25.01.2022 If it's important to you, you'll make the time...

20.01.2022 If a particular door ain’t workin......... Go find another

19.01.2022 ATTENTION: Admin at the Crossroads Church hall have asked us to cancel classes today (although official lockdown doesn't begin until midnight tonight - Thursday, 27 May). According to current Victorian government restrictions, all classes will be cancelled until next Friday, 4 June (hopefully). Will advise further as we can. Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding in these matters; we apologise for any inconveniences. Keep well, all and stay safe. Hopefully, this short lockdown will be enough to open things up again soon.

19.01.2022 I found this post in a Filipino martial arts page, but it applies to all of us who follow the martial arts journey...

18.01.2022 OK, people - we reopen for classes as from today! Are YOU ready??? Let's do it; we've got almost a year to make up for!

18.01.2022 What do you fear? Some have the fear of failure, others, the fear of success (yes, very true for some). What is it that you fear? Use that fear as a catalyst for action; make it the stimulus for your growth and development. Without it, your potential cannot be reached. Fulfill your destiny; let us help you harness your fear.

18.01.2022 Gone waaay too soon. Very sad news to hear of the loss of one of our students, David James, son Sam. He left behind his partner and three young children. In lieu of flowers or other tokens of support, if you wish to donate to a fund to help support his family, the link is there below. Farewell, Sam James, you will be missed by many more than just your family. Rest in peace...

18.01.2022 Let’s all be a little nicer.

17.01.2022 Words of wisdom from someone...

14.01.2022 ATTENTION: Students and followers of the Academy - due to the latest updates from the Victorian government today (9 June), the Academy and its branches in the Melbourne area will remain closed until midnight, Thursday 17 June. Hopefully, all restrictions which keep us apart will be eased by then, and we will be able to resume face-to-face training again. This restriction applies to all adult and children's classes at their respective branches. But that doesn't mean that YOU cannot keep up your own training in the meantime. Try things out, formulate your questions, see if you can answer your own queries. There is still much training that you can do until we meet again! Keep well and stay safe!

13.01.2022 A nice video by Sifu Mark Phillips from the UK, about the difference of training a martial art and training for self-defence. It's a mental separation that is often confused by practitioners. Why do you train; what is your main motivation for training; do you understand the differences?

08.01.2022 Kudos to my student in NZ, Stu Dunn! 16 years teaching this year - well done, Stu; keep up the great work, spreading the word across the Tasman. Richard Entwistle and Carl Billington are direct students of Stu's, both who are stand-up, ethical instructors in their own rights. Way to go, Kiwis!!!

08.01.2022 From an article written on me in the Greek martial arts magazine, Mavri Zoni (Black Belt), during a visit with my dear student and friend, Sifu Brebos Panagiotis (seen in the photo with me) a few years ago. Cannot wait to return to see our Hellenic brothers and sisters again.

06.01.2022 "Qian Li" means "hidden talent". It's there, inside of all of us. Let us help YOU find all that latent strength that lies dormant in you.

06.01.2022 Our Hellenic brothers, in Greece and Crete, glad they're able to get back to training. Good luck and train hard, guys!

03.01.2022 After almost a year, due to Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown, the Qian Li Dao Academy is happy to announce that we are resuming face-to-face classes again!!! Our Werribee/Hoppers Crossing classes, both for children and for adults, will resume as from Monday, 1 February 2021. We also want to inform you that we will no longer be at Wyndham Park Community Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will be returning to the Grange Community Centre on those two evenings, as well as ...on Saturday mornings again. The renovated centre there, which will give us a larger room and is a more centralised location, are the reasons for our return to the Grange. Monday and Thursday nights will resume again at the Crossroads Uniting Church hall in Werribee. Please see our Where & When page on our website for all the details on where we will be, on what days. Information on our Bentleigh class resumption will follow soon. There will be certain protocols to comply with Covid-Safe procedures as we resume classes, and with regards to trial lessons. Please contact us by phone or email if you have any queries. Current students will soon receive an email or call regarding these updates. Looking forward to moving forward with you all again, as we resume our Kung Fu journey together again!!! See you soon!!!

02.01.2022 Persistence... stay focused on the goal... the rewards are immense!

02.01.2022 ATTENTION - Our Bentleigh branch is also cleared to resume training and classes will re-commence there as from Wednesday, 3 February. Looking forward to seeing our eastern suburban students and followers back again soon!

01.01.2022 Substitute Wing Chun (or whatever martial art you train, or want to study) for Jiu-Jitsu. As I've often said to you, we all started at that same place - that first nervous, fearful lesson. It's what you do after that one that makes the difference.
