21.01.2022 What does this mean for travel? A COVID-19 vaccine being produced by Pfizer that could have a 90% success rate at stopping the spread of the virus may just be the green light that we need for international travel to help open up as normal in 2021. News of the vaccine potentially opens the door to international travel and the opportunity to get back in the air, on the road, and exploring again boosting the world economy and rebooting the travel and tourism indu...stry. aside, there will undoubtedly still be so many questions to answer around the complexity of what happens next. Will it be compulsory to get the vaccine if you want to travel? Will you need to have been vaccinated to travel from Australia and to enter specific countries? Will you need to have been vaccinated to get insurance? Will some people even want to get the vaccination at all? Clearly, creating, testing and distributing a vaccine is only half of the battle to safely re-connect the world and get people travelling confidently again. BUT The positive news is, this could be what we need for the world to reopen once more.

20.01.2022 As a 70's baby, and a History buff, this is pretty cool! Bookshop discovers ANSETT AIRLINES’ INFLIGHT BAR MENU FROM THE 1970S. The Inflight bar menu has since gone viral, after revealing the crazy cheap prices of Alcohol at the time. The menu was posted to Facebook by Canty’s Bookshop in Canberra after it was found inside a Charles Dickens book. Even taking inflation into account, if the date is correct, these prices are still dirt cheap by today’s standards, according... to news.com.au, which reported a 30-cent beer can in 1975 would equate to $2.17 today. Unfortunately Ansett entered voluntary administration the day after the 11 September terrorist attacks in the US in 2001, with reports indicating it was losing $1.3 million a day. Can you imagine the state of some travellers if the pricing was this low by today's standards? Even taking inflation into account, if the date is correct, these prices are still dirt cheap by today’s standards, according to news.com.au, which reported a 30-cent beer can in 1975 would equate to $2.17 today. 03.01.2022 An one-way Trans-Tasman travel bubble will be in effect from the 16th October allowing travellers from New Zealand to visit NSW and the Northern Territory. This now means travelling New Zealanders will NOT have to quarantine for two weeks upon arrival into Australia. But the changes will STILL NOT allow Australians to travel to New Zealand until the NZ PM, Jacinda Ardern allows us Aussies to enter New Zealand. Here's hoping it will not be too soon.
