Eligible community organisations are able to apply for grants of up to $50,000 for shade development and can include up to $700 for sun protection items (including GST). Applicants may also request up to $700 for sun protection items only.

19.01.2022 RCJCC TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS Hi Tigers, Our Under 14 coach John Graham works in Ouyen during the first part of the week and cannot make training on Wednesday aft...ernoons. Therefore we will be training on Thursday evenings at the Main Football Ground nets Quandong Park at normal time of 4PM. This arrangement will continue until our first game when we will know our age group playing squads after that we will reassess for the Under 10s and Under 12s. 19.01.2022 100 years ago today - Red Cliffs played cricket against Yatpool in Yatpool. From Red Cliffs Centenary 2021 The Sunraysia Daily reported, "A pleasant afternoon w...as spent at Yatpool by a team of returned soldiers from Red Cliffs settlement on Saturday afternoon [October 23], when a match was played against the Yatpool eleven. The scores were: Red Cliffs, 66; Yatpool 34. S. K. McCallum contributed 15 to the score of the winning team, and S. Barker and A. Marshall 11 each. For the losers, M. Pedler made 11 runs and G. Johnson 6. The bowling averages were: Red Cliffs - S. Arnold, 4 wickets for 8 runs; T. Hogan, 3 for 1; and McQuie 2 wickets for 3, Yatpool H. O'Reilly 5 wickets for 11 runs. Afternoon tea was provided by the Yatpool ladies." This is the first Red Cliffs Cricket Club match we can find record of, so it may have been their first ever match against another team. It appears it was a pre-season warm up for their imminent inaugural Mildura and District Cricket Association season, an association they had only just joined two days earlier. 19.01.2022 Arrangements for Saturday 31 October 2020 following recent rain A Grade Nursery Ridge vs South West (QP5 -Onion Patch) Match is abandoned because pitch is sodden and preparation impossible.... Fire Brigade vs Tempy (QP Oval 4) Wicket is wet but was drying fast with a bit of sun and wind tonight and hopefully tomorrow morning. FBCC will attempt rolling and preparation from early morning to try and get the game going. Tempy will be advised in time to avoid travelling if the pitch does not come up. Report to ground unless otherwise advised tomorrow morning. Ouyen vs Millewa (Blackburn Park) Game on - Report to Ground. B Grade All games are to go ahead- Report to grounds. These arrangements are subject to change if conditions deteriorate over night, and it is presently looking a bit threatening to the East. 18.01.2022 Hi Tigers Its been a crazy 6 months since the end of last cricket season. We are working hard to understand and forecast what the new season may look like.... With the success of our premiership winning Under 14s last season and a desire to keep the side together, the RCCA has resolved that the Red Cliffs Junior Cricket Club will field an Under 16, Under 14, Under 12 (J2) and Under 10 (J1) in the SCA junior competition this season. I am on the Sunraysia Cricket Association Junior Committee this year. The junior committee is trying to come to grips with how to manage an increase in teams that have nominated for the season, and venues where they can be scheduled to play. Bottom line is there are not enough grounds to handle the demand, so moving the Under 16 to a Friday afternoon at 5:00pm has been put forward as an option. This would: - maximise the attraction to this particular age group, which historically been the most difficult to retain numbers for - make it easier for parents with kids playing in different age groups - be easier for kids in the Under 16s to play senior cricket on Saturday afternoon. - Game format may be mainly split innings 2 day games over 2 weekends (ie each team bats and bowls each day of the match) I have confirmed our home game venue for the Under 14s and Under 16s as the Onion Patch at Quandong Park with backup at the other turf wicket and Cardross if required - thanks to Nursery Ridge, Fire Brigade, Millewa South West and Cardross for their support. I envisage that with announcements to be made next Sunday by the Premier about how we might transition out of Stage 3 from Sunday 13th September 2020, that we start to get a clearer idea of what the coming junior and senior cricket season may look like. In the meantime, please provide me with confirmation that all our TIGERS in all grade are ready for the new season, and provide any feedback on the Friday afternoon option. And in closing, please have your kids recruit more cricketers of all ages to fill our 4 sides(and more if we can) we want to keep growing and have Red Cliffs and district kids playing cricket for the TIGERS. As previously advised, we are fielding sides in: UNDER 16 UNDER 14 UNDER 12 UNDER 10 We hope that all Tigers from last season are ready to go again this season - especially our Under 14s Premiers from last season, most of whom will be up in the Under 16s. 10.01.2022 MALLEE MURRAY JUNIOR COUNTRY WEEK UNDER 13 SUNRAYSIA vs CENTRAL CRICKET REGION HENSHILWOOD OVAL IRYMPLE... Centrals went down to Sunraysia on Sunday afternoon. Sunraysia won the toss and batted. Zaviar Grennan was our captain for the day and It was our intention to share the bowling around with most getting 3 or 4 overs. Kyle O’Brien and Harry Scott opened the bowling with Kyle bowling very economically and picking up our first wicket at 17, bowling Josh Briscoe for 9. Harry Scott at the other end was a little wayward but tried very hard and improved as he went along. Finn Brown bowled first change and his 3 overs for 11 runs were very tidy, in tandem with Kayde Shaw. We were keeping pressure on but not taking wickets with Charlie Goldup bowling an excellent spell and one of our 2 younger boys Ryder Evans also doing great work. Sunraysia’s left handed opener Colbey Marr was still only 18 runs but batting well, when Tyler Bounias in his second over bowled Tankard and followed up with another wicket 2 balls later with a catch to Dylan Leersen. Tyler by pitching the ball up was causing problems for the batsmen, and the pressure paid off with Flinn pouncing on the ball half way to the fence and throwing the wicket down to run out Falkhead. Dylan Leersen had taken the gloves from Zaviar and pulled off a great diving catch off our youngest player Riley Hansen who was bowling very well, completing his 3 overs for only 7 runs great bowling Riley. From 1/61 Sunraysia had collapsed to 7/91 with a further wicket to Flinn but Colbey Marr was still there on 31 and batting better and better as our lads started to tire. Campbell Penny bowled Tassone making the score 8/123 but from there, with Colbey getting his 50, he opened his shoulders and we could not break the partnership finishing the innings (40 overs) at 8/166 with Colbey 66 not out. Special mention to Charlie Goldup and Finn Brown for the last two overs, where they bowled full at the stumps brilliantly restricting the runs which were now following freely from Colbey’s bat. The boys were pretty tired after their effort but they had stuck with it and played as a team, backed up well in the field and listened and took advice very well well captained Zaviar. Our turn to bat and things did not go very well, their bowling was accurate and they put extreme pressure on our batters, and we failed to protect our wickets. We needed to keep them bowling so they to would begin to tire. Couple of exceptions were Charlie Goldup and Ryder Evans. Charlie came in at number 4 in the 9th over and was out for 11 17 overs later, he showed great patience and technique was supported well by Flinn and Ryder who was there for about 9 overs great effort Charlie and Ryder. We finally were all out for 38, but there was lots of learning to had in the experience of facing good bowling and fielding. I was very proud of the teamwork and support that the boys had for each other and I hope they’re looking forward to Swan Hill in 3 weeks. 06.01.2022 Hi Tigers, Its CRICKET SEASON again and our short build up with training is over now the games begin. We are operating in a different world at the moment deal...ing with COVID-19 and we need to play our part Sign in on arrival and sign out before you leave venues Under 16s and Under 14s are away games so you will need to abide by the HOME TEAM procedures. Under 12s and Under 10s are at home so the teams we play will need access to our sanitisers (if they don’t have their own) and follow our signage and processes including sign in and sign out. Try and use your own equipment if possible and avoid sharing if you must use the club’s equipment (including helmets) then it needs to be disinfected with the spray we will have with the equipment and laid in the sun for as long as possible before someone else uses it. Hand Sanitiser and Wipes will also be available to wipe hands regularly. We will need to have parents assist by being close by to monitor their children’s movements and support us to ensure kids operate in a COVID safe manner particularly the Under 14s ands Under 16s as the Under 12s and Under 10s age groups do not appear to present as much risk. Stay separated from the opposition on the sidelines. Avoid getting too close to each other - remember the 1.5 metre rule. Players umpires parents etc are to hand sanitise each time they go onto the field or come off the field. The ball to to be sanitised each 10 overs or 40 minutes. Have your own drink bottles and water the RCJCC will not be supplying them and if kids want something to eat they need to bring their own if we supply any fruit (we are not planning anything at this stage) it will need to be individually wrapped. The RCJCC has a COVID-19 PLAN and I am the Covid officer all the documentation is in my folder and is available to anyone who wishes to have a look is is also on our Facebook page. BOTTOM LINE IS THE COACHES AND SCORERS NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE ALL THIS WORK FOR THE TIGER KIDS AND FOR US TO COMPLY WITH OUR COVID PLAN - PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE TO ASSIST. 06.01.2022 Hi Tigers The following has been received from the SCA regarding the junior playing times and venues Following the SCA Board meeting last night it has been deci...ded to keep the timing of junior cricket matches as per the 2019/20 setup. There is too much variance in opinions around this topic and given the current environment and timing we have decided to concentrate efforts on just getting the season started. In saying that I would like to continue the discussion throughout the season should the team numbers remain the same or increase as ground availability will be tight. Games will be of a one day format for the first 6 week block as a minimum. Season start: Saturday, October 17 (subject to restrictions easing) Fridays Masterblasters (pending registrations) Saturdays J1, J2, Under 14s D1, Under 14s D2, Under 16s Sundays Under 14 Girls So playing days and times stay the same for this season for the RCJCC GO TIGERS Geoff Christensen Coordinator

The announcement of our partnership will be made by ACI on Friday 4th September 2020. Below are some slides that briefly outline the program content This is a top class program, and its free of charge to participants. Once we settle on our players and coaches for the upcoming season we will distribute access accounts to everyone so they can start the program.
