Dear all I hope this email finds everyone well and coping OK during these challenging times.... I returned to work yesterday after 2 weeks of leave and participated in a meeting of local community members who have worked tirelessly in the last few days to establish the Bellingen Shire Neighbourhood Care Network as a framework to support the communities of the Bellingen Shire during the challenging times we face in the progress of the COVID 19 virus. The development of this network is support by Bellingen Shire Council and my role is to try to get this information out to as many people in the Bellingen Shire as possible. This neighbours helping neighbours support framework which will endeavour to match community members (participants) who may be in need of additional support during these times, with people who are able, and available, to offer support. This support may include both practical and wellbeing support such as:- Picking up shopping or medical supplies Making a friendly phone call Dog walking Gardening A more detailed information sheet for your information is available. We want to try and get as many people to register to be part of this support network as possible, so that should people in our neighbourhoods need support we are in the best place to coordinate it with key people taking on the role of street or cluster coordination. I have registered to take on this role for my street and it may be that some of you The project is evolving fast, but if you can read the information, consider registering and then PASS THIS ON to as many of your contacts, friends, workmates and neighbours as possible, that would be GREAT! 21.01.2022 It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and committee member Blair Gilmore. Blair passed away on the 6th October with his family by his side. Blair was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather and citizen. At 88 years young he was still actively volunteering and could always be depended upon to lend a hand and offer guidance and support whenever needed. Our thoughts go out to Marion and his family at this sad time. Blair's wish was to ...have a private cremation followed by a celebration of his life in his beloved Raleigh Hall. Blair's family would like to warmly invite all who may have been touched by Blair to a celebration of his existence at the hall at 12 noon on Saturday 19th October. Please indicate numbers for catering purposes by calling 66554999. Vale Blair, you will be truly missed. The Raleigh Hall Management Committee.

14.01.2022 Join us for a spectacular night of entertainment with Grace and Hugh. Grace + Hugh is a musical collaboration between songwriter/performers Grace Hickey and Hugh Scott Murray. Their professional linkages range from INXS and Keith Urban through to soul legend Lou Rawls - and on Saturday December 7, Grace + Hugh will set up at Raleigh Hall for one very special performance. Grace and Hugh met on the road. Hugh was returning from playing a thousand shows across Australia and the ...United States; Grace was on the run from art school with a sketchpad full of songs. Their chance meeting prompted a musical detour, pushing an upright piano down back roads and back alleys, and writing contemporary songs influenced by country, blues and soul music. They recently recorded their first album together with a stellar band between Sydney and Nashville, featuring co-writes with Don Walker (Cold Chisel) and Bones Hillman (Midnight Oil). Grace's powerful voice and striking stage presence are the perfect foil for Hugh's soulful piano playing and warm baritone ... and their vocal chemistry has been starting fires on stages across the country. Tickets for this event are strictly limited. Bookings must be made and paid for before the night, by calling Linda on 0411162744, or emailing [email protected]. Doors open at 6:30 for a 7pm start; BYO food and drinks. You can listen to them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALfd448p2JM Somethin' About a Man - Grace and Hugh - Live With a stellar band Grace and Hugh recorded live one of the first tracks they wrote together at Housefox studios in Sydney.
