13.05.2022 Today Gypsy headed off to her new home. The past few months working with her have been so much fun. She has so much ahead for her in her new home and I’m super excited to see what they get up to together!

02.05.2022 Gypsy has now found an amazing home Gypsy is a 15 year old riding pony x mare standing at approximately 13.2 hands (unmeasured). Not registered but sire is Fairlight Acres Kidman. In the past she has been ridden by a 9 year old girl who attended pony club with her until she outgrew Gypsy. She doesn’t need to be in constant work though is happy to be. Under saddle she has a soft mouth, moves nicely off of your leg, not easily spooked, happy to be worked by herself or with anot...her horse. She has in the past been to pony club and pony club competitions, has done beach and bush riding. I haven’t taken her out along the trail but from what I’ve seen she would be better going out with another horse if her rider isn’t confident (can get a bit unsure in unfamiliar areas if not given direction). Ride with contact or a loose rein. Naturally likes to plod though will pick up the pace when asked. The cons: She can at times be pushy on the ground if allowed to be. Whilst Gypsy doesn’t present separation anxiety when being ridden or taken away from other horses, she will pace all day if she is paddocked by herself. Whilst I have found her to be a lovely mare to work with and amazing to ride I believe she would be better suited to an older child/teen. She is a patient mare with no dirt in her and plenty to teach a rider wanting to get out and about. Located Echuca Victoria. $6000

13.04.2022 Gypsy has been super lately. When I first started working with her she was shut down and always wanted to be able to see her paddock buddy. She is now relaxed in being taken away from her paddock (and friend), happy to stand tied up, and isn’t fazed when she can’t see another horse. She is now so much more willing to learn and easier to teach now that she is 100% focused on what we are doing. She is still naturally on the lazier side and enjoys doing minimal amount of work but is soft in the mouth and moves off of your leg nicely. Gypsy will be looking for her new family in the coming weeks and I’m looking forward to seeing what is ahead for her.

31.03.2022 After almost 4 months, mum had her first ride back on her trusty steed Snickers. They were both happy to be back together again. Today they were working on developing a soft feel when picking up the reins, and steering by using body position. It was great to see mum back in the saddle!

22.03.2022 One of the things that I like about Lilly is how she retains information. Lilly is always soaking up information and improving every day. Whilst human brains have a left and right hemisphere, we use both halves of our brain at the same time. This is due to us having a developed corpus callosum which allows messages to travel freely between the two hemispheres. Horses have an underdeveloped corpus callosum which means there isn’t a lot of information that travels between the ...two hemispheres. You’ll often hear people say that horses have two brains. This is where the saying ‘what you teach to one side of the horse, you have to teach to the other’ comes in. Sometimes it’s like training two horses at the same time. And just like us, horses can be either left handed or right handed with one side naturally being stronger than the other (and sometimes easier to teach). There are horses who once teaching one side will also understand on the other side. Lilly is one of these horses who is very quick to pick up on things and appear ambidextrous. I love working with horses as they are all so unique and learn differently just like us! See more

15.03.2022 Gypsy and Lilly are both doing well. They have been spontaneously worked over the past couple of weeks due to my work schedule. Today with Gypsy I did a bit of liberty work. She had a bit of extra energy but did really well in staying tuned in with me. She loves having a job to do but is very quickly learning how to be patient in waiting for what is asked of her next. Lilly is such a sweet heart. She has her moments of confusion due to being green but tries her heart out in everything. We had a float loading session today as it’s an area where she’s not yet comfortable with. She had gained a lot of confidence by the end of the session which was lovely to see.

20.01.2022 Sampson (previously Magnus) is coming along very nicely. He is a very smart boy who loves learning and soaks every bit of information up like a sponge. He has a large personality and is still very in your face. He is going to be a big boy with beautiful colouring. Sammie is a very chilled out dude with not much that fazes him. I’m really enjoying working with him and watching him develop

18.01.2022 On Thursday, this lovely boy arrived. Magnus is a 20 month old quarter horse x paint colt (soon to be gelded). He arrived after a long 3 day trip from Queensland. He has a very in your face personality with a very willing attitude and eagerness to please everybody. He soaks information up like a sponge and is very soft to handle. He has got lots to learn. He has a very bright future ahead of him. Can’t wait to see what Magnus achieves!!!

13.01.2022 I have spent the past 5 days in Drysdale for a Sandi Simons clinic with like minded, beautiful women. It has been a week full of tears, lots of laughter, and excessive licking and chewing on both the horses part and ours. I have made life long friends and learnt skills that are invaluable. Flipper is learning how to relax and focus on his work rather than his fear for other horses and loud noises. Cruise is learning that it is okay to be by himself and that waves aren’t as scary as he thought they were. Overall, it was an amazing week. Can’t wait to continue to practice with my horses at home

12.01.2022 Looks like it’s going to be lovely weather this weekend so what better way to spend it then being down at the steam rally. Plenty to see and do for all ages including an animal nursery, pony rides, and a photo with a unicorn!!! Come down and see Cruise living up to his name on the pony rides. See you all there

11.01.2022 This week I am working with Jewel. She is a 4 year old welsh mare who unfortunately hasn’t had the best start to life. She has found herself an amazing home with a family who love her dearly and want the best for her. Jewel wants to be your best friend but doesn’t know how and is very cautious around people. She is learning how to relax and trust again. Due to her hesitation with being handled, her feet are in desperate need of a farrier visit. This week, my top priority is handling her legs and feet so that she can get them trimmed and continue to be comfortable in the future with her family.

08.01.2022 This week I’m working with Wilbur. He is a 15 year old standardbred who has lost trust and confidence in people. He arrived last night and after a long session and hard work on both our parts in the round yard today he discovered join up. He is naturally a very stubborn and lazy natured horse but he is eager to please and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. By the end of the week I hope that he will be a bit more willing, forward and eager to spend time with his owner

07.01.2022 This week I have had the pleasure of working with Joe. He is a 13 year old standardbred that raced as a pacer for 10 years. He’s not long since started under saddle and is such a beautiful boy. At the beginning of the week he was quiet pushy and impatient and had very little interest in being with people. Throughout the week he has learnt how to stand patiently at the mounting block, move nicely off of your leg, go forward the first time asked rather than the 5th time, and is now beginning to enjoy spending time with his owner. He loves learning and is like a sponge. Look forward to watching Joe open up more and learn that he is more than just a number

01.01.2022 Hello everybody. Welcome to my business page. I'll try and post regularly with what I'm doing with the horses that I am working with. Look forward to walking this journey with you :)
