17.01.2022 The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is opening the new Arid Garden which features 1300 cacti and succulents. Some of the plants are so rare that they’re no longer found in natural habitat. Three quarters of the plants were donated by Robert Field whose father, Ralph, developed an interest in cactus about 1910 (after reading ‘Boys Own’ magazine) and then started collecting the plants in the 1930s.
