22.01.2022 Progress has been made. 5sec coming soon! Well done TPBTD!!!

21.01.2022 Tuff Truck write up! Well, where do I start with this.. in all my years of building cars, never have I ever worked so hard or been so determined to make a dea...d line. In the few weeks leading up to the event I had every part of my rational side saying theres too much work, its untested, dont be stupid. But these thoughts were quickly over ruled by desire, determination and the will to not disappoint. A lot of people honestly dont know or think of all the extra things involved with spending big hours building a car. I literally spent 3-3.5months working 12-16 hour days, 7 days a week straight trying to keep up with customer jobs and get time on my buggy to keep progress flowing. This takes a hefty toll on so much more then you think. Your body starts to ache, your mind is a constant battle of you cant vs you can, your normal everyday things you do at home like the dishes or even the laundry get left, you miss out on opportunities or events, but probably the most difficult is the effect on your loved ones, especially your partner. Im so lucky and so incredibly thankful that not only was my girl so understanding and encouraging, she helped pick up all the pieces that I was just too busy to deal with and I cannot express how great full I am for this, thank you Kizz. Emotions aside, the week leading up to TT was absolutely insane! The first pic in this post was taken monday afternoon (4days before tracks started) and the motor hadnt come out yet to access a few joins for proper welding yet. As mentioned before, determination is one hell of a moral booster!! Tuesday seen Shane from @eagles auto electrics come and express wired 85% of the car. Shane literally dropped everything at short notice and came out to get some wires laid and I am so thankful your efforts mate! Like myself Shane is a perfectionist with his work and I know he wasnt fully happy with the outcome, but understood that time just wasnt on our side and done what he could with what he had. Wednesday seen the big rigs first fire up since December last year and at this exact moment, I was filled with so much hope and motivation that it might actually get there. Wednesday night seen the arrival of my secret weapon Perry, we worked through the night piecing the car back together and at 6am Thursday morning I needed to get back home to pick up kiz and take her to work, perry shot back home for a shower and few hours of sleep (the bloke literally drove from Cobar to Newcastle and then pulled an all nighter on my car) I continued on piecing the car back together through the day. Realistically at this point, that fat lady was singing but I wasnt ready to give in yet. By Thursday night there was still so much to do but we pushed it onto the float and took off. I was welcomed at the gate by about 30-40 people with a cheer and I tell you what, it hit me right in the feels!! We got to the pits and a massive amount of fellow competitors immediately dove straight in and started working on the car, with every second person yelling at me to go to sleep (at this point id been awake for about 49-50 hours) so I reluctantly crawled into bed whilst these amazing people continued to assemble my car. At this point in this post, I need to say thank you to anyone who swung a spanner or even handed a spanner to help put this car together. To anyone that offered help, picked up parts, organised stuff, thank you! From what Im told, the three main people that need a mention here are Zac mayo, Mitch Gregory, and big Steve, the effort these boys was huge. (If there was others I apologies as please remember, I was asleep. ) The support and encouragement from everyone was very overwhelming and to be honest Im still in a bit of shock that so many people were so helpful. Friday morning I awoke and unfortunately in the mad rush to get there a heap of parts were left behind, it was at this moment Id secretly admitted defeat but for some reason I just wanted to get it somewhat together. Maybe just able to drive it in the lil creek in the pits was going to be enough of an accomplishment so I spent the Friday still working on it. By Friday night I officially admitted defeat and spent the night with the girl watching a few runs at the night stage to try and remember what it felt like to relax. Saturday I jumped on the mic and had a ball, Saturday night after changing the plans multiple times due to my car not driving, I was able to ask my girl a very important question and very huge thank you to all involved that helped make it happen. So for those that arent aware, to actually drive TT for me has been a 9 year wait. I started slowly collecting parts or devising plans for a car and in 2010 Id made the decision that I would one day drive in this event. Unfortunately despite my best efforts, its going to be a 10 year wait. Im bummed yes, but Im also optimistic in that I now have time up my sleeve to work any kinks out of the car, and more importantly, learn it. Some tech info on this car. Its previous version was better known as team weapons grade, a yellow TJ owned and driven by Nigel. Before that you would have known it as the ABT fire truck a red TJ driven by Matt Pisani. Everything from the previous version except the fuel tank, radiator and seats has been used in this build. I found no reason to change it. Driveline is an LS1, built t400, 5:1 atlas, dana60s with Detroit lockers, solid industries steer arms (now customised) Cs clearanced for around 46-47 of lock. This vehicle is running the very first ever Australian built d60 axles and yokes made by PJ's Off Road. These things are a work of art and I cannot thank Pam and Allan enough for their help getting these axles sorted for the car. Tires are 42" treps supplied by Troy at Ol mate 4x4. Yet another big thanks to Troy for big boots. Cage/frame is made 1.75x2.6 CDS with every structural piece plus a few more double skinned with 1.5x2.5 CDS in hope that I can beat on this thing without too much issues. Craig at Racetech Steel needs a big shout out for the hook up on the toob! Dave from Designfab for all the little parts I needed. Paul from Down South Motorsports Australia for the quick turn around on new shock shafts. My Navi Matt for getting the panels and Cs painted. They look amazing itll be a shame to take them off! My entire in-law family for the help throughout the entire build. As mentioned before my buddy Perry aka Mr Chicken. Your efforts on this car were just insane! My good buddy Greg aka Mr Pyro for the loan of his beloved Bob so that I was able to work back at night and get home. Pitty for help throughout the build and welding the fuel tank up. Rhys for the effort on the spanners and helping with the panels. And most of all my now fiancé Kizz for being so understanding and encouraging. Hopefully have the big girl out driving real soon! 11.01.2022 Wow, had no idea how weak they are. Be careful driving your UTVs with the stock cages folks. If you’re looking to upgrade, give us a call. We can put you in touch with quality fabricators who use high tensile tubing and build great cages for any UTVs.

11.01.2022 A few weeks ago we had round 2 of the Racetech Steel URS rock crawling series held at Central West 4wd Park near Mudgee. This was a new location for the event a...nd it turned out to be an awesome weekend with some insane drives, lots of carnage, and some wicked saves! The boys from team #438 Licence to Frill recently purchased thier new rig and competed in the Rampt Customs Legends Class for the first time, and didnt they put on a show! Heres a neat little vid of them coming through the 5th and finish gate on the last course saturday afternoon. The rules stipulate that the vehicle can only pass through the finish gate under its own power. The starter motor counts right? What an awesome effort from the boys and we hope to see them at our next event at the 2019 Sydney 4WD and Adventure Show on the Tough Dog mountain. Tag a mate that wouldnt throw in the towel so easily! 02.01.2022 A long run of Pb's came to an end last weekend with that sloppy final pass. Check out this sweet video by Mark Wilkinson

02.01.2022 So we didn't have the best weekend with the car this year at TT. Our awesome crew were chasing issues for the majority of the weekend from the computer issues t...o the fuel pump blowing fuses mid track and then the water pump kicking it in. But we persevered and got the car to every track and I'm so grateful for the crew for not giving up when I was ready to. This weekend may not have been the result we were hoping for but I've learnt alot and am keen to get some more seat time once the car is running properly. I do need to say a huge thank you to Jim for being my nav - keeping me level headed through all the issues we had with the car and still managing to make me laugh when i didnt want to. You know he's a dedicated nav when he dyes his beard hot pink I am looking forward to working together a bit more and seeing what we can do with the car. I'm so proud that Marshall and Don placed 14th in that big bus even with the couple of issues they had. And of course I'm unbelievably proud of Riley and Jordan in our old zook. It's such a little reliable buggy and I'm stoked that he has ended up with it. Looking forward to the next year! Off Road Vixens Team ABUSE All Barred Up Racetech Steel MAXXIS Tyres Australia
