09.01.2022 The countdown has begun This Saturday the 28th, when the big hand strikes 12PM, the scales will be switched off at Gardiner Fisheries Rainbow Beach for the 2020 Whiting Championship. With over 140 fish weighed in from a record number of entrants already, the competition is heating up this week and competitors have been focused on making sure every fish caught secures them a spot in the MYSTERY WEIGHT division.... Father and Son, Chris and Jed dropped in on Sunday and increased their chances at taking out the mystery weight prize pool. Great work. From 11AM, the BBQ will be firing. With ice cold drinks on hand, plenty of music and a great line up of guest speakers, this will be the place to spend your Saturday afternoon. Come on down and help us to say thank-you for your support in what has been a very challenging year, and to celebrate with the winning competitors. Without entrants there could be no competition. 07.01.2022 After Releasing a huge amount of fish during the Comp competitor Jack Stewart decided to keep a couple for a feed. This 57cm Jack is the longest for the Comp so far! however at 2.569kg it couldn’t bump off Kevin Brooks fish that still holds as heaviest at 2.804 kg got the catch and weigh division. What’s super cool is .... the other Jack that he caught was tagged... we’ve taken the details from it and have relayed them to Suntag for the relative info on this fish.... let’s see how much of a interesting life this fish has had
