25.01.2022 Do you love planks? Or do you hate them? I personally love planks! I love the challenge it can give the whole body and there's so much you can do with them. Whether it's on the mat or on the reformer, planks will never be boring at pilates In this post, we are going to have a look at some common mistakes people make while planking and how to fix these mistakes so you can make your planks more effective and get better results!... A common mistake some make with planks is sinking down between your shoulders. To help with this, I like to imagine my hands are pushing the ground away from me. This can help fill the space between the shoulder blades and make your planks more effective. Another mistake that is commonly made with planks is rounding forward too far through the shoulders. One of the ways to adjust this is to bring your chest forward slightly and feel the length all through your upper spine. I hope these help! If you are still having trouble, we can always work on them in class. I mean, you know how much I love planks I'm always happy to add in as many planks to our classes as you like Can't wait to see you in the Studio!

14.01.2022 S U N D A Y C L A S S E S You asked, we delivered! As of this coming weekend, we have added an 8am and 9am onto our Sunday schedule! ... Get your Sunday Sharon fix and start your day with your best foot forward Members, our system regards Sunday as the first day of the week so make sure to adjust your weekly classes accordingly to account for this. Other classes that have been added to the schedule are: Monday 10.30am Tuesday 6.30pm Wednesday 6am & 8am Thursday 7am Sunday 8am & 9am See you in the Studio

13.01.2022 How many times a week should I come to Pilates? This is a question we get so often! If it was up to me and this was an ideal world, I would say everyday! However, it’s not an ideal world and many people can’t fit that into their daily life along with work, family, friends and everything else life likes to throw at us. ... So I’m going to answer your question with another question: What do you think you can you commit to? You might be highly active and only need 1 class a week and this is totally okay! Or you might not be very active at all and to really start seeing results, at least 2 a week would be much more beneficial. Our recommendation is to find what you can fit into your week and then work around that. Find that class you can come to each week and stick to it. Make that appointment for yourself and come as many times as works for you. Don’t try work around someone else’s schedule, work around your own. At Reach Pilates we can tailor memberships to work around what you can commit to. Whether you can commit to a year or only 2 months, 3 classes a week or only 1. We have done our best to work around you. Come and see us and we and figure out what works best for you

11.01.2022 It's easy to be tempted to skip the warm-up and to save a few minutes during a workout. But warm-ups are really important and here's why you should NEVER skip them. 1) It loosens the joints 2) It maximises strength 3) It provides for better blood circulation and prepares the body and mind for exercise. At the start of every class at Reach Pilates, we always take a few minutes to warm up and prepare you for the rest of the class. Can't wait to see you in the studio!

We have found that grip socks are ideal when doing classes as they help you feel more stabilised and comfortable moving on the reformers. They also keep our equipment clean and tidy and due to COVID-19, we have made grip socks a requirement, keeping the studio safe for everybody! 03.01.2022 Kindness is something that is much more difficult and takes a lot more courage than hate. When we focus on kindness and we focus on making a positive impact in the lives of people around us, you can find that kindness is contagious! It also reduces the stress of our own lives and those around us as well. It takes strength to respond with kindness when someone is responding negatively, but always remember that those who you may believe don't deserve your kindness, probably need it most!

03.01.2022 2 Y E A R S It still blows my mind that is been 2 years since we had our grand opening! I feel like it was only a couple months ago that we even had our first birthday And boy what a couple of years it has been. Our family has grown from just Sharon and Hannah from little old New Zealand to nearly full classes up to 7 times a day and 2 week waitlists for private sessions! No only that, we have added Kristina to our team plus some sneaky new instructors training next ye...ar We are so thankful for all your love and support and we are so sad that the events this year meant we couldn’t have a birthday party and celebrate with you But birthday party or not, we made it this far and we aren’t going anywhere! We are so glad we can call you our family - bring on year no.3!!
