06.01.2022 Race Radio celebrates 200 shows. The internet motorsports radio programme Race Radio hits a significant milestone tonight with the airing of the shows 200th episode. The program, which has a world-wide audience, is probably one of the countrys best kept secrets but has been on air now for over four years after starting as an idea between Streaming Australias Andy Ticehurst and the shows host Brett Swanson.... Its hard to believe that we have been doing this for over four years on a weekly basis every Wednesday night, stated the host. When we started this it was just a combination of our love of all forms of motorsport, especially dirt track speedway, my background in motorsport journalism and Andys expertise in the IT and streaming field that brought the whole package together. At times we are a bit opinionated, okay - very opinionated, and largely irreverent but we have a lot of fun putting the show together and we are fiercely independent and I think thats part of what our listeners enjoy, Swanson continued. Along the way weve had a few on-air regulars who we thank sincerely for their help and direction but with our current squad that includes rising young media identity Brain Van De Wakka, the vivacious Kaylene Oliver and the Sage Grant Woodhams, we think weve got all aspects, perspectives and views covered. 04.01.2022 Another team owner walks from depleted V8 Supercars Series Walkinshaw Racing is set to undergo a surprise shake-up following a decision by James Rosenberg to surrender his #222 license to V8 Supercars ahead of 2015. Rosenberg did not enter his Racing Entitlements Contract, which currently underpins Nick Percats HHA/Coates Hire Holden, by Mondays 2015 entry deadline.... The combination of a lack of REC revenue and a difficult sponsorship market has seen the car run at a significant loss, which had to be underwritten by the South Australian businessman. Although annual revenues of up to $500,000 have been promised to each REC holder from next year, the teams struggle to lock down a full commercial package has seen Rosenberg elect to call it quits. While the move leaves Percat without a seat despite a strong rookie season, Walkinshaw may yet continue with four cars. Charlie Schwerkolt, whose #18 REC has run out of Ford Performance Racing for the last two seasons, has been strongly linked to the vacancy along with his recently signed driver Lee Holdsworth. Schwerkolt is yet to clinch a primary sponsor for 2015 and is thought to be seeking a more economically viable alternative than remaining at FPR.
