21.01.2022 2 DAY SAFE EXERCISE WORKSHOP: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TOPICS COVERED eg. What does the future hold for the walking lunge? I have no doubt that sometime in the next 10-30 years there will be a mass shift away from this exercise, driven by a belated awareness of damage from incorrect technique that had been caused. What I teach you in the workshop about the walking lunge will be great for the individuals whose training live...s begin after this shift. But what about the ones who have been doing this movement incorrectly for years now, or will be doing this movement for the time between now and when the market perception shifts? They will pay the price if they dont correct their technique, if its not too late already So what will it take for you to benefit? However for you to benefit from this wisdom you will need to possess a human trait that perhaps only 5% or less of the population do you will need to be comfortable breaking the mould, going against the grain, declining these movements when others blindly follow. This will most likely determine whether you will benefit as of now from this wisdom I have shared. What will others think? I know personally the stones that paradigm shifters get thrown. The irony is that those who mock you today will one day be doing what you are doing. Its not much fun to watch so much unnecessary damage being done. Resist the temptation in program design to conform to mainstream paradigms simply for the sake of conforming, no matter how dogmatically they are presented, or how much you may be ridiculed or ostracized for trusting your intuition over conformity. Make our own minds up based on a combination of respect for your intuition, the athlete/clients intuition, it is YOUR body that will suffer otherwise. WORKSHOP TOPIC No.1: How to achieve the perfect walking lunge...no knee, hip replacements, ankle or back injuries due to bad technique when you have learned these important basics, TRAIN SAFE.

08.01.2022 Shoalhaven Superheroes Volunteer Spotlight Meet Joan Rayner just one of the many amazing Shoalhaven Superheroes volunteers Below Joan shared with us why... she became a Shoalhaven Superheroes Volunteer Hi my name is Joan Rayner I have been a volunteer with Shoalhaven Superheroes since 2017 when I attended my first Volunteer Service & Beyond Awards Gala Dinner, it was such a fun night I decided I wanted to be involved with fund raising for the chronically sick children from the Shoalhaven to enable them to stay here with their families instead of the cost involved in travelling to Sydney. Lots of hard work but well worth the effort especially now that we have the River Retreat at Shoalhaven Heads myself and fellow volunteers enjoy many fun filled hours in our continuing events and fundraising activities. 08.01.2022 HOW TO KEEP IT SAFE 2 DAY WORKSHOP COMING SOON..... TOPIC 2; LAT PULL-DOWN. If you dont realize vulnerable positions youre placing your body in, you wont be able to help prevent injury. The lat pull-down places a lot of stress on the anterior joint capsule of the shoulder and can eventually lead to impingement &/or rotator cuff tears, ... The best way to test if you can pull behind the neck is to hold your hands together behind your back & pull your shoulders back. If you are hyper-mobile or very flexible through the shoulders you can sit your shoulders behind your ears with ease & no pressure,you are ok to proceed, IF YOU CANNOT PULL YOUR SHOULDERS BEHIND YOUR EARS "DO NOT PULL BEHIND YOUR HEAD", you are more likely to rip your anterior deltoids &/or destroy your rotator cuff beyond repair than doing yourself any sort of favour. Instead you should always do your lat pull-downs in front of your head towards your upper chest, assuring shoulder placement, elbow direction, body, leg placement are correct & of course the right amount of weight being utilised. You will still activate your lats WITHOUT DOING ANY DAMAGE. Again I have witnessed injury after injury usually by those who know better or just have to follow the pack, regardless of whether they are training alone or with a trainer. Go with what you can learn by truly qualified professionals that are interested in YOU, please do not follow show ponys that are not QUALIFIED PERSONAL TRAINERS & just out to make themselves look good by pushing you into a dangerous exercise routine through challenging you against others etc where you will focus on the win rather than the technique. # HAD ENOUGH OF REHAB WORK... PREVENTION "KILLS IT" OVER TRYING TO "FIX IT". So much to go through to keep you safe. 2 Day Workshop coming soon.........
