24.01.2022 BEER RELEASE: FRIDAY 27/11 This week we have two absolute juice bombs to release. A collab with our pals from SA @shapeshifterbrewingco and a new DIPA with precisely ALL of the hops. We’re seriously digging these two! 1 Plus One is a collaboration beer that we brewed with Shapeshifter Brewing Co from Adelaide. The beer was brewed to be dropped in Adelaide for the Beer & BBQ summer edition festival next weekend. Alas, 2020 happened and the festival has been postponed a...gain. The good news is that this beer is here and it absolutely SLAPS. For the first time we've given the DDH treatment to an Oat Cream IPA and the result is one of the smoothest and juiciest IPAs in our repertoire. We went hard on the hops with Citra Incognito and Galaxy in the whirlpool and a hefty dry-hop of Citra, Citra LUPOMAX and Mosaic Cryo. Bursting with fresh passionfruit, lychee and overripe mango. The mouthfeel is every bit smooth and creamy as you'd expect, with a finishing sweet juiciness. Don't sleep. 2 Space Boogie is a new Double IPA. Loaded up to the max with Centennial, Cashmere Cryo and Citra LUPOMAX. Built on a simple malt bill of Extra Pale, oats and wheat, we get that light orange and super hazy colour that we're after. But this beer is all about hops. Big hits of candied orange, citrus, soft tropical fruits and a hint of melon. Not a hint of booze and only the softest of bitterness. We're hesitant to ever call an 8.3% beer crushable but...pretty crushable DIPA. Proceed with caution! 24.01.2022 TAPROOM UPDATE A little update on our taproom capacity given recent easing of restrictions in QLD. We wanted to let you know that the recent changes mean we can fit more of you into our space! It's exciting news and we're stoked to keep building the vibe as summer flows on. It will help a lot during our busier periods like Fridays and Saturdays, and we should have much less waiting time, if any. We'd also like to take this opportunity to give a little reminder that we ...are still required to follow some pretty strict rules around physical distancing, sanitisation and record keeping. We need your help to make it all keep running smoothly so please listen to our team if asked to sit in a certain seat, sanitise your hands or fill in track and trace information. We can't wait to be able to pack this joint to the rafters again and we're almost there. We're looking forward to hosting some car park parties over summer, starting with this Saturday! We'll have plenty of tables outside in the sun from 12pm, with a food truck arriving from 1pm. We're even allowed to have a little boogie outside . Roll on summer! See more

23.01.2022 AUS TAP TAKOVERS! We’re pouring in some awesome venues all across the country in the next couple of weeks! @beskbar have a stellar lineup of kegs and cans and will be pouring from the 13/11. Our first time in WA!... @unionhotelnewtown will be pouring an identical lineup to Besk with a STACK of cans on the go. Pouring from today 12/11. @hopshopfrankston are hosting their first TTO ever and we’re stoked to be on the lineup. Pouring some super freshies from 19/11. If you’re in VIC, NSW or WA be sure to get in to these venues for some fresh joose.

21.01.2022 Another lockdown in BNE but the train must roll on. A big week of brewing and packaging so we can get your daily dose of fresh, local and, importantly, independent beer fix. We’ll be open until 6pm tonight and tomorrow for takeaways and until 7pm on Thursday. We’ll update later in the week when we all know more about what the weekend holds. Stay tuned tomorrow for a super fun beer release which we may or may not drop at both venues a day early this week... Wear a mask, stay home, get vaccinated and drink Range.



21.01.2022 Wow! What a night. We’re still absolutely beaming about what happened at the @indiebrewers awards last night. 3 x medals Champion IPA Champion QLD Brewery Champion Small/Medium Brewery ... Champion Independent Beer We are completely humbled by this recognition. We want to say a huge thank you to our beer community who have supported us from day one. And a massive thank you to the IBA and all of the sponsors for making these awards happen in what has been a tough year for everyone. There may be a hangover or two around the brewery today, so be gentle on us!

19.01.2022 BEER RELEASE: FRIDAY 29/01 We all know the secret to life is balance. So this week we’re taking a short break from the hopped out life to bring you something crispy, something fruity and something classic! Don’t worry though, we’ve still got plenty of hoppy beer. Read on for all the saucy details... 1 Mango Sour! The debut of our new Mango Sour label Conditioned on a healthy dose of mango, we get a bright orange colour, smooth mango sweetness, with a light sourness at ...the back end. Acidic undertones make way for a refreshing, easy finish. Everyone’s favourite summer sour. 2 Mustard is based on a traditional Munich style Helles Lager. The beer is a light golden straw in colour, with a high level of clarity. It has a medium body, with a smooth malt driven flavour profile with just a hint of malt sweetness. There is an underlying light bitterness but the beer finishes smooth and dry. Gimme some Mustard. 3 Little One is a light Belgian Blonde style ale. Originally created to be barrel aged, we have also kegged off a small amount of this beer. It is a very light yellow colour, with a high level of clarity. At 3% this clean European ale is extremely drinkable. The malt body is light and consists primarily of Pilsner malt. A traditional Belgian yeast strain provides light fruity notes of lemon and pear, with a hint of light phenols of clove and spice. The finish is dry, balanced and very moreish! This will be a keg only release! 19.01.2022 CHRISTMAS DROP OK so 2020 is coming to an end and be damned if we weren’t going out with a bang. This WEDNESDAY the 23rd of December, at our Newstead location, we will be dropping 8 fresh cans for the holiday period. Some old favourites, some new comers and some seriously spicy bois. There will be NO LIMIT on any lines, so get it early if you don’t want to miss out! 1 TINY TAMBOURINE Mid strength Pale Ale with Motueka and Wakatu. Soft Kiwi crusher.... 2 GUAVA SOUR Fruited sour ale, with loads of Guava. Light, refreshing and tangy. 3 JAM: BLUEBERRY + BLACKCURRANT The OG of our double fruited JAM series. A deep, thick shade of purple in the glass, with a strong level of tartness and intensity. You love, we love it, come get it. 4 LITTLE BY LITTLE Not actually little at all, actually a 10.3% Imperial Sour. Raspberry and Guava bring a blended mix of tartness, zing and sweetness which is complimented by the addition of lactose for an extra smooth body. Ridiculously silky and dangerously drinkable. Enjoy responsibly. 5 MOMENTS TO GO A West Coast style IPA. Brewed with locally sourced Vic Secret flowers in the whirlpool courtesy of @hilltophopsfarm. Centennial, Chinook and Simcoe in the dry hop for the classic resin and pine on the palate. Clean, lean and crispy. 6 Last Call A lusciously soft and hoppy IPA. A light golden colour but with a strong haze. Dry-hopped with Amarillo, Citra LUPOMAX and cashmere. Mango, pineapple and lychee. Super refreshing and crushable. 7 F.K.A A big, hoppy and dry DIPA. Fermented with our pals @verdantbrew IPA yeast, it’s juicy, but has a bitterness to balance. Cashmere Cryo, Mosaic, Citra LUPOMAX bringing the tropical juice. Big ooft. 8 DON’T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU Goodbye 2020, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Rounding out this ROLLERCOASTER of a year with a style that has been huge for us in 2020 - the Oat Cream IPA. Citra Cryo, Galaxy, Centennial. All juice everything x 2. Ts and Cs: Open Wednesday 4pm-8pm and Thursday 12pm-8pm. All online orders will ship Jan 4th. 18.01.2022 Yesterday’s can release was wild! Thanks so so much to everyone that came by to grab cans for the holidays. It was absolute scenes, with an almost 2nd Bday line around the block. We are so thankful for the support. But, we aren’t done. In a final 2020 curveball we’ve just had a last minute glassware delivery. We’ve got Flipside Teku’s and Willi B’s available from Newstead and online today from 12pm. We have plenty of can stock left at all locations, so if you didn’t make it ...in yesterday, definitely swing past today!

18.01.2022 C R I S P. A lager which we have been brewing and tweaking for a couple of years. We’ve been in the pursuit of the perfect clean, crisp and traditional lager to be enjoyed during the endless summer days. And we’re getting very close. We are over the moon with this batch and what we’ve been able to achieve with it. Brewed with German malts and hops and fermented with a German strain from local Australian yeast supplier @bluestoneyeast. We have ourselves a remarkably clean, cle...ar, crisp and refreshing lager. Displaying hints of the noble hops through a mild bitterness, and a light be noticeable yeast profile. This is one sexy lager. You can try this batch out for yourself by dropping into either of our Abbotsford or Newstead taprooms. Or, jump online for shipping, pickup or SAME DAY DELIVERY options.

15.01.2022 What a ride this year has been! Some ups and downs, brews with new friends, brews with old friends and opened a brand new venue! Crazy to think we closed our taproom and flipped our business model over night and made it out the other side, thanks to your support! We are forever grateful to our beer community both near and far. It was a huge year for brewing, with something for everyone! Have a look through our brews of 2020 and let us know your favourite. ... 14.01.2022 Hot summer days are upon us and we couldn’t think of a better beverage to cool off with than this. Our watermelon sour is a low ABV alternative to the big hoppy beasts. Lightly tart, with a sweet watermelon finish. So crushable! It’s going to be a hot one this weekend so drop by to grab some cans or sit in and enjoy in the taproom!

Masks are no longer required inside and vertical beers are back on! That’s cause for celebration! Come by for some pizza, cans and a crispy crispy lager!

From this Sunday we’ll be: Spinning vinyls from 2-6 Pouring particularly well priced pale ales... Slinging zesty spritzes And serving $15 Margs all day. What a time to be alive.

05.01.2022 BEER RELEASE: FRIDAY 13/11 Friday the 13th we’ve got a trio of absolute beauties. East Coast DIPA, West Coast IPA and summer sour. 1 Big Demeanour - DIPA. It's been a minute but we thought y'all might enjoy a DIPA?! Big Demeanour by name and also by flavour. This baby is packing. Packing hops, mouthfeel and juicy, juicy, juiciness. Silky velvet on the palate, delivering lasting fresh hop flavours. With an all-American combo of Simcoe, Cashmere, Mosaic and Amarillo there... is an abundance of tropical and stone fruit flavours. Apricot, mango, light berry and bubblegum. Damn. The body is full and the finish is nothing but juice. 2 Soundcheck - West Coast IPA. Hopped with an old-school vs new-school combination of Mosaic, Simcoe and Talus. We've been working hard to nail down on the balance between drinkability and bitterness in our West Coast IPA's and we think this beer is pretty close to bang on. A lean and clean malt bill allows the resinous hop oils to shine. Slight pine, an undertone of resin and a distinctively grapefruit finish that leaves a pleasant and mouth coating bitterness that you can savour long after each sip. 7.2% is nowhere to be seen, just zesty West Coast goodness. 3 Watermelon Sour Ale. It’s back, just in time for some warm summer weather. We start with a simple sour base recipe which gives us a light tartness upfront. We then add a generous helping of watermelon during fermentation giving us sweet watermelon notes to finish out this beer. It reminds us of a watermelon chupa chup. The watermelon isn't overpowering - it's balanced and extremely refreshing. 03.01.2022 Big time joose right here folks. Big Demeanour is a fresh DIPA hitting our online store and taproom today at midday. Apricot, mango, berry and bubblegum all hitting the palate hard in waves. Mouth coating juiciness that lingers long after each sip. A soft but full mouthfeel lets you know you’re drinking a big beer. Be sure to jump on this one!

02.01.2022 Last week we had the absolute pleasure of brewing a long distance collaboration with the ever cool @moderntimesbeer. The beer is as you might imagine, big and hoppy. We’ve got a huge dry hop in there of some of the first hops we received from the 2020 @yakimachief harvest. We’re stoked for y’all to try it. Keep your eyes peeled in a few weeks time! It’s a damn shame they couldn’t be with us, but we made sure there was a little Modern Times swag in the house for the brew day and dry hop .
