25.01.2022 Something to bring a smile to your day, I hope.

25.01.2022 The information regarding the Ekka being cancelled is out - This will be only the 3rd year QCWA has not conducted the Ekka Refreshment Room Stall - now the Eats and Treats Cafe since 1922. The first cancellation was during World War 2 and the second time was when the RNA demolished the QCWA Tea Rooms to make an Emergency Exit from the ring. That is an amazing tribute to the QCWA Women who have volunteered for the Association over that 98 years. Consider this: the QCWA involvement began with the ladies packing a vegemite sandwich in a brown paper bag to make sure visitors to the show could buy a lunch. I can only presume it was accomanied by a Cup of Tea. Very different to what we do today. I know we will see all our wonderful volunteers again next year. So until then stay safe - well and happy. The year of the sheep -

24.01.2022 QCWA Pine Rivers was represented at the open day for Emergency Services at the Hope Centre Rothwell. We set a out a display of "what we do" and handed out information on QCWA. A small display on Country Kitchens was featured also. Luckily we took a Gazebo as it was so very very warm out on the bitumen. .

02.01.2022 Wool a natural fibre and an easy care fabric these days. Remember when you washed a jumper and it no longer fitted you but your sister 5 or 10 years younger. Great strides have been made to the care required for woolen items in your wardrobe. Support Australian industry and consider wool.
