08.01.2022 While 2020 was a relatively quiet year for most, we were busy behind the scenes working on some epic installations. The most significant project by far was the refurb of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Spread out over six levels and covering a massive 17,500 m2 it was Qld Flooring’s biggest fit-out to date. Replacing the old carpet with a high quality carpet tile from Interface, laid in a beautiful colour pattern that matched up on all levels. We are stoked at the end result, and more importantly so are the crew at the Convention Centre, showing that here at Qld Flooring we provide high quality services in not only domestic installations, but commercial fit-outs as well.

05.01.2022 1994 Flashback- GOVERNMENT HOUSE, ACT Taking you back to 1994 when only a third of our Qld Flooring trio even existed, and one of Russell’s most prestigious jobs of his career. The luxurious fit out of Government House in Canberra, ACT. This was by far the most intricate refurb he’s done to date, displaying incredible detail and some serious skill. The Governor General at the time, Bill Hayden, wanted to restore Government House back to its original glory after previously be...ing modernised. With an architect who specialised in the period that the house was built overseeing the job, Russell and his business partner at the time Morris worked on site on and off for over a year. Using a custom made, 3 foot wide Axminster carpet, a lot of patience was practiced, making up the pattern for each individual area, even going as far as sewing the joins on the turns of the stairs to ensure the pattern would match up perfectly and the carpet would flow down the stairs.
