25.01.2022 Many people are often involved in a person's vision to manifestation. There are the people that tweak ideas, add information, create drawings, assist with tea breaks etc ... shopkeepers who assist you to find what you need, accountants, business coaches and more. We are all assisting each other in small and big ways. We may not even realise our impact. We may say a sentence that was the exact piece of information another required for their creation to work. We may never know our full impact. Recognise the people who have been a part of your journey. #assistingeachothertocreate
25.01.2022 There are many ways we can use, caffeine, food, cigarettes ..... to regulate our emotional stress and unease. Be mindful today and notice if you are needing to have caffeine breaks for example to deal with underlying stress. Increased caffeine intake can give us warning signs our stress/anxiety is increasing. You may be tired, overworked, unsure about a relationship, wanting to set a boundary at work, resign .....Just observe and maybe breathe consciously too ... deeper, slower, longer ... and see what comes into your conscious mind. Write it down and notice each time you have caffeine what else comes up and write it down too. Enjoy becoming more conscious of you today! #beconsciousofcaffeineintaketoday #caffeine #mindfuldrinking #mindfulness #conscious #breathe #stress #emotionalregulation #emotions #warningsigns #anxiety
25.01.2022 Life is magical. Try to always be curious about the wonders it constantly reveals. I love the "And how does that work?" Or "Wow" and "but why?" There is so much we can relate to and gain some understanding about, then repeat that curiosity all over again. Curiousity is the youth supplement for health. Try being curious and not knowing rather than having to know. Ask questions to people who understand a particular interest well. It's exciting to learn, and life will always pro...vide learning. That is what you can count on from life-learning #youcancountonlifeforlearning #mentalhealth #curiousity #psychology
24.01.2022 Self responsibility requires directly asking for what you need, rather than hoping you will receive it. It means actively participating in your life, learning about your emotional and physical self in order to express yourself to others and to take responsibility for what belongs to you. It is harnessing the power of your adult to support your inner needs. #selfresponsibilityfeelsgood #selfsufficiency #selfresponsibility... #power #ask #needs See more

22.01.2022 For anyone who enjoys learning more about consciousness and the idea that a new paradigm is necessary to understand the Universe we live in will enjoy Dr Robert Lanza talking about Biocentrism. He looks at the perfect architecture of the Universe and our connection to each other. He talks about needing to move away from the idea that the Universe is random and occurs by chance. He discusses time, space, death, the power of the observer. It is thought provoking and may lead you to check out his work further. #biocentrism #consciousness #paradigmshift #universe
21.01.2022 When we incorporate structure into our life it increases our sense of wellbeing. We can relax into the organisation we have created, which promotes calmness, focus and intent. Work organisations who have clear structures have employees that know what is required of them, what is their responsibility and what is the responsibility of others. More information can flow through established structures and enables a sense of order which assists our nervous system to manage stress m...ore easily. When there is too much structure it can feel rigid and controlling just like too little promotes a sense of unease, chaos and stress. Some structure is required to manage stress and wellbeing. Incorporate some today by planning the flow of your day, watch what happens. Even blocking out time for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will create rhythms. #structureincreaseswellbeing

20.01.2022 https://www.linkedin.com//pooja-mehra-67b214127_personalde I love this video - a really easy exercise to get you into a great position to start typing. If you find yourself slumping whilst sitting and typing at a desk, take a look at this video, it will be worth it. #supportyourbackatwork
19.01.2022 If you are interested in Jungian Psychology, a beautiful book is Carl Jung, Wounded Healer of the Soul by Claire Dunne. She writes a biography of his life, using his words and ideas and creates wonderful imagery of his important work that to this day is still so relevant. #CarlJung #psychology #soul
18.01.2022 Check out this video by Eckhart Tolle talking about fear and how to manage it. This can be helpful if you are finding yourself in fear of what could happen in the future due to employment changes, health concerns, money fear etc.... https://trk.klclick.com/ls/click
17.01.2022 I just completed two days of great training at the Institute of Emotionally Focused Counselling on Working with Shame. For anyone that is looking for getting great quality training check out www.ieft.com.au. Shame is such an important emotion to be able to work with in therapy, as it is an interpersonal issuse, with its roots in early attachment leaving the person feeling flawed, wrong for being who they are, and it affects a persons sense of worth. Learning to work with it well infuences client outcomes, so if you are interested take a look at the Institute. #counselling #shame #ieft
17.01.2022 The way we greet people matters. Do we have eye contact, are we standing up straight, do we smile when saying hello? All of these actions create an environment from which people will respond from. Saying hello, creating warmth in your tone and body language creates an impression that can enhance business connections/outcomes and personal friendships. #thewaywegreetmatters #bodylanguage #hello #mentalhealth #wellness #wellbeing
17.01.2022 This small action has huge benefits to our well-being. Smiling relaxes the body and releases the four happy hormones, serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins, improving our mood. Just by changing our facial expression it can impact our feelings. It is a simple action to take alongside counselling to increase long term psychological health. #smilingimprovesyourmood
17.01.2022 Images can feel powerful as we can create pictures to inspire and we can create inward or external images that can work at destroying ourselves through hate and jealousy. Our understanding and beliefs will assign how much power is aligned to the image which shapes our life. They are the lens we make sense of the world through. The key is that the power is directed by you, by your subconscious. Your own life is potential and power, and when the power is expressed with less charge due to low frequency thoughts and beliefs potential can be suppressed, however potential and power still exist. So when beliefs are changed more energy and freedom is experienced and more potential and power is accessed #youcanchangeyourlife #beliefs #potential #freedom #frequency #images #power
17.01.2022 A powerful example of working with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy. I have used this way of working for twenty years and it is very powerful way to access the main issues and sources of conflict. 16.01.2022 Dr Bruce Lipton, developmental biologist and the author of The Biology of Belief is interviewed by Michael Sandler talking about the Subconscious Mind. Dr Bruce Lipton was talking about Epigenetics 20 years before it was discovered as a science recently. Dr Lipton talks about how our perceptions create our reality. As a scientist he walks you through how this takes place by taking you through inside cells, his idea that the cell membrane is like an information processing ch...ip ( the interface between the outside and inside) and his new understanding of how the environment (environmental signals) is controlling our genetics, not genes controlling life. He takes people out of being victims into recognising how much power to change your life you actually have. Take a listen it is really fascinating. #changeyourbeliefschangeyourlife #Epigenetics #DrBruceLipton #Subconsious #Control #Powertochangeyourlife #illness #health #victim #empowered
15.01.2022 This weekend what will you be doing to reduce the stress hormones in your body? Doing something relaxing, exercising, taking deep breathes, monitoring your triggers to stress, catching yourself when you have perceived a threat and then intervening with deep breathing all assists in decreasing the flight, flight and freeze response. Let's decrease the reactivity in our amygdalas by choosing actions that assist us to reduce anxiety levels rather than increase them.... Let's move into the weekend with more awareness. #bemindfulthisweekend

13.01.2022 How do you manage stress? When we are tired, burnt out, vulnerable we may be quick to react. Tolerance decreases. Just notice if you are quick to anger and be curious if boundaries are needed for self care. We can also be triggered into increased tension through the fight, flight, freeze response through a memory or by our anticipation of what might happen, our interpretation of our experience. Breathing exercises and self talk help to decrease the Amygdalas reactivity.... What do you do? Do you flee? Do you have the desire to want to escape, find the exit and run, from a meeting, or a boss or a relationship? Or do you fight? Do you become intimidating, dominate, show your power over? Or do you freeze? Seek reassurance, cuddle in for support due to it all feeling too overwhelming? Reflect on how you react to stress, how your fight and flight response may get activated. Our responses are necessary when we are in danger, the issue though being that we maybe in survival mode alot of the time which exhausts our body. There may not be life threatening danger however we are responding as if there is. Understanding how we respond from a memory or our thoughts and visualisations assists us in learning how to respond differently. Breathing interrupts the process through the parasympathetic nervous system calming the body and assisting the body to recognise that you are safe even though you may feel uncomfortable. Over time it starts to decrease anxiety and reduce reactions. Let me know what you do. #managingtriggers #photography #nature
13.01.2022 Diving into water when we are hot can bring with it the anticipation of cooling down, of feeling better. Yes there is anticipation which can be accompanied by anxiety of how cold the water feels and then there is relief, relief at feeling cool, joy at meeting our needs, of feeling more comfortable . When we are assisted with change in counselling we can feel that same anticipation of feeling anxious and then comes the relief in understanding what is occurring in the current s...ituation. This bring with it the potential for new choices, new ways of being, less anxiety, less symptoms. What we are actually in anticipation for is being comfortable with having more; more space in ourselves for receiving better outcomes, more happiness, better experiences of love, having our needs met, less reactivity and symptoms. Remember Receiving is also an experience worth learning. For those that water brings up fear for, learning to slowly work with that fear brings relief too. The goal can be - being able to stand at a distance to water at the beach and then meeting that and being with those sensations. Each step brings a sense of accomplishment and heightened well-being. #receivingisanexperienceworthhaving
12.01.2022 As we get near to the weekend, be mindful of the need to, let loose, be unrestrained, not controlled by the responsibilities in life from work, family, friends, kids. This can lead to treading the paths that lead to Sunday morning feelings of, what just happened? What did I do? And resolving not to next week. Rituals can feel soothing, the righting of a perceived imbalance that swings too far into responsibility and therefore must swing the other way. Be mindful of repeated rituals. Having fun, releasing stress is vital to our well-being, just notice if some fun is really bringing you back what you need now. #bemindfulofrituals #mindfulness #rituals #patterns #addictions #mentalwellness #photography #nature #weekend
12.01.2022 I am a believer in Brain training and have felt the effects myself engaging in games that enhance executive function. I have tried the brain app called BrainFitLife by Dr Amen from The Amen Clinic. I was able to track my progress and felt the benefit of engaging in exercises that targeted specific areas. There is an assessment of your brain function through questions and a recommendation on the best areas to focus, suggestions of brain games, supplements and exercise/food ideas. Other brain apps are Luminosity which this article uses in their study and there is Cognifit to mention a few. Give them a go, they really do make a difference.
12.01.2022 Take a look at this documentary, Heal. Tracey Noonan interviews doctors, researchers and others as they discuss how the body can heal. They look at the impact of people's perceptions and how what we belief and feel impacts the health of the body and how more and more evidence is showing this to be true. They turn to look at our mindset when healthy eating, great lifestyle, exercise still doesn't change certain health conditions. Having to get to deep held emotional beliefs, traumas, experiences assists the body to decrease inflammation, stress and more. Its definitely worth a look. #heal #documentary #psychology #mentalhealth #wellbeing
11.01.2022 It's just a hop, skip and jump to something new. Action is always needed to begin a new process. It's great to have an intention for change and then comes the first step to move towards it. It can feel challenging however reaching the first hop is the beginning step. Arrive there, and take another step, move in your timing always remembering your intention and vision. You will get there. #actionisrequiredforchange #motivation #knowledge #deepthoughts #process

09.01.2022 Technology, teenagers and parents is a topic that is at the forefront of alot of discussions, in schools, work, media, and in the counselling room. 08.01.2022 In life We often get warning signs before something happens. For example 'Dangerous current' warns to take care in the surf. To not swim in these areas. This allows us to consider new information and to make decisions taking this into account. However sometimes we can rush into situations, not seeing the signs. Not reading the cues along the way. Repeating the same mistakes. Wondering, how did this happen? Like swimming and getting caught in the rip, and then seeing the sign... when we are out from shore. Or noticing how you are always asked to cook at family gatherings and you don't want to. Notice your own participation in this happening, agreeing then feeling resentful. You are getting signs to set a boundary, a limit for yourself. Or agreeing to working later at work or taking on too many tasks where the body is crying out for rest. Only later do we sense the exhaustion when all the tasks for others are done. Try noticing the signs of your body, clenched fist, tight stomach, headache, sore neck. Notice what is being said by the body and how can you take these signs into consideration. Rather than rushing into being pleasing, or avoiding a challenging conversation. Notice how your body, will reflect your limits in physical tensions. #noticesigns #physical #signs #body #limits #boundaries #avoidance

04.01.2022 Shine a light onto your own life. You are the star and author. As the author, we can at times be our own worst critic, giving our own life the worst star rating. Remember you are the star, director, author of your own movie, be mindful of spending too much time as the film critic. If you need to change the direction of the movie, you can. When we are critical we tend to repeat the same story line instead of creating something new. Our lives are full of complex drama, adventu...re, mistakes, learning, transformation, love and more. They are rich with experience. Look at your life through kind eyes and appreciate the beauty of it all. #youarethestarinyourownlife #youarethestarinyourownlife #belief #knowledge #perceptions #science
04.01.2022 There were two tawney frogmouths who were regular visitors to this branch, now there is one. Loss can be a very painful time, the loss of a job, friend, relative, partner, animal ....Everything can feel different, the world no longer the same. Relating to others can feel like a big effort, emotions can swing, motivation can be low. This is all normal and yet everyones grief is uniquely there's. If over time things still are feeling overwhelming think about having someone to walk beside you through the grief, witnessing you through remembering the importance of the connection. #witnessinggriefwithcare #grief #remembering #care #emotions #tawnyfrogmouth #pain #witness #connection #loss #feelings #photography #nature
01.01.2022 Elizabeth Blackburn was recently interviewed in the Weekend Australian Magazine by Cameron Stewart on her work in biology, stress and ageing. Elizabeth was awarded the Nobel Price in Medicine and her book The Telomere Effect is on my shelf as a great read. She explains the role of Telomeres and Telomarase. Telomeres beling like the tip at the end of shoelaces, "little caps at the end of chromosomes that keep the genetic material from unravelling" ("The Telomere Effect") an...d they also shorten with each cell division, leading to cells ageing. Telomarase beng an enzyme that helps keep the telomeres healthy and long. Elizabeth with Elissa Epel, a US pychologist did studies on Parents with ongoing psychological stress with chronically ill children and how they coped and parents with healthy children. "They found that the longer a mother was in a stressful situation regardless of her age ....or percieved her situation as being more stressful, the lower were her telomorase and the shorter where her telomeres"(Cameron Stewart) This would lead to faster ageing and immune related and inflammatory disorders "Humans could therefore change the way they age at a cellular level depending on the life they lead". Cameron Stewart This is a great book, showing how much more scientific knowledge we have on stress and ageing and how we can influence the process. They talk about ways of keeping your telomeres long and healthy over your life. They look at stress, anxiety, depression and offer ways of managing them differently to benefit your health. They describe a challenge mentality to meet life's stresses. Check out "A Revolutionary Approach to Living Younger, Healthier, Longer The Telomere Effect by Elizabeth Blackburn and Elissa Epel. #ageing #stress #telomeres See more
01.01.2022 Love is when we feel deeply connected to another being. Love is subjective and is acted on through the filters we have from our present understanding of what love is. Sometimes love can be mistaken for control, or other harmful actions. Through experiencing this kind of love people can redefine it over time to understand that love is always respectful to differences, never harmful, and understanding is it's language. Self love is necessary to love and be loved with respect an...d value. #loveisrespectful #intimacy #mentalhealth #differences #instagood #photography #nature #love #selflove #respect #valueyourself #understanding #deepconnections
