21.01.2022 One of the exciting things happening in our week is that we are running English tutoring classes! 16.01.2022 Some of the most influential people in my life live interstate and abroad. I’ve crossed paths with them at some point in my life and I really do miss them. Having said that, we have technology now where we can chat and catch up on video calls. I recently spoke to a friend I hadn’t spoken to in years who lives in Canada and she really inspired me and reminded me of what I’m capable of. It was so uplifting. Sometimes the 25km radius of those around us may not always have ever...y single influencer or role model you need in your walk and that’s okay. I’ve learn’t over the years that if you can’t find that person in your area or close by, don’t look for just anyone anyway. Always protect your mindset, protect your thoughts and with your heart, trust that whoever you open up to, is understanding and actually knows what you want and can help you. That help might just be someone who can listen to you, who can share experiences or just be there to uplift and encourage you! 15.01.2022 Education is really important to my family! Being a first time mum, I knew I wanted my son to start his Early Learning journey after he turned One. This is not to say that this path is for everyone but I really do love what early learning does and how it helps with integration into the Australian curriculum! Early learning isn’t just daycare, it’s something that allows children to learn, be creative and explore whilst learning to be independent! ... Some of the benefits I’ve appreciated from this approach is more productive time when Jordan is home, time to get work done during standard corporate working hours! I’ve seen my working week schedule boost in productivity which has been great! The Educators here are seriously fantastic and give me updates on how Mr J is progressing. They are really observant and informative. I love that I am able to get daily report updates and photos of him which brings peace of mind to know that Mr J is in safe hands whilst documenting his progress. I’m not going to lie, it’s quite hard at the start because Mr J and I have been enjoying our time together at home and have been inseparable except when he stays with Grandma. But the reality is, working full time, working on yourself and building a business whilst running a home, I saw that things were starting to get compromised and I was getting burnt out. Mr J only attends a few days a week which breaks up the week nicely where he can still have full days with dad when he has it off and Grandma on every other day. Weekends and after work hours are with me and it’s really made life so much more enjoyable! Learning doesn’t have to look like this. I really do believe parents are always going to be the primary teachers for their children and I also know how powerful homeschooling can be and the benefits there also. I do homeschooling every other day Mr J isn’t here. As long as they are learning and we are actively trying to promote learning with our children, we are all on the right path regardless of what that may look like to you and your family! @real_stuff_matters

10.01.2022 7 weeks ago I launched virtual English Tutoring and mentoring classes due to the lockdown here in Melbourne. This has all been a such a beautiful teaching experience for me personally. The students are so eager to learn and I love watching them develop in their writing and learning aptitude each week. ... Some students 7-9 years old are writing 3 pages in less than an hour! An achievement in itself because when they started 7 weeks ago, they could only write half a page or less with me. As time goes, they are literally doing the impossible. These young minds are writing so well, they definitely deserve an applause; confidence has been instilled, empowerment has been woven into their hearts and I can only see their learning journey flourishing from here. So proud of all of them and I’m even more proud of the community we are creating and growing in learning the space. 08.01.2022 Thinking about doing a course or certificate to help your learning? With the amount of qualifications and courses you can undertake these days, it’s so easy to get lost between a course that is just a course or completing something that is going to help you professionally. If you are thinking about doing a course one thing I would recommend is to ensure that the certificate is nationally accredited and is part of a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This will require y...ou to do some background research before you commit to paying thousands of dollars just because the course title sounds good and promising. Yes you might be more knowledgeable after you completed the short course but what will help you is to ensure that it will allow you to be professionally accredited/qualified in the nationally accredited space. An important point also is that some internationally recognised courses may sound global and international however they may not necessarily meet the national standard here in Australia which is rather competitive to achieve. In saying that, there is something called the ASQA which is the Australian Skills Quality Authority which is governed by the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator. This legislation provides a framework to ensure that all RTOs are offering nationally recognised training that is consistent across all States and Territories and across all industries here in Australia. It is heavily regulated and audited to ensure that training institutions are providing value for money courses to their students. I recently enrolled in a course that is nationally accredited and will qualify me in my professional line of work hence why I wanted to share my learnings and what I went through to make this decision as there is always money sacrifices involved when you sign up for study! It’s important to ensure you know what you want and what you hope to achieve out of it. Always ensure you do your research and always get help and guidance from people you can ask and don’t be afraid to ask these questions to the organisation that is offering the course. 02.01.2022 I’ve mentioned to students that there is actual study music to listen to whilst doing focused work and exam prep. The genre is called Lo-fi study music. Just type Lo-Fi study music into YouTube and heaps of tracks come up. They don’t have lyrics or words just music. Even though I’m not studying for exams or doing any courses at the moment, I do still listen to focused study music whilst I’m working, planning, strategising and writing. I find this genre of music to be really... motivational and inspiring when I’m in study mode.
