This question is generally quite difficult to answer as there are many facets to consider when one fitness goal is understood. The role of a supplement is to supplement what youre not getting from your everyday diet. Most people do not get enough of the essential vitamins and minerals, and a sufficient protein intake due to poor diet. Carbs are made up of sugar molecules and is broken down into glucose (sugar) before being absorbed into the bloodstream. 1 gram of carbs provides 4 calories. There are 3 main types of carb within our food. ... * Starches (Complex Carbs): These provides slow and steady release of energy throughout the day. Examples are bread, rice, potatoes and pasta. * Sugar (Simple/Refined Carbs): These provide a quick release of energy. Foods that contain the simple type of carb are fruits, honey, fruit juices, vegetables. And for foods that have refined sugar are chocolate, candy, biscuits and soft drinks. * Fibre: is only found in food that come from plants. This helps with bowel health and may lower the cholesterol. Understanding that fat is 9 calories per gram, our bodies require only a small amount of good fats to function and help prevent disease, improve skin health, brain function and optimise hormones. However, too much fat especially the wrong type of fat can cause serious health issues such as obesity, high blood pressure and higher cholesterol levels.... Saturated fat are to be minimised or avoid as these contain fat that causes health problems. Saturated fat are found in fatty meat, diary, lard and cream. The fats that are beneficial to our diet and aid in our health are unsaturated, monosaturated and polysaturated fats.
