24.01.2022 Flushable Wipes - Are they really?? Flushable wipes or wet wipes have been around for sometime on the market and are an alternative to standard toilet paper. Ho...wever something that may seem a nicer choice at the time can lead to costly blockages in your own sewer system and of course the mains network. The word flushable wipes can somewhat confuse people as the main challenge with them is they dont disintegrate quick enough like toilet paper. This can be even more relevant if you have an issue with your own drain including a break, tree roots or pipework holding water. They are even harder to flush away. We highly recommend the use of standard toilet paper and if you have any additional questions Urban Utilities and Unity Water both have some good articles on what to look out for.
