19.01.2022 Good things come in pairs, says that old Chinese proverb, and we surely agree with it! As part of a $12 million upgrade to the Scenic Rim water network, were building two new reservoirs in Aratula. Were also building a new reservoir in Boonah and upgrading an existing one. But thats not all thats in the pipeline; a new 1.3km water pipe will be built in Birnam Range along with refurbishment works at the Albert River Reservoir. It was great to see the first sod turned o...n this major project last Thursday. Were excited to be working alongside our delivery partners Downer and WSP, at a time when job support and future growth is so important in our communities. Stay tuned for more project updates! 18.01.2022 Who knew a treatment plant could look so beautiful! This is the Boonah plant that treats the sewage from the local community in the twin ponds seen below - but the surrounding land is used for so much more. The plant manager Troy and his team are working on some incredible projects, innovating ways to support the community and local wildlife. The treatment plant is home to the hay bale project, where native grasses are grown on site, baled and then donated to local farmers ...for drought relief. The treatment plant uses solar panels to offset the energy consumption used to run the plant - accounting for about a third of the daily energy used. The ponds are home to local turtles looking for algae to eat - last year over 1300 long neck and river turtles were recovered and rehomed to nearby river systems. AND the site reuses 100% of the treated effluent as recycled water, sending it off to the local golf course and farms. A great example of waters circular economy in our rural regions. Its definitely not your traditional treatment plant!

06.01.2022 Thoughts? Feelings? The idea gave us anxiety at first, but its actually quite a neat concept!
05.01.2022 UPDATE 7.30PM: Were seeing water supply return to the area, however it may take time for the network to refill. Sometimes there can be air in the pipes after we work on the network, so customers are encouraged to please turn on the tap closest to their water meter for a couple of minutes until their water supply returns. If this is not the case, please send us a message with your address or call us on 13 23 64. EARLIER: Were aware some customers in Jindalee, Oxley, Mount Om...maney, Sinnamon Park and Seventeen Mile Rocks are experiencing no water or low pressure. Our crews are responding to a burst pipe and are working to restore supply as soon as possible. Were really sorry for the inconvenience caused this afternoon.
05.01.2022 Update: this has now been resolved. Our website is currently experiencing technical issues which is impacting customer access and web chat. Were working to restore services as quickly as possible, and appreciate your patience while this happens. For faults and emergencies contact us on 13 23 64 or feel free to private message us directly through Facebook.

04.01.2022 How gross is this footage? Almost 400 fat blockages have been cleared from the sewer network in the last 12 months. While the cold increases the likelihood of fatbergs forming, the problem originates from pouring oils and greases down the drain in the first place. A costly lesson if it clogs your household plumbing! Next time youre on clean-up duty, wipe your pans with a paper towel and pop it in the bin. Dont feed the fatberg!

We’re working closely with Seqwater to monitor the creek levels and town water use in order to respond should the creek stop flowing Seqwater is ready to start tankering drinking water to Canungra to maintain town supply If Seqwater needs to take its water treatment plant offline, we plan to maintain direct access to the Canungra tanker filling station for local off-network households Commercial carting operators will be directed to use alternative filling stations, with the closest being in Helen St, Beaudesert
