25.01.2022 Robbo’s last game as a Red Cap

22.01.2022 Slayer of Day 4 - Nick Wilson. With 2/13 off 5ov and a good outfield catch he was a unanimous choice. He’s had a good carnival with both bat and ball.

21.01.2022 Return of the Hutch as Slayer. A game saving innings and then taking a screamer in slips to give us a key wicket.

21.01.2022 Day 1 of the Br Jordan Redden Trophy v Newman College. Two wins in the the two 20/20 Games. Plenty of cricket tomorrow at Forrest East with the final 50 over game to be played.

19.01.2022 Redcaps on the Marist tour 2019 enjoying a great meal after their win against Newman College at the RSL Workers Club in Lismore

18.01.2022 Last day of the three game match series against Newman College. The Red Caps did well with a 3-0 sweep. A big thanks to the Newman lads and their staff for coming down for two days of great cricket. Also to the Marist Cricket Club who always look after the College. Today Newman were bowled out in the 42 over 10/111. Stenhouse 3/29 (10 overs) & Lockley 3/9 (5 overs) Batting second the Red Caps chased it down in the 35 over 5/114. Wilson 59 Michell & Norrish 12. Slayer was Lockley who went in the session before lunch making 4 from 47 balls.

18.01.2022 Siblings again. Good to see the senior player so happy to have his sibling join him. Emma got 1/14 on debut.

17.01.2022 Lads on the local news. Nick W & Cooper C-D batting. Thank heavens Jake M could string together a coherent sentence. Well Daniel N was there for moral support.

16.01.2022 Slayer for the day. Young Brandon. Opened the bowling. 1/4 from 4 ov with two maidens.

16.01.2022 Hard day in the field. Opened the bowling and came on as the finisher. Lil Norro with 2/14 off 5. Missed out on a hat trick.

14.01.2022 A good win in Game 3 of the Kim Hughes Shield. Red Caps 10/178 (Hutchinson 42, Stenhouse 31 & Michell 25) bowled out Manea 9/127 (Cox 4/10, O’Rourke 2/15 & Stenhouse 2/22)

14.01.2022 Kim Hughes Shield Results - As the Red Caps are even on points with Dalyellup an effort was made to increase percentage today. In todays game a sporting gesture from Bunbury Senior High School put the Red Caps in to bat. BCC 6/353 (40 ov) Allen 71(51) Clarke-Dehring 70(48) Hutchinson 63(46) Le Roux 45(26) Ryan 30(20) Norrish 29 (31) BSHS 8/70 cc (20.1 ov) Gilchrist 2/6 (5 ov)... Hopefully another good game next week may see us to the finals

14.01.2022 Tough Day ... Grammar got off to a flyer scoring 214 losing only 3 wickets. Not our best effort. We worked very hard to finish on 7/187 off 40 overs only 27 runs short. Cooper(39), Jye(30), Riley(29) & Liam(30) all got amongst the runs. Eddie picked up slayer for 8 overs 0/16 with 3 maidens.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to JL. A stalwart of Newman College Cricket.

11.01.2022 End of the Kim Hughes Shield for 2021. Undefeated but second on percentile. We finished on 2.46 behind 2.96 for Dalyellup. Only one team goes through from the South West despite Kent Street in Metro making finals after only winning 2 games. Nothing we can do ... we have tried before ... The WACA will not change it.... Today against Grace Christian College the Red Caps won the toss and batted. On a difficult pitch we scored 10/218 from 38 overs. Again Clarke-Dehring 57(36) & Le Roux 22(20) got the team off to a quick start. Michell 22(37) & Hutchinson 16(15) through the middle. The youngsters Norrish 20(39) & Stenhouse 35(55) ensured we batted out our overs. In reply Grace 10/28. Lockley 3/3 (5 ov) Gilchrist 2/11 (5 ov) Towers 3/9 (5 ov) & O'Rourke 2/2 (4.1 ov) A good season. Thankyou to Liam & Jye for your time in the Red Cap. They missed today because they are responsible 12s.

10.01.2022 Game against Marcellin College - Bulleen. Lads bowled very well to get them all out for 197. Great areas stopped them getting above 4 an over. Tight bowling from young Sam Lockley and great fielding from Cooper Clarke-Dehring put them under pressure all day. Good start from Nick Wilson and Cooper again put us into a competitive position. Despite losing wickets the boys kept after the target falling short by 43 runs. The Carnival after our win against Newman College which we set as a key goal is now about smaller targets. Today the lads achieved many of those and still remain positive for the next two games.

10.01.2022 First XI v BCGS

09.01.2022 Day 5 - Last game against St John’s Woodlawn. It was hot ... temperatures hovered around 37C. Lost the toss, sent into the field and with our 12th man from Woodlawn decidedly unenthusiastic we knew it would be a long day. ... Opening with Wilson and our secret weapon Norrish the run rate was severely restricted. The spinners toiled hard picked a smattering of wickets. Woodlawn’s Captain and WK came on and we just couldn’t get them out. Lockley came on and immediately tempted the Captain out of his crease ... Clarke-Dehring hits the stumps and he’s gone. Until we realised that after smashing the middle stump the rock hard pitch returned the stump without dislodging the bails. No one was smiling. The opening midget came back onto bowl. Norrish got the captain with LBW that came on low with another bowled in the next ball. He almost got the WK out on 99. We then spent the next 30 minutes listening to how Robbo should have put him on earlier. Thank the lord he then fell asleep in the change room. (Look in the corner during the warm up) Our batting was pretty ordinary. Trying to get energetic about a 300+ run chase was always a big ask. Robbo got a start but it all fell apart. Smith and Giles showed a bit of heart at the end. Disappointingly Newman College somehow beat Sale putting us into bottom of the ladder. None of the lads made the Carnival XI. Eddie Smith was awarded Marcellin Award for the College. His efforts throughout the weekend were tireless. Thanks for letting us take your young men with us to represent the College

09.01.2022 Slayer Day 3 - Cooper Clarke-Dehring. He must have enjoyed the break away from wicketkeeping duties. He had a good run out and a couple of catches. As if that wasn’t enough he posted his first half century at the Marist Carnival with 62. A day to remember Coops

07.01.2022 Game 3 v Manea. Won the toss and batting

04.01.2022 Day 4 - Playing Sale A very hot day. Few blood noses and some very minor injuries on a rock hard ground. The conditions of the pitches after 18 months of drought are pretty good. Sale batted first. Norrish got his first bowl opening with Robbo. Only 8 runs off his three overs gives an idea of the pure intimidation that he unleashed. ... The first sessions we were very good keeping the Sale run rate under control. The final session the heat and tiredness allowed Sale to post a 200+ score. The first against us. A highlight being the lads recalling a Sale batsman after our Lbw appeal was given out as caught behind. Cooper with Robbo were sure that we picked it up off the ground so the batsman was recalled. We batted positively however some quality bowling from Sale got into us. Riley showed some excellent composure to get our top score before failing to realise how keen the #11 was to get off the mark. All out in the 90s. But another coach in his own words not keen to play us in two years.

03.01.2022 Game against BSHS ... lost the toss. Bowled them out for 10/84. Stenhouse 4/15. Final result Red Caps 3/86 chased it down in the 16 over. Coops again with 48no and Liam scoring an aggressive 17.

02.01.2022 Slayer of day 2 at the 2019 Marist Carnival was Edward Smith. He bowled tightly but mostly for his amazing role of holding down an end and scoring 11 no to guide us home for our win against Newman College. Well done Ed.

02.01.2022 Touring Team 2020 This year due to COVID - 19 restrictions the three Australian Marist School Cricket Carnival's were cancelled. We were planning to travel to Canberra. Fortunately the Red Caps and Newman College will play three games on Monday 7th & Tuesday 8th December with the ground to be confirmed.... On the first day two 20/20 over games and a 50/50 on the next day. These games will decide the Brother Jordan Redden Trophy currently held by Bunbury. The team will be Liam Cox - Captain (263) Nicholas Wilson (265) Jake Michell (267) Luke Hutchinson (268) Cooper Clarke- Dehring (271) Jye Ryan (272) Sam Lockley (273) Daniel Norrish (274) Riley Stenhouse (275) Oliver Reilly (276) Cameron Wright (277) Brandon O'Rourke (278)

01.01.2022 Game 2. T20 Another good win by 7 wickets by BCC with 3 overs to spare. Wilson 26 (29), Hutchinson 22 no (24) and Dehring 25 (17). We have made a good start to retaining the Br Jordan Reddin Trophy.
