20.01.2022 Today I wanted to talk about the experience of feeling emotions. At times they can whisk us away and we feel consumed by them and at times overwhelmed with no s...ense of anything but that present sensation in our body and mind. From a young age we are taught to push certain emotions away, compartmentalise them and being told to believe they are wrong. The practice of meditation and mindfulness allows us to practice feeling emotions as they come up with no judgement and viewing them from an objective point view. Trying to manipulate every situation and thinking we can control every scenario in life can ca...use us to feel overwhelmed and frustrated when things dont happen the way we planned. We have an interdependence on people and scenarios surrounding us at times... at work we have co workers and bosses with their own agenda, family and friends that have their own interests and emotional needs, clients that have a different perspective or expectation on what they need. In life we are provided opportunities, you can focus on what is in control which are your actions and reactions but also be open to and accept what isnt in your control and see that the universe does provide in ways you havent even comprehended or imagined yet. 18.01.2022 Time is but an illusion.... our relationship to time changes depends on our circumstances. Waiting at the doctors can feel like hours after only a few minutes b...ut a few hours with friends can fly by feeling like no time has passed at all. When stressed time can fly by but when flushed with sadness it can feel like time suspends and the clock seems to halt. No matter what we experience we can always reconnect with the timelessness of the present moment. Ever heard someone say take a few deep breaths of take a chill pill?? Next time you feel the sprint for a deadline at work or overwhelmed with a sense of sadness take a pause long enough to come back to yourself, consciously breath in and out, feel your feet planted on the earth and notice the sensations in your body. Be open to the possibilities that arise simply by being present. See more

Before youre forced to stop take a moment to become present in the moment each day and rest, recuperate, resist the urge to push through. Start by becoming aware of youre busyness, catch it in the moment and question is it really a necessity. If you absolutely have to work that extra hour or complete that next task see what happens when you relinquish that need and give yourself permission to stop and just be. What changes? Do you get a new perspective or clarity? 13.01.2022 Today I wanted to talk about the inner voice that sometimes creeps into the mind and says Im not good enough, the one that strives for perfection and trys t...o reinforce the need to fix what we may deem as a flaws or imperfections. Throughout life we are influenced through the perceptions of others and experiences that may make us feel in adequate because we are different and dont fit the social norm. This harsh inner critique can hinder us from expressing ourselves fully and stop us from achieving our desires out of fear of judgement, fear of rejection and even fear of success. What if we were to quieten this dialogue and flooded our thoughts with loving compassion and kindness for our unique quirks and individual traits or habits. The practice of meditation and mindfulness strengthens this ability, like any muscle it takes daily practice of self love and acceptance to set ourselves free. 11.01.2022 I have a saying that in life I never fail, I either succeed or I learn. Im grateful that through my meditation and mindfulness practice that I have learnt to ...reframe the way I view my past mistakes. Memories of the past deemed failures or faux pa are usually charged with emotions and if we allow it we can actually relive that embarrassment, shame, guilt or anger but this practice teaches us to calm these emotions and challenge the stories we continue to tell ourselves that can contribute to our present situation and warp how we can experience future scenarios. We can step back from it and disassociate from the emotion and with this focus we can choose to focus on what we have learnt and how we have grown from the experience. Next time you feel the pang of regret and get caught up in what happened in the past, realise that it is only just one step along your journey through life and have gratitude and compassion for yourself to how it has helped shaped you into the person you are today. Appreciate it as a source or wisdom and growth. See more

03.01.2022 Today Id like to talk about meditation and peoples resistance as they cant get into the practice because of the external environment The incessant noises li...ke the trucks going past, children screaming, phone buzzing, local tradesmen hammering away.... yes it may feel easier in an all calm and serene environment to slip into a state of relaxation with total silence but the practice of meditation assists us to grow our capacity for discomfort, our ability to find peace in the chaos. This practice teaches us to be with life just as it is which is often noisy and distracting. So guess what?! The best way to do this is to practice in these environments, just observe what sounds come up and listen in a non reactive way, be open to the distractions and use it as an opportunity to focus back on your breath and guide yourself back to that internal place of calm and quiet. Overtime youll be able to call upon that inner calm during your practice and throughout your day more easily and effortlessly. See more
