19.01.2022 Australia v. Canada in the war over wine. Australia’s own system is designed to protect its industry. Is this just a big whinge about the same protections from the other side of the taxation fence? Australia has called the World Trade Organisation to mediate a brewing trade war with Canada over wine. Australian winemakers say Canadian import taxes (paywall) and surcharges introduced this year are decimating exports. Canada is Australia’s fourth-largest wine export market, valued at $187m, behind China, the U.S. and the U.K. Trade Minister Steven Ciobo said Canada's new import system was discriminating against Australian wine imports. It’s the first time Australia has asked for the World Trade Organisation’s help since 2003.

16.01.2022 Cannonball... we watched these movies for the awesome cars, we understood a few of the jokes, the dirty one-liners that made us adolescent boys giggle, and had our first movie crushes, such fond memories of staying up late with my brother after our mum fell asleep to watch Cannonball Run! Their product development and brand development methods unconventional and fraught with danger. They are said to be Japanese most failed company - more products than any other failing in the market. For a country that includes Sony, that is quite a feat. However, they were always there, usually first in category, attainable for t...he masses and plentiful. The brothers were said to relax in their early success and instead of evolving and developing their products, hit the links and play golf together. I guess of all their failure, they still managed to win. Where many brands disappear, Casio is still around, still make great products and probably always will.
