24.01.2022 Hi there, Im afraid the situation regarding Covid-19 has got the better of us. It is with regret that we are having to cancel this years Race the Rubeena.... While we are under the 500 participant limit, a number of factors have made it more difficult for us to host the event. We hope to be back next year so keep and eye on your social media platforms for any news. 23.01.2022 Hi there. At this stage and with the latest news in mind, Race the Rubeena 2020 will be going ahead on March 29. Our event is limited to 300 participants overall- which will actually be split into two smaller gatherings as the 10 k starts at 7:30 and the Race the Rubeena event starting at 9. ... With other larger events being cancelled Rubeena 3.0 is an option for you to consider. If the situation changes we will let you know and if we are forced to cancel, rest assured you will receive a full refund. So. Consider your options and if it suits you join us on March 29. 23.01.2022 Oh!oh! This is serious peoples. Looks like theres a new sherif in town (well a boat actually.) Not only will the poor old Rubeena have 250 odd runners to beat, itll now have the oarsome crew from the GIppsland Waratahs Dragon Boat to best too!!... The ladies will be lining up under the Swing Bridge on Sunday March 29 to add an extra challenge to the running community. 22.01.2022 Those of you that know the route taken by the fun run will be familiar with this site. This project is aiming to replace some of the graffiti covered walls with art that will hopefully enhance the experience of visitors to the area (Swing Bridge, Wetlands etc). Come along on April 18 for some or all of the session and see what its all about and make a contribution or two.... Our artist Jeremy Kaspar is working on preliminary designs from suggestions that came out of the first two workshops. Pop in via Zoom on Saturday 18 to find out more. 19.01.2022 Hi there.Unfortunately, the current bush fires and smoke issues in Gippsland have lead the organising committee of this years race to postpone Rubeena 2020 until March 29th. I appreciate that this date may not suit everyone (and that it clashes with Run for the Kids!) but it was the earliest date available that did not clash with other running events around our region and other commitments for the Rotarians who will be volunteering on the course on race day. If you have ente...red the event and you are not able to be with us on March 29, you have three options: 1. Ask for a refund which we will happily provide 2. Gift the entry to a friend to take your place 3. Leave the money where it is and see it as a donation to our fundraising effort - once again supporting the Sale Hospital. I do apologise for this change and hope you will continue to support Race the Rubeena and be able to line up with us in late March for a great community event. However the Wetlands Track is still a lovely place for a walk or cycle, on your own or with family- allowing for social isolation of course.. Get out and enjoy the new path surfacing too. Nice and fast for runners or cyclists! ... Stay healthy.
