22.01.2022 Our usual gardener wasn’t available to help us out today, so Craig and I decided to pull our sleeves up and do it ourselves. All we needed to do was find a big heavy rock to use as a step, carry it to the right spot, clear the courtyard of weeds, spread 20 bags of stones, dig a few holes, plant some plants, pop some mulch on the gardens and clean the outdoor pavers with a good cleaning solution and tough brush. All done within a few hours.

12.01.2022 We received a text message from a much loved client and friend this week. She has a four year old boy named Val who is absolutely adorable. Val must have been listening to his mum when she spoke with us on the phone. The text message said...... Val: "Mum, why are there angels coming to help us sell our house?" Me: "Angels?" Val: "Yes angels, real estate angels" We all think he meant agents, but we are happy to go with Angels. Thanks Val.

12.01.2022 One project, currently on the go, is this new wall and sliding door that’s being installed between a bedroom and living room. Sigh - won’t that be nice. When we start a project like this, we can never be 100% sure of the result. We draw upon our past experience and buyer feedback to guide our decisions when preparing property for sale. One of our jobs this week was to clean this apartment kitchen, ready for the carpenter to re grout the tiles and replace some rotten skirtings. If you want a job done well...... Thanks to our beautiful neighbour Kasia Kot who lent a hand to scrub this place from top to bottom, all the way into the late hours of the night.

I’m sure Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae who inspired the poppy as the symbol of remembrance knew this more than most. ‘The day before he wrote his famous poem, one of McCrae's closest friends was killed in the fighting and buried in a makeshift grave with a simple wooden cross.
