23.01.2022 Yesterday was one of my brother's birthday's Happy birthday Jamie! My mum put up this photo of him (left) and while I always new my youngest (right) looked like my brother the comparison is completely uncanny! Who in your family do your kids look like? Is it yourself or your partner? ( my eldest looks so much like me) or someone else in the family? ... #family #familyresemblance #happybirthday #minime #kids #mykidlookslikemybrother #rebeccatompsettdoula

22.01.2022 Which breastfeeding mum are you?

21.01.2022 How you feel about your birth is important! It is ok to be happy baby is healthy and still hurt, disappointed or any other thoughts feelings and emotions around your birth. Baby's health is not the only indicator of a good birth. A healthy baby needs healthy parents both physically and mentally! If you are not ok please reach out, if you need someone to talk to please reach out x

18.01.2022 feed those babies mumma's!

17.01.2022 Here is a little bit about why I chose to become a doula. I grew up with horror stories about birth with hospitals, doctor's and procedures. But the central theme in all of this was fear. Despite all of this I have known my whole life I wanted to be a mother. So naturally when I feel pregnant for the first time this was what I was expecting. My story however ended up the polar opposite, with the right support around me I birthed without fear and without medical intervention!... I beautifully birthed in the water and I pulled my own baby straight to my chest. At 4.55am on 5/3/13 my daughter Addison was welcomed into the world and it was nothing short of amazing! My birth was empowering I was untouchable! Then came mother's group classes and I met an amazing group of ladies most of which are still my close friends now, but as we were talking about our births I was once again hearing those all to familiar stories full of fear and pain and I'm not talking the obvious physical pain I'm talking deep emotional pain! and my heart was breaking for these beautiful strong mumma's! The key thing for me was the lack of knowledgeable and one on one support. This is what brought me to Doula's, the idea of someone who is knowledgeable, takes the time to get to know you and what you want for your birth experience, someone who is constant and not judgmental. I believe that every birthing woman deserves this and so here I am learning how to best do this for the women I will work with. I hope that every woman I work with will leave their birth feeling empowered and strong knowing that every decision they made was informed and the best for her and her family. No matter where or how you birth you deserve this kind of support! See more

10.01.2022 We are our own biggest critics! Negative self talk is a massive issue for so many of us! and not something that is easy to stop, but please try to think 'would I say this to another human?' If the answer is no, then you don't deserve it either x You are amazing

04.01.2022 I've always said breast milk fixes everything

04.01.2022 You are enough exactly as you are

04.01.2022 In many cultures mother and baby are given time to bond without interruption and this helps us to build those skills for breastfeeding and learning our babies cues. As much as it can be devastating to not be able to share your precious newborn with family and friends, take comfort that you are able to spend that time loving your beautiful baby and the time will come for them to meet all the other important people in your life.

04.01.2022 What was your experience?

04.01.2022 Good news for the birthing community on the central coast

04.01.2022 It's not very common, most break close to birth but it absolutely can happen! I had one that broke close to birth and one that broke before any other signs of labour.

02.01.2022 Its not often I'm at Gosford for an actual appointment and have time to spare so I thought I would take advantage and get some yummy cup cakes from Cakes By Kyla to enjoy with a lucky mumma to be! #rebeccatompsettdoula #cakesbykyla #doula #doulasupport #pregnancy #pregnancytreat #cupcakes #centralcoastnsw
