24.01.2022 ***Copy of the email just sent FYI...*** Hey Everyone... By now I hope you all have received the messages from both myself and the "Groves Management INC." U12s CEO Hayley, that our game has been cancelled due to the inclement weather weve had in the past few days....Continue reading

23.01.2022 Ok here we go. Game one for the season is a grading game against Park Ridge Pirates, at 12pm @ Pine Rivers details....... Pine Rivers vs Redcliffe... 12:00, at Rob Akers Reserve, (Just off Bells Pocket Rd, Lawnton) ref pics attached. This is an away game for us so that will mean we wear WHITE SHORTS for the game. The duties I have listed are: Water Carriers: Anderson Dixon Boundry Umpires: Gale Clark Goal Umpire: Mawston Fruit: Davison As we are starting the season I ask that the boys are dressed in their slacks and polo shirts arriving to the ground 1hr before the game starts. If you are listed for a duty can you please txt, email me back to confirm you are ok to carry out the task and I know that you are aware youve been selected this week. ****Also if anyone has not fully registered their child we need to know ASAP as they will not be able to play if not done by Friday and Ill have to adjust the team accordingly. **** As of today I am aware that all of our 21 are available to play so please let me know if anyone is away. If nobody has any questions for me, ill see you all Friday night at training. Thanks Guys. Tim.

23.01.2022 Hi guys. Firstly i hope everyone had a great and safe Easter. Also i hope you all are treating my boys well over the school holidays and havent given them away or sent them off to boarding school? Find strength, we need them as the season approaches. On that.....if you arent aware, the AFLBJ have released the first round (grading games) for the season. Our first game is vs Park Ridge (they competed in the Bris East league last year) on the 17th April @ 12:00 at the Pine Riv...ers home ground. This is good news as its only 15mins travel for us!!! This also means we only have a little over a week to get everyone FULLY registered with the AFL and the club. So if this is you please please please let me know so we can get it sorted. Or please feel free to contact our club official Hayley Dixon on 0438 326 255. Further more i again need to put the request out for anyone interested in becoming our team manager for this season??? As Ive previously mentioned i am happy for this role to have as big or as little involvement as you wish. All we at least need is someone to take control of duty / task allocation before each game. This is something that we (coaches) cant fit into our pregame routine. I am more than happy to continue to do the heavy lifting on weekdays. However if you are keen to have more involvement in the running of the team than that? (Eg. Admin, organizing events, correspondence / social media, dealing with the club etc.).... you are more than welcome. Thats about all for now. I will take this opportunity to convey how impressed we have been with the team....especially our last Tuesday training session. The boys were really switched on and sitting back observing we can see some big improvement over the past months. Good job lads . Keep it going . As always the correspondence line is open both ways so please ask me whatever you need.....and anyone interested in the managers job please let me know and well chat further. Thanks everyone. Tim.

22.01.2022 Hi All. Thought Id throw out an email / FB / message (whatever your preferred means of correspondence reception may be)....Continue reading

21.01.2022 A big Under12s congratulations goes out to Chrysler, who has been a Charger (pun intended) today finishing top 3 in his cross country. Go Chrys! The team is proud!

20.01.2022 Appreciate Katherines words here.... Thanks Kath!

19.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Mothers day round kicks off tonight and the Brisbane Juniors umpiring group is raising money for breast cancer to support all of the women in our game. Whether it be the canteen ladies, or the Mums that drive us to games and training, the game wouldnt be the same without them. For the cause, we are all wearing pink socks this weekend during all of our games, and would love support through donations to the McGrath Foundation. Its easy, just click on the link an...d place your donations!! Every single person has at least a sister, mother, Aunty, wife, daughter, friend etc and an estimated 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Please help this cause. (Link below) Cheers guys. Coach Aaron. http://mcgrathfoundationportal.gofundraise.com.au//AFLBris

19.01.2022 Up and at them!!! Dont forget our Sunday sessions 10am. Not many Sundays left till the season starts and we have a lot to teach the boys structure wise......so hoping for big numbers on weekends. See you soon!

19.01.2022 I want to take a second to say how proud and how moved i was today. Given the recent events that have affected both sides of my (personal) family over the past ...few weeks. My other (football) family thought they would show their respect by each displaying black arm bands in todays game. I was truly touched and a little taken back by the gesture, but above all i am filled with pride that our Under 12s are yet again showing that they continue to be there for one another and now for me. The love spreads from the players, to the team officials, and also onto the parents. You all are a fantastic group and i am truly honored to be your coach. My family thanks you. See more

18.01.2022 Tough day at the office for us this morning.

17.01.2022 How the club faired yesterday and this morning. . Clean up on 10:30am

16.01.2022 Almost time to get your Tiger stripes on! Ok here we go. We have:... Boundary / Goal Chesterman. Mawston. Elson. Timekeeper / scoreboard: Andrea. Water: Groves / Montgomery Canteen: Chesterman / Gale (Happy for this one to be organized between everyone if they want to swap around throughout the match) And Aarons dad Pete is going to take care of first aid duties. Thanks to everyone that has put their hand up to help it means so much as we wont be able to function this year without people chipping in to help. For those that havent replied yet and can help out.....please make yourself known tomorrow and obviously Im happy if you guys chop and change the duties to share the loads. Thanks once again guys and Ill see you 9am tomorrow. Tim . P.S dont forget to get some water into your little champs tonight.....itll be a bit of running tomorrow.

16.01.2022 Sad News from the Under 12s camp from last night. Upsetting to deliver the info that Ollie has suffered a broken collarbone and will miss the remainder of the footy season. Landing square on his shoulder in a tackling drill last night at training, Oliver was dealt the worst luck in what was an innocent exercise. ... He is one of the most well liked and well drilled members of our group and is extremely disappointed with the results of his xrays. Although he may not be able to run onto the field with the rest of his team for the remaining games, Oliver will definitely still be around and a vital member of our team off the field. Your team is behind you all the way Buddy. ...And the whole Redcliffe Tigers AFC family wish you a speedy recovery. #seventeen17

15.01.2022 Breaking News!!!!!! WE HAVE OUR MANAGER(S)!!!!!!!!!! For those of you who dont know this handsome couple, they are Hayley (left), and Leigh (Right) or if you prefer Grover They are Jack Groves parents.... I personally have known Leigh and Hayley since this group of boys were in the under 8s, so they too have been on the Tigers scene for over 4yrs. They are a great acquisition for the team and I am very excited to be working alongside these two in the coming season. I know theyll do a fantastic job. Thanks to everyone who replied to my SOS yesterday, and to the couple of parents that showed up today to discuss the job. Big big thanks to Wally, Tami, and Steve Chesty for offering a life line had we got stuck filling the position. I urge all of you to introduce yourself when you see Haley or Leigh in the coming week, and take the initiative to hunt them down on gamedays if you are listed for a duty so it makes their pregame tasks more enjoyable. Again I cant thank the Groves (and the other parents that offered) enough, and news like this really eases the pain of the Western Bulldogs 3pt loss today. ***Dont forget to stay tuned this week for details about our first game this Sunday.*** Cheers Guys. Tim. P.S.On a side note, It was fantastic to get big numbers to training today and it made the progress teaching of positioning / stoppage set-ups really easy! I wont make Tuesday night so Ill leave the group in Aaron / Callums hands that night..however I do have Friday night off so I will see you all then.

15.01.2022 Hey Team. I know it’s been a while since I’ve touched base but we still have some minor formalities to get through before the true end of the 2016 football season is wrapped up.... Firstly I hope everyone inc. the boys are enjoying their break from the weekend games. I personally have re-equated myself with all the odd jobs that have been put on hold throughout the season..unfortunately they didn’t magically disappear over the past 10 months. The initial agenda to pass forward, the end of season Youth Awards Night / Presentation dinner. Please don’t forget about this which is on the 15th October, at Norths League Club on ANZAC Av, Kallangur. This is a semi-formal dinner, and the team is required to wear their gameday arrival uniform. So club shirt, black pants, black shoes. Please ref the attached flyer for full details. This is a great night to be a part of, and a great way to formally bring an end to the season. Here the team will be presented with their team photo, as well as the announcement of the Best & Fairest, Players / Player etc. I’ll also pass on for those that are unaware, the AFL Queensland have released the age groups for next season. And unfortunately they have indicated that there will not be an Under 13s competition next year in Queensland. There will only be U12s/ U14s / U16s / & U18s. I know this is extremely disappointing but as it is a State league decision there isn’t a lot that can be done. At this early stage I can’t give you any information on what the club plans to do..however it will most likely be in a position to field two U14s teams, numbers permitting. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me and if I can’t help you I will endeavor to hunt down an answer for you. One last issue I’m after is photos. If any of you have any photos from this seasonis there any chance you could send them onto me??? I’m trying to gather a few together but obviously being the coach I could only rely on some of my helpful parental volunteers to snap a few for me this year. I do have some but would really appreciated as many more as I can get my hands on. You can either email them : [email protected] Facebook them: Tim Dunlop Or I can organise to grab them off you via a memory stick etc. if you prefer???? Other than that.i’m still thinking of having a break up day one weekend soon, as a way to just wrap up our individual team for the year and give us all one last meeting before the boys head off to the new season. I’ll be in touch.and like I said, please call, txt, email, FB if you have any further questions, queries. Cheers guys. Tim.

13.01.2022 Better late than never.....but heres the song from last weeks win. getting better as a group and as a choir!

13.01.2022 Hi guys. I know its late notice...but the club is putting on a pie night for the u12s and u13s after training tonight if your keen to stick around for a bit. Dont forget we have our team photo to be taken at 6:30pm and the boys (and girl) will need to have their Black shorts and playing socks for the pic. So from there into a free pie and supporting the junior teams that are also playing a game after our training session.... Its our last training session so hope to see you all there tonight. For our injured warriors ....i hope you make it down atleast by 6pm to get in on the photo. Other than that please let me know if you cant make tonight or to the game this weekend. Cheers guys. Tim.

12.01.2022 Best of the pics I was able to take over the two days. Once again well done boys.

12.01.2022 Not a great game to finish on.....but always proud of the boys. And will always be proud to call them MY boys (and girl).

11.01.2022 Hey Tiger Family. Just for those that are unaware......next Friday the 12th August (our last training session). Will be our team photo night. So please remember to bring your playing gear inc. Socks and BLACK shorts. We will have our photos taken after training at approx 6pm. Probably allow around 30mins for them to be completed. ... Remember the team photo is free to those that have volunteered throughout the season. For everyone else a fee is in place. Please check with The Groves Management inc. If you are unsure of your status. Other than that.....it is Aarons turn to take the reins of the team this week while i drop back into the "observer" / runner role. Please make sure your child plays extra well this week so my running duties are kept to a minimum. Thanks in advance.

11.01.2022 Appreciate Katherine's words here.... Thanks Kath!

09.01.2022 Not a great day at the office..but something we can build on and learn from. Thanks to Brett Christensen for the pics this week.

09.01.2022 Huge thanks to Stephen Chesterman for taking the pics today......great shots.

09.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Hayley (Jacks Mum) here. Ive got to know some of you over the previous few years that Jack has been playing. For those I havent met yet, Leigh and I will do our best to introduce ourselves over the next few weeks. The best way to contact me is via text on 0409 599 496 or by reply email. I can be a bit difficult to catch by phone, but if you do need to call me, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can. ... Leigh and I are happy to do our best to answer any questions you might have, however we are new to this job, so we may need to ask around to those "in the know" and get back to you! Most weeks, we will both be wearing our "Manager hats" at each game, however some weeks there will be either Leigh or myself. The game for this week is another grading game. This week the boys will be playing "Aspley Brown" at 12pm. The game is at Calamvale Community College, Calamvale. The address for the ground is 2533 Beaudesert Rd, Calamvale. This is technically a home game...so the boys will need their BLACK SHORTS for the game. The boys will need to arrive at the ground wearing their slacks and polo shirts and if you can have them there at 11am please. The duties for this week are: Water Carriers: Anderson & Montgomery Boundary Umpires: Chesterman & Elson Goal Umpire: Cordero Time Keeper: Marsland Scoreboard: Miszuk Fruit: Cypher If you are listed for a duty can you please txt me, or email me back to confirm you are able to carry out the task and we know that you are aware youve been selected this week. Lastly, please let myself or Tim know if anyone will be away for the game. Thanks, Hayley & Leigh

08.01.2022 Got ya! First win on the board and as a group i dont think we could be happier. It isnt an easy task to tackle a game head on in slippery conditions but our boys showed some bigtime Redcliffe heart today and came away with the rewards. Also to do it against Sherwood who are a strong club they should be proud. Personally i believe any win against a Magpie jersey is a win for everybody!!! Haha. ... Well done boys enjoy the first one for the year and you even have a day off tomorrow in recognition. As always you parents that help out week in week out are just as important to the group as the players and we cant thank you enough. .....it was great to see the mothers dominate the duties this week. Wally and Ant were well out numbered (and some might say out classed) by the mums, but still flew the flag for us dads. Awesome job by all and again thank you. In the group picture we followed an AFL tradition where any new members in their first win were inside the team circle for the song. As you can see given the new arrivals there were almost more inside than out! Cheers all and well regroup Tuesday. Tim.

04.01.2022 ***Ground Still Closed*** Unfortunately our club ground at Rothwell is still closed by the council so our team will be training at Langdon Park Margate, at our usual times. As it is an afternoon shift week for me i will be unable to attend, so Aaron and Callum will be running things tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience.

04.01.2022 Hi guys. Im after a response to this message......but first let me say how happy i was after the turn out for last Saturdays team game. We had great numbers and those that played, performed well for this stage of the season. An extra big thanks to the parents who may have had other commitments over the weekend but still managed to get their little superstar out to the ground. Very much appreciated. Now, Im putting the feelers out for a few things....... 1. Im busy trying to organize a practice match with Aspley on the 20th March. Please let me know if you can or cant make that date (dont have a def time yet, but maybe 10am @ Redcliffe). Aspley are keen for this date. To be able to play in the 20th March practice match you must be fully registered with both the club and the AFLBJ. I know pretty much everyone has done this so it shouldnt be a problem for our team. 2. On that day Im after some parental help, so if anyone at all is available for things like...water carriers, boundary umpires, first aider, and possible canteen??? Please let me know. With the exception of the canteen, we cant have a game without the other positions being filled. 3. Just wondering availability of the boys / families over the easter and school holiday break? Are people going away etc? Just so we can better organize training / practice matches over that time. I dont want to have something in mind and then find out half the team is unavailable. Also... I want to officially put the feelers out for anyone that is interested in being a formal member of our team and taking on the Team Managers role? Usually this job can be a little involved, however most of the weekday duties of the role will be absorbed by myself so the majority of your tasks will be on gameday when i am unable to carryout manager tasks. For those that dont know these are swaping teamsheets with the opposition, organizing the boundary umpires, goal umpire, water carriers etc. And generally being the team "go to" person while we (the coaches) are busy coaching. Also you may be required to handle a little admin duties....but nothing too dramatic. You will however be required to suit up on gameday and join us in the coaches box in club polo shirt and slacks (or skirt). Please consider this position if you have the time to commit to the team as its a great way to get that little more involved with the group. If you are at all interested please let me know and we can chat about it next time i see you. Thats all i have for now....but please contact me if you have any dramas with anything Ive passed on. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tim. P.s Please forgive me as Ive punched this msg out on my phone (painful) sitting yet again on the side of a footy field. So please forgive any typos etc. Haha ....hope it make sense.

04.01.2022 Hi Guys. Just a touch base as I havent had any interest in the team managers position that needs to be filled. As stated previously this position usually intales running the weekly admin of the team, organising parental gameday duties, printing the team sheets and liaising with the opposition manager on gameday, and just generally being the teams go to / contact person. Further more the manager would be the last piece of the puzzle dressed in uniform alongside us coaches on ...the sidelines. Also it goes without saying that this position would (volunteer) qualify you to receive the team photo this year. Speaking to the clubs youth coordinator he believes it would be pretty hard to operate this season without a manager and would impact us very negatively. If need be, I am willing to try to cover the manager role as well. However it WILL require a commitment from all of you the parents. For example everyone will need to be at away games atleast 1hr 30 mins before the start of the match.and at least 2hrs before the start of home games. This is the only way Ill be able to cover all the gameday duties as well as help prepare the team to take the field. And Ill need all parents that are listed for a gameday duty to come straight to me so I dont have to run around to find people. The only flaw with this option is if we have an early game it will be a very early start to the day (especially if were travelling). So please if you have a problem with whats written above, please let me know cause I dont see any other way to get it all done. Or if you are interested in the position again let me know ASAP so we can get the ball rolling in your new position. Look, I extremely appreciate responses along the lines of Parent x is happy to help with manager type duties where they can. however I cant run the risk of relying on a maybe and finding out they cant make it 1hr before the game starts as there wouldnt be enough time to tick all the boxes by then. If you guys have any input, questions, ideas, or thoughts please email or txt. Thanks for reading Tim U12s Coach. Mob: 0408 133 283 Email: [email protected]

03.01.2022 The first round is up!!! Our first grading game and first game of the season is vs Park Ridge, 17th April, 12:00 @ Pine Rivers. Cant wait!!!!!... We have a lot to cram in between now and then so lets get ourselves down to training Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays!!! See you all tonight. Tim.

01.01.2022 The life of a coach.. For those unaware.I decided to take a few days off work before Easter and spend the last two days checking out the Under 12s district tournaments in Nth Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Day one was out at Zillmere for the Metro North Tournament, where our under 12s had two representatives in Aaron and Jakob. Both put in solid performances, with Jakob in and out of the Ruck / CHF position and Aaron spending the majority of his time down back. Each mo...re than held their own and showed some promising desperation to win the ball. Day Two I ventured up to Maroochydore where I witnessed yet another highly skilled Sunshine Coast Tournament. The whole Redcliffe Team (which did feature quite a few Redcliffe Tiger players from different age groups) was quite skilled and full of run. Our Under 12s reps were, Adam, Both Jacks, Owen.E, and Wil. It was a pleasure watching our boys link up and feed off each other throughout the games and support each other in the breaks. As usual Adam was a terror in the midfield, not giving an inch and busting open the packs. Wil patrolled the half backline and picked off quite a few opposition fwd entry kicks. Jack.G was very good in his attack on the ball and chase down tackles, while his name sake Jake showed an unexpected 3rd & 4th effort attack game and proved his ability to beat multiple defenders. All the while Owen continued his goal scoring form from Sunday scoring numerous bags of goals in the three games I was lucky enough to see. In two ridiculously difficult competitions we were lucky enough to have both Adam and Owen selected to go through to compete in the possibles vs probables game (where the final regional team is selected) but unfortunately they both fell painfully short. But wow what an effort to be narrowed down from 145ish players into the final 32, in what was a phenomenally strong Sunshine Coast region. It was hard yakka watching from the sidelines both days in the blistering sun (I have the tan lines to prove it), so I cant imagine how exhausted the boys are feeling at the moment. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the boys out there tearing it up, and as a first year coach I likened it to watching my own kids compete in the districts..i was inspired of what they achieved and so glad to be associated with them, given their effort and how they conducted themselves. For the parents of the boys mentioned above I hope you pass on how extremely proud our team and club are of you and what you have achieved. You are Tiger family now and we cant wait for you to continue the past two days form into the season. Well done boys. Cheers Guys. Tim.

01.01.2022 Hey everyone, Firstly let me say what a pleasure it was to finally get the team out in a somewhat official capacity, and I know I speak for Callum and Aaron when I say it was thrilling to take control of our first game as newly appointed coaches. To kick off the day organizing game duties was made so easy with the amount of support and initiative shown from you the parents. You have no idea how much easier it makes our jobs, how smooth it makes the games progress, how much w...e supremely appreciate your efforts, and how much pride it gives us that we are involved with a group that pitches in for each other like you guys have. Thanks. The game progressed very exponentially, with our guys struggling to find their grooves early on and conceding a few early goals. From there it was a second quarter of stopping the flow, before a third quarter that saw us lock in, really play some good link up football and jumping out to a handy lead. As I stated to the team all that day "I dont want anybody focusing on scores or worrying about win/loss as the game wasnt about that", we (the coaches) made the decision to shuffle the team around and try different positions in a way to really stretch the team and learn a little more. The result of our research caused some minor disruption and the loss of our lead......however we gained the knowledge we were after and the match being a practice match served its purpose. All the boys played well and did what was expected of them. The hit out was extremely beneficial to us as coaches and highlighted a lot of areas we need to improve of fine tune before the season begins. ....some of which we have already begun working on in our last training session. I truly hope all of you enjoyed it as much as we did and understand the value in having these practice matches and buy into what we were trying to achieve on the day. Please if any of you have feedback, some ideas, or input on not only the game but the whole day (duties, canteen, umpires, coaches, players, or game plan) we always encourage you to take us aside and have a chat at an appropriate time or please send an email / txt.........wed appreciate the feedback. As for the next few weeks we are looking at a schedule as follows............ Friday 25th 4:30pm - 6pm trainig as usual Sunday 27th - NO TRAINING School holidays....normal training times Tue, Fri, & Sun. We understand some of you cant make it, or maybe away. That is fine and totally understandable. We as coaches are still making ourselves available for those that want to improve and better themselves. Thanks for taking the time to read my long dribbling messages. Go Tigers. Coach Tim. P.S....A huge good luck to all the boys that are about to take the fields the next few days in the district tournaments. We are so proud of you and, not only the under 12s...but the whole club, is behind you!
