25.01.2022 Children don't belong in custody - we support raising the age of criminal responsibility to 16. https://lsj.com.au//how-old-is-old-enough-to-be-a-criminal/

24.01.2022 Our firm has a strong commitment to high quality legal services for clients in partnership with Victoria Legal Aid.

24.01.2022 Our Broken Hill based solicitor Sophie Angell is seeing new clients every Wednesday at the Centre for Community, 200 Beryl Street, Broken Hill. Sophie specialises in Family and Criminal law, and is on the NSW Legal Aid panels to assist legally aided clients in Broken Hill. She lives in Broken Hill, so can attend court at short notice, any day of the week. We think she's great, you will too. Call our office on 03 5021 3912 for an appointment.

22.01.2022 2020 has been an unusual (and tiring!) year. We are closed between 4pm Friday 18 December 2020 and 9am Monday 4 January 2021. We will be taking new clients again from 4 January, and have appointments available in the new year. Thank-you to all our clients and colleagues for your patronage and support this year.... From all the team here; Rebecca, Louie, Sophie, Renee, Linda & Hash-Lee; we hope you have a restful and uneventful time over the Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing you in 2021.

20.01.2022 We are going from strength to strength at the moment. Our Broken Hill Branch Office is now open, with Sophie Angell available to see clients in Broken Hill each Wednesday and doing regular appearances for our clients in Broken Hill Local Court and Broken Hill Federal Circuit Court. Sophie is a motivated and hardworking NSW solicitor, who has a great practical approach and experience in Family Law matters. We've just welcomed experienced paralegal Alana Pollard into our Mildura office team. Alexis Buckley is continuing to do great work for clients with AVO and IVO matters, and criminal law work at Mildura Magistrates Court and Wentworth Local Court. Please call us to book an appointment, we've got new client spots opening up in early July.

18.01.2022 We are having some really frustrating problems with our phone and fax lines at the Mildura Office. Our voicemail system is also malfunctioning. Please bear with us if you cannot get through on our office number for the time being. Our email is unaffected, so please consider contacting us on [email protected] for matters requiring immediate assistance.

16.01.2022 Most Victorian youngsters are doing fine, says Judge Amanda Chambers, but when they go wrong, they're going very wrong.

14.01.2022 We are trying to ensure that our office can remain open to assist you during the current COVID 19 pandemic, but we are making some changes to the way we deliver our services to try to avoid a shut-down for as long as possible. To help us with this we ask you not to come into the office at all if you have : - travelled overseas in the last 14 days; - are suffering from cold or flu symptoms;... - have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID 19 or coronavirus We can assist you with most of your enquiries by telephone and we ask that you ring us, rather than calling into the office if you have questions about your case, and email us documents instead of bringing them in if possible. Our lawyers are still attending court in person when required, but we are not making any further face to face appointments with our clients (new or existing). We will continue to speak to you and progress your matters by making telephone appointments to discuss your cases. If you have upcoming court dates and are unwell, please telephone the office so that we can make arrangements for adjournments or attendance by AVL or telephone where possible. We hope all of our clients are able to stay well and avoid illness.

12.01.2022 We have further adjusted our services today. We hope all of our clients are able to stay well and avoid illness. Office Closed to the Public We have closed our front door to clients and other stakeholders, but we are still working away. Some of our staff are now working from home, but there are staff in our Mildura office to respond to you immediately by telephone or email.... Court Our lawyers are now no longer attending court in person. We are making arrangements for telephone appearances, to brief counsel to appear and to get adjournments by consent or on the papers. Please do not go to court on your court dates unless you have spoken with our lawyers and they have confirmed that this is absolutely necessary. Appointments We are continuing to take on new clients, and to service our existing clients. All these appointments are now by telephone.

12.01.2022 Welcome back to all our clients! All our staff are refreshed and back on deck for 2020.

10.01.2022 What a great day! Beautiful flowers from some lovely clients, and today is the 5 year anniversay of the firm opening.

08.01.2022 This is us still at the moment but instead of the problem being 2020, our issue is a lack of a proper NBN connection! Are lawyers the last professionals still using faxes these days?

07.01.2022 This is a really instructive interview between Fran Kelly (ABC) and the Chief Justice of the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court about the approach that the Family Law Courts are taking to parenting issues in this COVID19 situation : https://www.abc.net.au//amid-covid-19-parents-mu/12124306

06.01.2022 Free workshop for parents who are trying to learn ways to manage their children's challenging behaviours.

05.01.2022 I was really excited to meet with Professor Marcia Langton AM today to participate in her research project about Family Violence pathways for Aboriginal victims/survivors and perpetrators. Services and a legal system that promotes and supports safety for women and change for men, and are culturally safe, are fundamentally neccessary. This research is really important work, and I'm looking forward to reading the end result.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to our staff member Hash-Lee Oakley, who completed his traineeship recently! He put in a lot of hard work, including managing to cope with all the changes to the way we are delivering services during COVID19, and has achieved this great milestone.

03.01.2022 So pleased to have Sophie Angell as part of my team recently - such a great Associate! Can't wait to welcome her back!

03.01.2022 Amazing dust storm yesterday. Photo by our Broken Hill solicitor Sophie Angell, who was visiting for the week.

01.01.2022 Our great team is getting bigger. When our Broken Hill branch office visits, who can resist a photo opportunity!
