25.01.2022 A message from the committee: Dear all, We hope you are well and staying in good health. The QKC committee have just had their first online Zoom meeting to discuss the year, plan for the upcoming AGM and pull some ideas together for the future. We will be sending you an email shortly to invite you to the online AGM (with mystery guest artist and QKC-themed trivia) with all the information you need, so please keep an eye out for this.... In the mean time, we wanted to check in with you and see how you are going? Are you and your family well? Have you had any interesting musical experiences lately? Is there any exciting news you want to share with the choir? Please let us know how you are faring during these very interesting times. We have so missed singing with you and seeing everyone regularly at rehearsals! We hope you can join us online at the AGM so that we can share a drink and a song! All the best QKC committee

21.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that the QKC Alumni event will be held at All Hallows School in Brisbane. There is plenty of parking on site and the reception and concert will also be held here. Looking forward to seeing lots of old friends on the day. 18.01.2022 We had a great time at the first Big Chilly Sing held in Tenterfield. We made music with workshop presenters James Cuskelly, Fay White, Jane Thompson and James Rigby. What a great day of singing!!



17.01.2022 QKC ALUMNI DAY - POSTPONED Due to the unforeseen circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and the advice from the government regarding large gatherings, the QKC Committee have regretfully decided to postpone the QKC ALUMNI DAY. The committee are proposing to change the date to Sunday 18th October, pending the management of the virus and advice from health professionals. ... We do hope that everyone continues to sing and stay healthy during this time, and we look forward to sharing more information about the QKC ALUMNI DAY in the near future.

02.01.2022 A message from Else Shepherd, Director of Harmony in Paradise, Dear Singing friends Harmony in Paradise is very sad to announce that the Gold Coast Big Sing 2020 will not go ahead on Sunday 17 May. The good news is that we have rescheduled the event and the new date is Sunday 8 November. Our two amazing presenters are still available and the venue will be the same. mark the date in your calendars!... Lets hope these difficult times have come to an end by then and we can celebrate together with some joyful singing. Good health and plenty of toilet paper (and chicken and pasta) to one and all. 02.01.2022 Il Trittico Performance - Thursday 16th January Cuskelly College of Music and the Summer School Music Program to present Puccinis Il Trittico, last performed in Queensland in 1960. Young singers from all across Australia will be presenting the first complete staging of Puccinis celebrated Il Trittico this week in Brisbane. Featuring three one act operas - as well as the celebrated aria o mio Babbino caro - this promises to be an unforgettable experience for some of Aus...tralias finest up-and-coming talent. The Cuskelly College of Musics Summer School has been presenting staged operas in Brisbane since 2017 and is one of only two to do so in Australia for young singers. The show takes place this Thursday evening (16th January) at St Aidans Anglican Girls School in Corinda at 5:30pm. Tickets are available from the door and priced at $5 (concession) and $10 (adults). The operas have been directed by two of Australia most internationally renowned opera singers - Cheryl Barker AO and Peter Coleman-Wright AO - will be accompanied on stage by a full symphony orchestra. Dr James Cuskelly OAM, director of the Cuskelly College of Music says this is a remarkable opportunity for aspiring young singers to work with world-class musicians in a full production of challenging repertoire.
