24.01.2022 Congratulations to our team of capstone students from AMB359 Strategic Marketing who were offered employment by Queensland Youth & Family Support Services Inc., who were the client for the unit. The organisation were incredibly impressed by the high level of professionalism and skill provided in the project by our students. We also had a further number of students employed by The Plant People from this same unit, also impressed by the quality of candidates in this cohort. Were very proud of our recent graduates, who worked so hard to secure fantastic positions.



24.01.2022 As Semester 2 is about to start on July 20, our unit coordinators have been busy in their teaching preparation behind the scenes. Dr Sven Tuzovic has also put his creative skills to the test by creating this video to welcome his students into AMN442 Marketing Management.

20.01.2022 When QUT partnered with the Re:act program, Advertising Copywriting Students focused on distracted driving. Students were challenged to create a behaviour change campaign to raise awareness of the critical road safety issue of distracted driving amongst 18-25 year old road uses. Professor Gayle Kerr added, "By exploring the problem of driving distracted in a logical, strategic and creative way, students not just created a great advertising idea, but hopefully, a whole new strategy for their own road safety". 14.01.2022 Congratulations to Dr Robert Mitchell who was officially granted the higher degree award of Doctor of Philosophy recently. Robert is a very valuable member of the AMPR community, lecturing and tutoring in units such as AMN405, AMB220 and AMB320 with great student evaluations. He has also published from his PhD work on gamification in the Journal of Business Research. This is great achievement and very well deserved.

13.01.2022 Our current PhD student, Jorge Carlos Fiestas, and his supervisor, Dr. Sven Tuzovic, proposed a shopper journey framework and developed four personas of mobile-assisted showrooms that provide retailers with new strategies to segment mobile-assisted shoppers more effectively and understand their needs and shopping motivations. HEA fellowship is a recognition of individuals who are able to engage with a broad understanding of effective approaches to learning and teaching support as a key contribution to high quality student learning.

12.01.2022 Wheres your sense? asks Kate Walters, Paulus Pearce, Mea Clifford and Macey Robinson-Stewart. These Advertising Copywriting students created the campaign to raise awareness of distracted driving amongst 18-25 year olds. Paulus said, The research backed up what Id already been feeling, that I am in my own bubble when Im listening to music and that can potentially be dangerous. 05.01.2022 Our Adjunct Professor, the Father of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), Prof. Don Schult passed away on 4 June. Prof. Gayle Kerr shared in Dons obituary: "He brought his understanding from working in the advertising and media industry for many years, augmented this with his academic integrity to research and discover new ideas and concepts, added his love of teaching and sharing ideas, and overlayed all of this with a kindness and generosity that made everyone feel special." Some employees may even display anger, thereby compromising service performance. This conference was meant to be held in Brisbane in July on the topic of the Future of Human Services: High Tech and High Touch. Adam Penberthy is a long-time guest lecturer and friend of AMPR who has gone from CEO of his own advertising agency to being co-owner of the first City Winery in Brisbane since 1860.
