25.01.2022 Last days to book for the Brisbane Recomp Cert course; the only PT cert leading to full diet & comp prep insurance. Full info at http://course.recomp.com.au or book here: http://ow.ly/yePf305vpcU

24.01.2022 Fitness PTs are not allowed or insured to provide body-recomposition/bodybuilding training because, among other reasons, bodybuilding/recomposition: - often seeks to increase BMI above 25, in direct contradiction to the Health Department's primary stated objective of health and fitness exercise. - often promotes the use of high protein diets, in direct contradiction to the Health Department's health eating guidelines for fitness - often promotes excessive volumes of strenu...ous weight training resulting in pain, inflammation and increased risk of injury to bones, muscles and the heart, in direct contradiction to Health Department exercise guidelines Fitness is solely focussed on people NOT being sedentary, overweight or requiring rehabilitation. The documented objectives of 'fitness' are solely to achieve Health Department clinical minimum standards indicating the absence of injury and disease; nothing more; and nothing great. Unlike Fitness PTs, Recomp PTs are insured and allowed to: - coach bodybuilding and/or powerlifting - train athletes for bodybuilding or powerlifting competition - advise on sports nutrition - encourage increasing BMI (in normal weight people). So Recomp does not COMPETE with Fitness Australia or PAA; nor the ASCA. Recomp represents PTs whose services are specifically EXCLUDED from the other organisations. The Recomp insurance is the only PI and PL insurance that properly protects PTs and gyms for high profile, high risk weight training that is excluded by Fitness Australia and Marsh and Guild's insurance. Recomp Certification - which is a separate level above registration - is the only means by which a PT can be properly insured for prescribing diets for bodybuilding/recomposition. So Recomp is absolutely essential to many PTs - and the gyms they work within - precisely because what they do is not fitness; it is Recomp! And Fitness Australia does not allow PT's to do Recomp. Any gym holding an insurance policy that requires their Recomp PTs to also be registered with Fitness Australia should consider having that clause removed. It makes no sense for a PT to have to agree to Fitness Australias Scope of Practice when it contradicts the Recomp service they offer. That contradiction could also provide a legal basis for the insurer to renege on the policy when a claim is made. If PT's in your gym only help overweight, sedentary people get involved with low level, random physical activity, with no sports performance benefit, then Fitness Australia is the place for them to be. But if your PTs are involved in any sort of moderately intense weight training or bodybuilding, then they are operating in direct conflict with Fitness Australias scope of practice and insurance cover. If what you do is recomp, thats when you need Recomp.

24.01.2022 The Recomp team wishes everybody a very Happy New Year! We hope you all have a successful and prosperous 2018.

23.01.2022 Personal Trainers can register with Fitness Australia to NOT offer bodybuilding or powerlifting style coaching. Or they can register with Recomp and coach both the public and athletes in bodybuilding and powerlifting. It's a very simple but huge distinction and you must make a choice. Fitness insurance does not cover bodybuilding, powerlifting or body recomposition! Do not register and insure for fitness if bodybuilding training is what you do!

22.01.2022 Would you like 70% off the ISSN Sports Nutrition Specialist Certification exam in April? No catch. Just tell us to include you (https://recomp.com.au/personaltrainer/contact-recomp/). All the info about the exam is on the Recomp website: https://recomp.com.au//recomp-certification-nutrition-exam/

22.01.2022 New PAA enewsletter warning PT's about being sued. Fitness professionals CANNOT do recomp or bodybuilding! http://ow.ly/4zgP30dTrkU

21.01.2022 Here is a Guild Personal Trainer Insurance update. Note the 3rd-to-last and 4th-to-last points: no bodybuilding or strength training. These coverage exclusions by Guild are appropriate because fitness does NOT extend to bodybuilding or strength training. Marsh doesnt cover them either. Bodybuilding and strength training are athlete development practices. They are the domain of Personal Trainers with Recomp; not fitness. Fitness is a health service. It is solely concerned wit...h the avoidance of injury. Sports training and competition poses a risk of injury. It is a risk to health and fitness. So fitness and sport are not compatible and complimentary. In fact the goals of health professionals completely contradict the goals of athletes and sports coaches. Regardless of whether PT's understand or agree that exercising for fitness contradicts sports performance training, PT insurers do, correctly, separate fitness from sports. So PT's need to choose which camp they belong to? - Insure for fitness to solely help the general public perform low risk, random activity to prevent being unfit and sedentary. - Or register with Recomp to get insurance to provide strength coaching to both the public and athletes all the way to bodybuilding competition; (including diet coverage for Recomp Certified PT's). Personal Trainers insured by Guild or Marsh cannot prep clients for bodybuilding competition or train their clients in the same manner! They are not covered! If they wish to do so, they need to insure through Recomp. Go to: register.recomp.com.au

18.01.2022 Fitness Professional (Personal Trainer) policy exclusions notice from Guild Insurance - Fitness Australia's PT insurance partner. Note the 3rd from last point: POWER LIFTING, BODY BUILDING AND MAXIMAL LIFTS Serious weight training is NOT FITNESS! Therefore it is excluded from a fitness professional's insurance and Fitness Australia's scope of practice. If you are a PT practicing bodybuilding or powerlifting training with the public and/or athletes then you need to register and insure with Recomp! register.recomp.com.au

18.01.2022 Wishing everybody a strong and successful 2019 with much muscle gain and fat loss for you and your clients, from the whole Recomp team.

18.01.2022 Here is a (redacted) reply to a member regarding their Fitness insurance with Fitness Australia partner Guild, confirming that bodybuilding and powerlifting training is not covered by fitness policies. Bodybuilding and Powerlifting are Recomp; not fitness.

18.01.2022 Last hours to book for tomorrow's Brisbane Recomp Certification course and get 80% off the ISSN Sports Nutritionist exam!

14.01.2022 There is a whole lot of confusion about Recomp vs the Recomposer software. They are 2 entirely different things. Recomp REGISTRATION is for EVERY PT who trains clients with weights. And ANY PT with cert 4 can register and insure whenever they like. You register with us instead of Fitness Australia. PTs who do body recomposition and bodybuilding training should register and get PT insurance through Recomp because the fitness industry and fitness insurance does not cover it! Y...ou are not allowed to train people for bodybuilding as a fitness trainer. You can only do it as a Recomp trainer. Recomp CERTIFICATION is for EVERY PT who wants to write diets for their clients and prep clients for bodybuilding. Recomp Certification adds full nutrition coverage to the PT insurance. Its the ONLY way a PT in Australia can get that insurance coverage and write diets for their clients. Any PT who is prepping clients for comp and not Recomp Certified is completely uninsured for what they are doing. Recomposer software is entirely separate to Recomp. True, Recomposer is only available to PTs who are ELIGIBLE for Recomp Certification. But Recomp registration and certification is for every PT wanting to go beyond the mediocrity of the disreputable fitness industry.

So please feel free to forward this email. Please just understand that PTs need Recomp Certification to be insured for prescribing diets; the ISSN Certification is NOT sufficient for insurance, in of itself. Read this to understand what its all about: https://recomp.com.au//recomp-certification-nutrition-exam/

12.01.2022 PT's using DEXA for their Recomp Certification Recomposition Assessment need to ask for the NON-NHANES DEXA Calibration. The NHANES calibration scores bodyfat substantially higher than the original DEXA calibration and the skinfold test that authorised Recomp Assessors use (Certified Specialists). The NHANES calibration results in a dramatically lower Recomposition score, potential failure of the assessment or even ineligibility to begin the assessment. Full details of the assessment here: https://recomp.com.au/personaltrai/body-recomposition-test/

11.01.2022 Why is the Melbourne Fitness Show demonstrating activities that Fitness Professionals are not allowed to practice, their insurance does not cover, and they and their gyms can be held liable for? - Bodybuilding competition: excluded from fitness insurance and scope of practice - Powerlifting competition: excluded from fitness insurance and scope of practice - All sports: excluded from fitness insurance and scope of practice... Like doctors, PTs are only allowed to help people achieve the minimum physical capacity necessary to ENTER recreational sport. They are not qualified or allowed to coach any level of sport. The documented measures of successful fitness means clients: - Perform physical activity - of any sort, at any intensity, focussed on minimised chance of injury, with zero concern of bad skills development - for 30+minutes, 3x+ weekly - BMI under 25 (ie men and women the same size; under kg for 170cm person; no objectives for bodyfat level, but expected to be ABOVE 14% in men and 20% in women) - systolic blood pressure of 110-120 - eating according to government healthy eating guidelines Bodybuilding and Powerlifting directly contradict 'fitness' goals by promoting: - maximal intensity training, with significant injury risk, ignoring pain - increasing BMI over 25 - sports nutrition in direct contradiction to healthy eating guidelines - extreme strong heart producing systolic blood pressure well over 120; due to exercise peak requirements in excess of 800! This is why PT's are not allowed or insured for coaching bodybuilding or powerlifting. Only PT's with Recomp or the ASCA can. Here is a full comparison of PT capabilities: https://recomp.com.au/pt-scope-of-practice-recomp-vs-asca-/ It is extremely dangerous for Fitness shows to misrepresent the activities that fitness professionals are allowed to practice.

10.01.2022 Fitness exercise is vital medicine to the >50% of Australians who are sick from inactivity. But everybody knows not to take medicine when you are NOT sick. You don't take antibiotics when you don't have an infection, or chemotherapy if you don't have cancer. They could make you look, feel and function much worse! The same applies to fitness exercise in athletes and recreational bodybuilders. Please read the Health Dept Guidelines for Physical Activity below. See if you can fi...nd anything that sounds relevant to bodybuilders or athletes? See if you can find anything that sounds relevant to having ripped abs or bulging biceps? You will not because fitness is not about looking or performing great. It is about not being sick or injured. Fitness is a noble and essential service needed by the majority of SEDENTARY Australians. But it is not for athletes or recreational bodybuilders. This is underscored by the Fitness Australia scope of practice forbidding sports coaching and sports nutrition by fitness PT's. Recomp fills the void between Fitness Australia and ASCA, enabling PT's to coach the general public (and athletes) to create lean, muscular bodies, BEYOND Fitness mediocrity, all the way to bodybuilding competition. https://recomp.com.au/personaltrainer http://www.health.gov.au//brochure%20PA%20Guidelines_A5_18

10.01.2022 Recomp welcomes IFBB Pro Bodybuilder, Jon Davie, to the exclusive group of Recomp Certified Pro's. Jon might not realise, but he was the original model for the entire Recomp Certified Program developed in 2009. Jon exemplifies the qualities of a Recomp Coach: a wealth of practical experience with unparalleled success with himself and his clients, to the absolute pinnacle of extreme body recomposition. Jon has proven himself repeatedly in every aspect of the body recomposition... profession; whether it be establishing World Gyms throughout Australia, managing Musashi, coaching clients to endless Australian bodybuilding titles or standing onstage at the Mr Olympia competition, he has been successful everywhere. Jon also bases his advice on measurements of all of his clients to achieve their body composition results. And it is the transparent use of relevant measurement that separates a professional from an amateur, hack or shyster; in all professions. It is the method by which Jon is recognised as one of the most successful comp prep coaches in Australia for many years. PT's today have Jon to thank for a Recomp Certification program that results in the essential insurance no PT otherwise has - with NO COURSE - quickly, inexpensively and unobtrusively. Like Jon, a PT simply needs to prove their ability in the real world and enjoy the benefits of the only certification in Australia enabling the dieting and coaching of the public and athletes. http://certify.recomp.com.au

06.01.2022 Recomp Certification is the only way a PT in Australia can get true bodybuilding nutrition coverage without doing a degree in nutrition. There is NO COURSE! You just need to prove your competence by passing 3 basic, relevant assessments. STRENGTH TEST You get witnessed lifting some weights that you should be lifting every week anyway. Or, any sanctioned powerlifting competition results can be used.... 8 WEEK BODY RECOMPOSITION TEST You keep training and dieting like you should be anyway, to improve your body however you want; and get your body composition officially tested. ISSN NUTRITION EXAM You answer some nutrition questions, on your laptop, from the privacy of your own home, at any time of day or night that suits you. We even offer 70% off the exam for doing nothing. Once you pass an assessment, it is passed forever. We dont care if it takes you many years to do the other assessments. And you can reattempt the assessments infinite times. It really could not be simpler. BUT there are absolutely no exclusions and no bending of the rules or dropping of the standards for anyone, ever. We are extremely strict on this. You must pass all 3 assessments according to the rules and process detailed on the website. Unlike every other certification, Recomp Certification cannot be bought. Most personal trainers do not have the competence become Recomp Certified. Those PTs who do successfully earn their Recomp Certification knows it really means something. https://recomp.com.au/personaltrainer/recomp-certification/
