vaccinated and flea treated. He has been vet checked on the 11th of august and given a clean bill of health. He does have a small overbite (bottom jaw). Given that his coat is fast growing, we would recommend he is groomed every 6-8 weeks to keep his coat matt free and healthy. Rocky is fearful of new people and new dogs. Once he learns he is safe and won’t be harmed he is fine. As a result of his fearfulness he can be reactive on lead. Older children only, 10 and up. He requires a home that will not push him to do things he is not comfortable with. He will never be a dog that enjoys going to a dog park or having doggy play dates. We recommend that anyone visiting is supervised and not allowed to approach him, he will come to them when he feels he is safe. Next vaccination is due August 2021 Worming and Flea Treatment due 1/10/2020 PLEASE DO NOT CALL IN REGARDS TO THIS POST

10.01.2022 After being neglected for so long, they deserve to be pain free and happy. We will get them well enough to find their forever home. Wookie and Lacey went in for further surgeries today with the amazing Dr Sandy at Bacchus Marsh Veterinary Centre. Lacey has been drooling a lot and hobbles for a little after waking up. After sedating her, Dr Sandy discovered her mouth was full of little ulcers. She has taken biopsies and sent them off for testing. We also done X-rays on her... elbows and they are pretty yucky looking. Lacey is currently on medication for her mouth and then we will start her on carprohen for her joints. Wookie, this man has had so much to over come, he’s almost there. After a few weeks on thyroid medication he’s starting to look more like a dog than a gorilla. All the fur that he was missing from his chest, neck, bum and tail has almost grown back. Today we took him in for another blood test to check his thyroid levels and they were so good Unfortunately his eyes have been really bad again. He has had yet another facelift to pull the extra skin from rolling into his eyes. His ears are also really bad again he has so much ear trauma before he came that one of his ears is all twisted and knotted up Fingers crossed that we can get our big kids well and into a forever home. I know that the family that finally gets to welcome them home will be forever filled with love and laughter, just as they have bought us. Wookie and Lacey’s vet bill’s have cost us thousands of dollars. None of this would be possible without your support amd the amazing vets that we have looking after our dogs. Thank you xoxo

08.01.2022 Boff is most definitely the most goodest of boys. This very handsome old man has been through some of the worst things, yet he still looks at me every day with the most hugest of smiles. Boff came into our care a few months back. He had to put on apt of weight before he was able to go in for his vet work. Finally, two weeks ago, he underwent desexing and removal of a huge mass on his chest (second photo). ... Fast forward to this weekend just passed, and I noticed he was again having trouble going to the toilet. I took him to the vets on Saturday and his Vet Kate discovered that all the pushing and straining he’s been doing had caused a tare and his bowel pushed though it (lump in the shaved section on the third photo). Today he was taken in for surgery by Dr Sandie. She informed me that this is common in older, undesexed male dogs, however given where he came from, his past history of eating foreign objects has not helped. Unfortunately for him it looks like the other side will rupture and do the same. Given the surgery and how involved it is, only one side can be done at a time. Thanks to the amazing vets and nurses at Bacchus Marsh Veterinary Centre, I know our dogs have the very best of care at our fingertips. Hopefully our goodest boy can push though this so we can give him the best life that he has always deserved xx

02.01.2022 Two new faces to introduce you all too. Please join me in welcoming Happy and Jemma to Puppy Tales :) Happy is a 2yo Maltese x Shihtzu. He has a clean bill of health and will be available for adoption soon. ... Jemma is an older lass who ended up unclaimed at our local pound. She’s got terrible dental disease and is a little on the skinny side. We have her booked in for surgery and blood tests on Friday. I’m the meantime she’s settled in beautifully in her foster home. Welcome little paws xoxoxo
