24.01.2022 "The Red Sands" official photograph. I've branded my style "Impressionist Painting in Sculptured Paper". I do not concern myself with technical, nor accurate representation of subject. I use a knife only minimally. Most pieces are torn to allow the paperness to be revealed, and be organic in its outcome. There is a single colour ink wash on the background and on areas of highlight, the rest are the native colours and textures of the papers. Goodwill Wine s...upports all kinds of NFP organisations this way. I purchased a dozen 2013 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon for the society I support and just donated $24, while I enjoy the wine. A win win wine! Actually, I'm a passionate member, in fact, council member of this very old society, having been keenly interested in entomology since I was a kid. While now as a professional fine artist, I started out 40 years ago in graphic design and illustration and I put my old skills toward contributing the label design too. The featured insect is quite special to the Victorian high country, earning its place as the ESV's mascot species. It's the Mountain Grasshopper, or (Acripeza reticulata). As for the wine, it's truly a good drop and you'd be hard pushed to get an equivalent of 2013 vintage from Coonawarra district at under $16 a bottle, delivered!
