21.01.2022 One way we like to challenge our groups is with a communication and problem solving activity. Raft building and rafting. We run this activity at most of our locations across Victoria, just ask us about running this activity for your school, or next school camp. The activity involves a re-enactment of history, where the students participating in the Lighthouse Keepers Themed program, come across a pile of equipment that has washed up on shore (not really), and they need to build a raft to find the supplies for the Cape Otway Lightstation that have also washed up on shore up the river further.. :) The students work together as a team to build their rafts using rope and the equipment on the beach, and then race up the river to collect the barrels of supplies. An awesome team building activity for all ages and all abilities.

21.01.2022 Phillip Island Nature Parks Rangers & the Quest Skills for Life facilitators are educating 50 Year 7 students from Melbourne this week on their 3 day school camp program. The students get great behind the scenes, up close and personal insight into life as a ranger, learning about their roles & responsibilities, and then taking turns in being a Head Ranger as part of the Leadership & Development Program.

21.01.2022 We attended the Outdoors Victoria conference over the weekend. It was great to see so many passionate outdoors people there. We had some great conversation around our sector, including issues we are currently facing and what the future looks like. It was great to meet everyone that can and said hello to the bright green crew.

20.01.2022 From the Victorian State Budget released yesterday, a $148.3 million Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund will help over 200,000 disadvantaged students receive access to out of classroom learning. Like the Victorian Government, Quest Skills for Life has an ethos on helping more young people get outdoors and get active. This fund will assist with the financial burden some families carry, as a result of the high cost of education. "Too many kids are finding out what disadvantage means the hard way, when they dont have the right uniform, or dont get to go on school camp with their friends." - Premier of Victoria
