16.01.2022 What a heartbreaking start to the new decade for so many in our community . On the flip side, it’s been truly heartening to see so many people spring into action and help in any way they can. From the countless volunteers on the ground, to people offering emergency accomodation, businesses donating goods and money, people worldwide sewing and knitting wraps and pouches for injured wildlife... the list goes on. It gives me some hope for the future when we can all rally like... this in times of adversity . As a small contribution, I’m donating $100 from every Newborn or Family session booked in February to Wildlife Victoria, who are doing such important work to help the countless creatures affected by these devastating fires. . Meanwhile, like many in Melbourne, I’m watching the air quality index and hoping to finally get outdoors with the kids later today, as we are all climbing the walls Hope everyone else is coping as best they can . 08.01.2022 A big day for little humans and their parents here in Victoria today! It can be a day of SUCH mixed emotions Joy, love, sadness, immeasurable pride, anxiety, and yes, sometimes sheer relief! . My kids were more than ready to head back to school, with the eldest dressed and ready to go by 7.30am!! The 7yo took a little longer, but said he was having trouble focusing on getting ready because he was ‘too excited’ Truth be told, as a mum who works from home, I was pretty excit...ed for them to go back to school too!! 05.01.2022 It’s hard to imagine that these carefree images of this gorgeous family were taken just a few short weeks ago. . I’ve delayed writing this post, as it’s taken me a while to try to get my head around it all, and what it might mean for Little Moments Photography, as well as for our family. . I hope that everyone is coping as best they can, and slowly adjusting to what looks to be our new reality for the foreseeable future.... . I know many of you will be working from home for the first time, as well as juggling parenting and domestic duties. Others will have different, often more challenging circumstances. . Go easy on yourselves. My partner and kids and I have all been working/living from home for the past week, and let me assure you, there is zero homeschooling going on. Amongst other things, the kids and I have been doing puzzles, going for walks, making funny videos and having impromptu dance parties in the kitchen. The kids have also been fighting more than ever, there’s been too much screen time, and way too much sugar consumed, but you know what? I think they’ll be just fine. . Sadly, like so many in mine and countless other industries, all upcoming work has either been cancelled or postponed indefinitely. Please consider supporting local small businesses in any way you can over these coming months, whether it be by ordering takeaway, getting books delivered from local bookshops, or purchasing gift vouchers for birthdays and other occasions from local shops and businesses, many of which are moving online. . 04.01.2022 My partner and I were driving somewhere the other day and reminiscing about bringing our first born home from the hospital all those years ago. We were so nervous on that first car trip with our precious little bundle, as well as the subsequent few car trips. As an infant, he wasn’t a fan of the car, especially when we were forced to stop at a traffic light, at which point my partner and I would both break into a heartfelt (ok, sometimes slightly edgy ) rendition of ‘You Are my Sunshine’ in an effort to calm our little beast. . 03.01.2022 How’s everyone doing out there in iso land? What a strange and challenging few weeks it has been, for so many. I hope you’re all finding a bit of a rhythm to your ‘new normal’, whatever that may be. . In our household, we’ve had good days and not so good days. The kids miss their friends desperately, and this situation has confirmed my long held suspicion that I’m definitely not cut out for homeschooling! . The change of pace has also shifted my focus, and although I’m not c...urrently shooting, there is lots going on in the background, and I’m really excited to begin a new chapter of my photography adventure when we emerge out the other side of this.
