22.01.2022 Rotary has set up a fund to assist people in recovery from unprecedented flooding across Queensland. Not only are donations being sought, but Project Manager Robert Tardiani is seeking assistance from clubs to identify people in need in their areas who would benefit from assistance from these funds. 16.01.2022 Passionate Rotarians in Australia have helped raised $500,000 to have a malaria vaccine trialled on humans, with the federal government matching their effort.

11.01.2022 We all know that our Ploughmans & Pav event held in October, was a massive hit! But what you may or may not have known... there was over 200 people in atten...dance! Wow! This allowed us to raise a massive $10,558! With contributions being made to the Barrumbuttock Hay Runners and to RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Service program! Pictured on the left is Troy Hendy, who represented the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners with his experiences when delivering to the drought affected areas and also the toll the dry has had on the rural communities! 10.01.2022 The Federal Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities Drought Community Support Initiative (DCSI) On 26 October 2018, the Australian Government announced it would provide $30 million in much-needed support to drought-affected families through the Drought Community Support Initiative. This will provide up to $3,000 in assistance to at least 10,000 households in 81 Local Government Areas eligible under the Drought Communities Programme Extension. The funding... is now available for farmers, farm workers and farm suppliers/contractors facing hardship due to drought. It can be used to spend in local communities or to cover urgent bills such as food, petrol and utilities. The $3,000 per household can consist of up to $2,000 in cash and $1,000 in vouchers. Federal Regional Services Minister, Victorian Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie said a key element of the support was the provision of vouchers to be redeemed at local businesses. Senator McKenzie said the three charities were chosen because they were already on the ground in drought regions and were best suited to deliver immediate relief, across all eligible Local Government Areas. The Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul Society and Rotary Australia World Community Service have been engaged to deliver the assistance. Eligible households should reach out to these organisations directly to seek financial support (details below). 04.01.2022 A Rotarian team from D9465 has been helping to provide clean, running water for villages in East Timor since 2010. The group returned from their last trip in October and you can see from the attached article the difference the project was making. Many villages are isolated and face significant issues such as poor sanitation because of a lack of running water.
