01.01.2022 Always remember where you came from.

01.01.2022 A story from my own family history. Do you want to find the stories in yours? Lying on the bedroom floor with his head surrounded by a pool of blood, John Warren grabbed his neighbor by the shirt and said You’re my murderer. On 16th March 1861, at almost midnight, police arrived at the home of John Warren and his wife, Sarah, to find that John was lying on the floor, undressed as though ready for bed. From the amount of blood on the floor and the condition he was in, the p...olice thought that he was dead. John’s nose had been nearly cut off his face and he had a further wound on the left side of his neck which had been caused by a piece of paling wood. He was removed from the premises and taken to Cornwall Hospital in Tasmania where he was in no state to provide any information as to who was responsible. The two police who had attended the scene, were unable to determine who had caused the injuries to John so all the occupants of the surrounding three houses were arrested and taken to the watch house. These included; William and Bridget Tulip, Robert Horne, Charles Mills, John Lewis and Sarah Warren (John’s wife). Four days later, John came to his senses and upon being told how many people had been arrested for the assault on him, promptly told police that it was his wife who had caused his injuries. Sarah Warren was never convicted of the injuries received by John as he gave evidence that it was accidental.

01.01.2022 We are all made up of those who came before us.
