25.01.2022 Another job out of the way an old Far North Hobbies FMH Walkers meat Van. I think I have had it for about 20 years! The decal fell apart and I just let it sit unfinished...But by chance the guys from SDS had a decal set I think it was some sort of test decal as the SDS vans I weathered at Liverpool looked pad-printed! The artwork was very fine and clear...However this decal would let me finish the model even if it was not to the standard of the SDS RTR It would do me as I model the mid to late 80's the wagon is going to form part of a long forgotten meat works diorama and would be in a very poor state of disrepair anyway. The weathering may be useful for those of you that have SDS wagons I mostly used a light tan and gray then a top coat of white pigment to tone it all down.

25.01.2022 Hi all, I have a sneak peak at a disused station I have been working on...It's not finished but close I still need to add some details to the station and some point rods from the signal box.

21.01.2022 Hi all, another day another post!! I have been burning the midnight oil on a few jobs. Yesterday Aaron from In Front models asked how long until my wine tanker kit would be finished, so I finished it last night. I used AR bogies in the end as they matched the photo I was using but the rest is from the kit. As usual with an In front model it was top notch in all regards..However I did make a mistake as I got confused with one part of the instructions and it was 99% finished before I noticed it! So Let see if anyone can pick up on it, I don't think it is easy to spot and I happy with the model...Well done In Front model! Keep them coming!!

20.01.2022 Another SDS van with a 1980's vandalism twist ...My fiddle yard has a watchdog but his missed this one!!

20.01.2022 Just added another "How too" for the NHEF coal hopper. We can Thank Bob H for this one. http://railsinscale.blogspot.com.au/

19.01.2022 Hi all, Thought I would post up a Tichy Model Group Steam crane kit-bash into a N.S.W.G.R "Brownhoist" 50T crane. Not a 100% representation of the N.S.W.G.R #1080 unit but close enough to look the part.

19.01.2022 Another Easter weathering project finished an SDS 36’ BITUMEN and HEAVY OIL RAIL TANK CAR. Weathered from the photos on the SDS order page.

16.01.2022 Hi all, More on the 46 class weathering...one more on the way!!

15.01.2022 Hi all, just a quick note..I have ended all water slide decal listings on Ebay as it was getting to much to explain to about 80% of ebays what they have bought & what the decals are and how they need to be soaked in water. No one ever sends a nice polite question asking what they have bought and how to use them! Most of the time it's a rude comment...I never say back did your read the dam listing!!! I also get people buying the AMPOL and Golden Fleece sets for 1:1 scale fuel... pump restoration and then sending a nasty email to say they are to small and where I should stick them....Listed under model trains HO scale but who reads the info when there is nice pictures. So If you want any PM me or see you at a show. Next year I will draw up a better how to use decal paper and re list them on ebay (some people still read listings) but for now I'm to busy. Cheers Dean See more

15.01.2022 Hi all, The last in the 46 class weathering 4602 hope you have enjoyed the posts and been inspired to do some weathering of your own. Remember my blog spot has some weathering tips just click http://railsinscale.blogspot.co link. I also have 3 K&M mechs from my old resin models so if any of you have been lucky enough to pick up an "as is" 46 at a show off the Auscision models stand at a show and want to part with it please let me know. ...Cheers Dean

12.01.2022 Hi all, Thought I would though up some photos of an Auscision models candy 46 class, what an outstanding model I have owned a brass 46 in the past and a lot of resin jobs and this is the best I have seen....I am just blown away by the detail. I have always had a thing for the 46 and remember looking at the new brass units at Bergs many years ago saying nothing will ever top that. My hat go,s off to Auscision Models for the body detail it is just superb and they may just have made me eat my words...But hey it was about 30 years ago!!

11.01.2022 Hi all, New products..PC small toilet based on Mount Murry, NSWGR large Water tank and curved rail crossing. The Rail crossings (strait & curved) are not casting well so this has delayed the release until new polyurethane arrives. All items in photos are first run test castings.

11.01.2022 Some more weathering over Easter...An SDS Models NSWPTC NBTY 38’ Ice Chilled Boxcar.

10.01.2022 AMPOL Black Oil Tank wagon NTBF 4032.

08.01.2022 Hi all, Just thought I would post up some photos of some Southern Rail Models NPRY hoppers I have weathered. Nice well detailed models...Well done Southern Rail...two thumbs up!!

08.01.2022 Hi all, Something different...Bill posters 2 sets one 1940/50's and one 1970/80's. The 70's and 80's includes those gig posters that were taped to power polls...They were the true pub band days everyone had a good time and no body got glassed, shot or stabbed. So if your modeling the 40's or 80's bring some realism to your layout with some bill posters.

05.01.2022 I'm back!! Well I can say that.. it has been a long time without a post! So I will just cut to the chase! I got out of hospital last Friday and am still on the mend. I have had back problems for about 10 years and was helping a mate out in his workshop part time he needed an experienced mechanic to help run the workshop and I enjoy working as a mechanic it has been my trade for 25 years. It was as a workshop foreman so it was light work (although I did more work then both the... apprentices half my age...The new generation thinks they are above using a broom!!! ) but the standing on my feet stated to play havoc with my back...and finished up in a wheelchair in emergency at my local hospital after a few weeks of back pain..It just went on me overnight I should have took note of the signs but instead just soldiered on only to pay big time in the long run! Anyway there is always someone worse off! I walked out of hospital only needing a walking stick!! so I consider myself one very lucky slightly burnt out tradesman who has now more time to do the hobby I love most...Model trains!!! I weathered a WBAX van by Auscision Models gave it a full work over with all the signs of a hardworking life...Just like me. LOL

02.01.2022 Hi all, Another photo of a Casula hopper! This time cement weathered. I also hope to have some promised castings released by next week...Lever crossing BCW roof and a few surprise castings.

01.01.2022 Hi all, A finished sample of the new PC Toilet...As you can see it in about the same condition as the Mount Murry station toilet it is based on! But my next diorama will be a long forgotten station on the NSW rail system and this building will match the others on the diorama. The kit will be listed on Ebay this week and priced at $25 per kit.

01.01.2022 Hi all, Just finished a Casula hopper will get stuck into the others and post more pics ASAP. I gave this one a light dry brush of silver to get the colour right before I started the weathering.
