24.01.2022 Photographer Paul Stephen is the master behind the front cover photo of our new printed visitor guide and he returned again recently to capture more Granite B...elt photo magic with a group of mates in tow. Havent seen our latest Visitor Guide? Check it out here https://bit.ly/2B9eU3x Last week, 6 mates and I ventured off to Girraween National Park, about 3.5 hours southwest of Brisbane. The highlight of the trip was watching the sunset from the top of Castle Rock, one of the many scenic treks of Girraween. Easily one of my favourite hiking destinations in Australia! Girraween National Park is located in South East Queensland in Granite Belt Wine Country, just 2.5 hours south west of Brisbane.

23.01.2022 ..... And we are open! Come along for a coffee, sweet treat or light lunch. Its a beautiful day with beautiful art on display.

20.01.2022 BORDER TOWNS IN THE SPOTLIGHT // With all the talk this week of borders, we thought we'd share our favourite things about our border town, Wallangarra. A gorge...ous inland country town on the Southern Downs and Granite Belt, sitting on the NSW / QLD border- here's some things to do: Visit the Wallangarra Museum Cafe at the historic Railway Station. The border markets are held on the first Sunday of the month here. (in QLD) Drop into the "Just Red Wine" vineyard for a glass of their highly sought after Tannat (in QLD) Stop at the Queenslander sign for a selfie! (in QLD) Remember: The QLD border is now closed to all NSW, VIC and ACT residents, so if you intend crossing the border make sure you have the right permits. Here's where you can find out more about Qld border decleration passes: https://bit.ly/30up5cQ Southern Queensland Country - SQC #goodtogo #bordertowns

18.01.2022 Once again, I was invited to participate in Heritage Estate Wines monthly Dinners where good food, great wine and genial hosts are your companions for the night.... Combined with the ambience of the winery - the open fireplace, the historic table that played a part in the early history of Queensland and the steel beams in the ceiling that were destined for the Sydney Harbour Bridge- it is an event not to be missed if food and wine is your muse! This month - It was a 5 senses degustation dinner on offer with 6 courses of delectable food with matched award winning wines, wonderful table companions and some fun with Le Nez du Vin between courses ( guessing the aroma of flavours that can be tasted in wines). Live music added class to a delightful evening. Limited numbers so book early to reserve your seat at the table for the next function. #heritageestatewines #sqcountry #southerndownsandgranitebelt #granitebeltwinecountry #goodtogo #glendarphotography #stanthorpe #granitebeltwines #coolclimatewines See more

18.01.2022 HAVE YOU VISITED OUR REGION IN BRASS MONKEY SEASON? You know.... as in cold enough to freeze the you-know-what off a brass monkey! We're just past mid-winter ...and the current temps & winds are certainly helping the Granite Belt live up to it's reputation as the coldest place in Qld! Why not grab a mid-week booking and take a road trip to the Southern Downs and Granite Belt to really experience winter. Check out some things to do during Brass Monkey Season while it's still here. https://bit.ly/3jHYfWl

17.01.2022 What a gorgeous little spot for lunch! Right on the border of Qld / NSW, this old railway station is now a quirky little cafe with some great priced meals. And yep there is a police and army presence here on the border, certainly interesting times we live in. Granite Belt Wine Country

11.01.2022 TREE CHANGE TRIAL // If the lure of living in the country is calling you, now's a great time to take a break to the Southern Downs and Granite Belt and see w...hy people are swapping urban crowds for green open spaces. We love the town of Ballandean. It is in this area, just to the south of Stanthorpe, where Queensland's first commercially grown table grapes were harvested. Grapes have been grown in the Granite Belt since the 1870's, thanks predominantly to the arrival of Italian settlers. Imagine having a vineyard as your neighbour!
