We’ve got 80,000 little worm workers processing offcuts and other non-edible wastage, reducing our waste sent to landfill significantly. 01.01.2022 At Real Food Grocer, we are as thorough as possible when it comes to investigating products and suppliers in our efforts to be a palm oil free store. There are hundreds of different names for palm oil derived ingredients used in food, cleaning and bathroom products, and it is quite often hidden. Yesterday we were saddened to discover that our beloved products from Shampoo With A Purpose in fact contain a derivative of palm oil, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA). We are sharin...g this to be as transparent as possible with you, our epic community, as we want to keep the conversation open. Mistakes can happen, despite the best of efforts and intentions, but we admire Shampoo with a Purpose’s efforts to rectify this situation, and do better. Production of bars containing palm oil-derived SLSA has immediately ceased, and Shampoo with a Purpose offering refunds to any customers wishing to return their product. Moving forward, the SLSA will be replaced with a verified palm oil-free substitute, and we look forward to having Shampoo with a Purpose back in stock in the coming weeks. In the mean-time, we do have a great range of Ethique products, including their shampoo bars, which are all 100% certified palm oil free.
