23.01.2022 Please join me at my free workshop!

23.01.2022 Since the beginning of Covid19, my choir has been meeting online. We meet via Zoom, learn out parts separately, and sing to recorded accompaniment, whilst unable to hear each other sing. Zoom can't cope with multiples voices at once. Not ideal, but we all love coming to choir, to be able to sing to lift our spirits, and be able to have a chat with each other. Last night we learnt (Or remembered for the older ones among us) the Carol King song, made even more famous by James... Taylor, "You've Got a Friend". I realised that this should be the theme song for this pandemic. After all, friendship and the love of family is what it is all about. Listen to the lyrics and please, remember to be a good friend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEkIou3WFnM

21.01.2022 I have listened to heavy rain on the roof for most of the last 24 hours. I think my self care will be inside today. What about you?

19.01.2022 My grandmother once gave me a tip: In difficult times, you move forward in small steps. Do what you have to do, but little by little. Don't think about the futu...re, or what may happen tomorrow. Wash the dishes. Remove the dust. Write a letter. Make a soup. You see? You are advancing step by step. Take a step and stop. Rest a little. Praise yourself. Take another step. Then another. You won't notice, but your steps will grow more and more. And the time will come when you can think about the future without crying. - Elena Mikhalkova (Image of Tasha Tudor, American Illustrator 1915-2008)

16.01.2022 Changing small habits can make a big difference. I've decided that I'll get out of bed in the morning and go for a walk straight away, before I have time to find an excuse not to go. That will increase the number of times each week that I walk. What small habit can you change, that will make a difference? Here are some suggestions: drink more water each day, make a point of contact a different family member or friend each day, take 10 minutes in the morning or evening to write in your journal, write down 10 things that you are thankful for each day. Give us some other suggestions in the comments below and commit to the small change you can make each day.

08.01.2022 Are you looking for more in life, especially after a separation or divorce? Ready to live life in colour, not just black, white and grey?

07.01.2022 Okay, lots of us know the benefits that our pets can bring, especially if we find we are doing it tough. Here's your chance to share your joy! Share a photo of your beloved dog below. I'll start with a photo of Rhubarb, my daughter's dog, in the comments below. I'd love to see a photo of your dog (or even your cat)

05.01.2022 If you knew how many uncertain days you survived, how many times you had no idea what to do but just tried and learned and got better, how uncertainty is always... present but never in control, oh, my friend, how bold you might become. A lot of people are holding back right now. They’re waiting to see how things turn out. They’re waiting for some normal to return and give them opportunity. But the opportunity is never some distant future. It’s in how you show up and work and go for it now, in the very moments of uncertainty. Take a step today that moves you forward. Quit something or start start or just WORK something with real effort without fear or concern about how things turn out. It’s not about how things turn out; it’s about how YOU show up. Cheering you on. Your coach, Brendon. #motivationalquotes #lifecoaching

05.01.2022 A smile can light up someone else's life. Why not share yours today?

03.01.2022 Every day when I journal, I finish with a list of things I am grateful for. More than ever, this year, I have been thankful for the small things - my hot coffee that smells so good in the morning, the hot shower that comes on magically each day, the sun shining on the water etc. Take some time to appreciate the small things. You will find it lifts your mood and is a protective mental health factor.

03.01.2022 R U OK? Today is R U OK Day. It's okay not to be Okay. Things can be a bit challenging right now. If you're not okay and you'd like to reach out, either comment below or private message me, and I'll be in touch. ... It's okay to reach out for help, and it's extra good to listen to someone else who may need your care right now. Reach out and ask R U OK? More importantly, be prepared to listen.

02.01.2022 Are you showing up to the best of your ability? Or are you playing it safe, and small? Where do you want to be by the end of the year? Don't pull the excuse of Covid 19 - the world doesn't stop just because our lifestyles have been changed! Lots of people need your wisdom, help, humour or kindness. Plenty of things are carrying on as normal, and really, just how long do you want to be living half a life? Pick and area of your life - any one, and dream big! Grab a pen and brainstorm all the things you'd like to see in that part of your life. Then pick one of those things that you can do NOW and make a start.
